One of the best recordings probably best so far the setlist remains the same but
Bob cannot resist tinkering with the songs again.

SPOT an I are old (very) friends
SPOT records a lotta Dylan shows and passes them on to me to upload
I AM NOT SPOT, But its always me doing the uploading

He is a compulsive browser though so do comment he loves to read em.
Its quite important that we acknowledge these peoples efforts, I hear from
mates who say that Bobs playing the same set all the time is discouraging.
That may well be so, and if it is, thats all the more reason to show them that we
appreciate that they are working  maybe with posterity more than pleasure in mind.
So when you play this recording which you are getting for nothing remember the
efforts and expense that was required for it to reach you.   Sermon over!
Good on yah guys!

Bob Dylan & His Band
April 25, 2015
DPAC
Durham, NC

Captured from downstairs, Sec 2 row V

Sony PCM-M10 Linear PCM Recorder (internal mics, auto levels, low-sensitivity mic setting) > cdwav > TLH (FLAC 6) > DIME > you

No time for samples today, but please download with utmost confidence.. this is an excellent capture.

What else is there to say... an incredible evening in the presence of greatness. His Bob-Ness and his well-oiled band delivered a spot-on performance to
an entralled and attentive group of the faithful, who were about as quiet and respectful as our friends in the Far East. Bravo Durham !

While this isn't a SPOT recording, which hopefully will follow soon, I believe that you will find this to be an extraordinary capture (at least considering that
I use the internal mics on the PCM-M10). There is nary a whistle or hollar from anywhere around me - or for that matter - from the entire audience. In my opinion,
this one sounds fantastic.. until the SPOT recording pops up at least ...

Setlist : as if you need to ask.. please note that the "guitar riffs" are part of the first track of the set and track 18 is the crowd during the encore..

Do what you want with this, except sell it for goodness sake... because that ain't cool...

3rd Gen > standalone CDR recorder > CDR > xACT (extraction) > Sound Studio (retrack, amplify slightly) > xACT (FLAC level 5) > Dime > You

This is not my cassette extraction, it comes from the vast library of Bill Brown.
One of the overlooked gems of the tour, likely because it was recorded with less-than-stellar equipment on a single 120min cassette. (For those going back that far this means Low Bias)
There are some rough spots near the leader as the tape flips in RSOG and the whole thing cuts off shortly into Ritual, but everything else is there and clear enough for the tales aficionado to enjoy. Certainly the performance of the Remembering tonight will indeed make it worth your time.

No speed-tampering or audio tweaking has been done to the original product here. This is not a high-fidelity tape. What you get is what's in the box. Take it or leave it.

This fits nicely on discs if you put CTTE on one and Tales on the other.

Support the Band. Buy their stuff. Trade the live audience recordings freely & turn your friends on to this kind of music.

Please try to remember:

A) The lifespan of a cassette tape is not forever. In the grand scheme of things, magnetic media does not last long at all, and cassette tape life is from ten to thirty years, depending on storage. Remember, it is simply a plastic tape that carries a thin coating of magnetic material, usually iron oxide, on which a varying magnetic pattern is imposed during recording.

B) Like this show, a lot of tapes were traded to other collectors, thus receiving generational lineage beyond the Master Cassette. So a tape of a tape of a tape and all, may mean that some collectors have better-preserved or longer-lasting copies, even if the generation is unknown. Hence, CASSETTE tape copies, not CDRs of some of the shows may need to be examined to try to preserve some of this material.

C) The time is NOW! information is being lost, shedding away in boxes in basements. Please make a concerted effort to make clean digital transfers (hopefully better than this one) of some of these tapes. Discus among yourselves.

Enjoy the show!

(Yours Is No Disgrace was played as a second encore at this show, but was not recorded by Tom)
Tape transfer by Joey 11/2006
Mastered for CD by TheTooleMan 12/2006

I was excited and honored when Fred contacted me with news that his friend Tom had an uncirculated recording of a Yes concert which was thought to have never been recorded. Would I like to have a shot at mastering it and presenting it to the world? YES!

Fred sent me a copy of the recording that was made on a stand-alone CD recorder. While the audio quality was good, I was disappointed to find that the original tapes have considerable speed irregularities, probably resulting from low batteries.

The original tapes were transferred again by Joey, who created a 24-bit 48 kHz digital version. I applied speed correction, EQ, and dynamics with Sound Forge and Vegas.

Considerable work went into correcting the random speed changes, and I could probably spend the rest of my life correcting every minor speed fluctuation in this recording. While I was able to fix most of the major problems, some wow and flutter remains. Roundabout suffers the most, and was very difficult to correct. I added an effect to the end of the song to characterize the exhausted batteries dying on the final note.

Now for the even more exciting news: Fred also recorded the same show. It will be seeing the light of day soon, after 30 years of storage. I am hopeful it will be of better quality overall, although this recording is quite listenable as it is now.

40th Anniversary Edition

Lineage: unknown recording -> audio CD -> EAC -> TheTooleMan (Sound Forge) -> FLAC

Here is a rarely-seen recording of Yes on their momentous Tales from Topographic Oceans tour. The recording is very rough and has a few lengthy gaps. It probably should be considered "for completists only." It is historically important, however, because it captured a complete Rick Wakeman solo; these solos were only performed in a couple of early shows from the tour. None of the other tracks in this recording is complete.

This is basically the unaltered transfer I received from a collector who has a number of rare recordings. I have only removed one digital click from the first track and broken up track four of the CD into three separate tracks, since it contained parts of three songs.

Tracks:
1. Firebird Suite (with gap) (3:18)
2. Siberian Khatru (with gap) (9:43)
3. And You And I (9:51)
4. Close to the Edge (7:36)
5. Rick Wakeman solo (5:22)
6. The Revealing Science of God (with gap) (3:31)

Show Notes (thanks to Five Horizons/TwoFeetThick):
PJ makes a return to the Fabulous Fox Theatre, a beautiful, acoustically
sound venue, after ten years. Ed is wearing a brown shirt with Bush's face
on it that says "Expires Nov '04." After 'Corduroy,' Ed says, "It's about
time this group played a classy joint!" (in comparison to the prior arenas).
'Alone' again catches many off guard and Ed's vocals are nearly spot on with
he original recordings but the harmonies are missing, filled by guitarwork.
'Wishlist' has the "I wish I was the president ..." tag and includes some
language about Dick Cheney and how you can't sacrifice the lives of American
men and women for a war that appears to be profit driven ... "it will be
Dick Cheney who is not forgiven." This leads to a well-received and strong
'RVM,' concluding the first set. Upon returning, there is a toast to St.
Louis and one to the whole state with some discussion about how only 1/3 of
those between 18 and 22 vote and a plea to register and vote and that they
don't really care how people vote. Ed says actually they do care ("That's
why we're here ...") and that leads to a lovely 'Patriot' with just Ed and
his guitar. 'MOTH' is dedicated to Johnny Ramone, really lovely and a nice
showcase for Ed's deep range. 'Elderly Woman' includes a bauble (Ed notes,
"I fucked up") and he could tell since the crowd was singing along. 'Off He
Goes' is beautiful and 'All Or None' again seems to be a bit lost on the
crowd (and it would be nice to see Mike go a bit longer on the ending solo).
Ed turns the end of 'Black' over to the crowd and it is a nice finish to
the acoustic set. The next set begins with the normally quiet Stone talking
quite a bit, thanking St. Louis and reminding people it is important to vote.
Very solid set follows with so much excitement during 'DTE' that someone in
the front of the balcony nearly falls. A brief, cheerful band huddle follows
and they go with Mike's selection of 'SOLAT' to keep the momentum going.
'Wishlist' slows things down but has a solid 'Save It For Later' tag with
some "please vote" lyrics intermingled. During 'The New World,' Tim Robbins
and Ed square off and slam into each other (you can guess who won ... not
Ed; Tim is tall!). The fun continues into a high spirited 'Fortunate Son.'
Ed toys with the Bush mask a bit but there is no 'Bushleaguer.' 'YL'
finishes, featuring a short 'Star Spangled Banner' tag by Mike.

Technical Notes:
The complete set of Vote For Change shows are being mixed/remastered and
distributed by theskyiscrape.com in tandem with blackredyellow.com, as
part of the BRY/SV series of the best PJ shows.  Each show includes artwork,

not included, you can find it at blackredyellow.com

A couple of edits were performed on the incredible AKG > DAT recording.
The skips in Jeremy (d1t11, 2:31 - 2:41) were patched with the Schoeps > DAT
source.  Some loud talking during Off He Goes (d2t04 2:10 - 2:31) was patched
with Schoeps > DAT, and some claps at the end of that song were edited.

*Yes 1973-12-06 Apollo Theatre Glasgow, UK

By request here is another Yes Tales tour show form the UK. I took several hours today converting and remastering
this show from my tapes which I received in a trade around 1980 or so. I can't verify the generation, but the tape
was plaqued by hiss and low rumble. The sound, while a lot better than before still has some hiss to it. Reducing
it too much resulted in the loss of clarity, which I took the license to keep. The show sounds like it was recorded
from the nosebleed section of the theatre, but some of the hollow quality has been removed.

Also inluded in the torrent are some pics courtesy of Eddie Dowds and the Forgotten Yesterdays website.

*Del Amitri 1990-12-19 Barrowlands Ballroom Glasgow, Scotland

Del Amitri
Barrowlands Ballroom
Glasgow, Scotland
Dec. 19, 1990

Excellent AUD recording

Here's a nice early-era Del Amitri show that I recently edited slightly to improve the original FLAC fileset (which I received in the mail a couple years back from my buddy, avnut).

As the original torrent notes stated, the original transfer from cassette to CD must have used "tracks at once" (TAO) instead of "disc at once" (DAO) somewhere along the line since microgaps were present between tracks on the original FLAC fileset that avnut sent to me.  For this "cleaned up" version, I deleted all of the microgaps using Nero's wave editor.  I also decided to re-track the show as part of my clean-up process by using Nero's wave editor and CD Wave.

I should also point out that the original text file inadvertently omitted "You're Gone" from the disc 1 tracklisting.  The listing for this show on the etree database also omits "You're Gone."

Lastly, worth mentioning is that during "Move Away Jimmy Blue" the band segues into a little bit of the Rolling Stones' "You Can't Always Get What You Want."

To my ears, this is a nice-sounding AUD recording which has a couple "rare" (or relatively rare) Del Amitri tracks in "The Boys Are Back In Town", "Don't Cry No Tears", "Scared To Live", "Charlie's Bar" and "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away".  Overall, this is a great collection of songs that should be in the collection of Del Amitri fans and non-Del Amitri fans alike.

According to the DIMEbot on Yahoo, the original version of this show was first shared on DIME back in July 2005 by porty.  It was re-posted for 5 months in 2008 by avnut (getting 50 snatches) and again from Dec 2010 to Feb 2012 by porty (97 snatches).  Thanks to both of you for spreading this show around!

Comments:
[Steve]: This concert - the last one on the first leg of the October Tour - was broadcast on German television as part of WDR's "Rockpalast" series. Even though it's such a long time ago the sound quality can still compete with today's recordings. During the first part of "Rejoice" the quality seems to deteriorate, but it quickly recovers. U2's performance isn't different from most other nights, except that Bono desperately tries to reach out to the German crowd the whole time. The audience is quite unresponsive and it clearly frustrates him. During "Rejoice" Bono sings improvised lines about the lights shining in his face and thus not being able to see the crowd and to "I Fall Down" he adds "I think I'll go home... I think I don't like this show". The rest of the concert sounds more inspired, with great versions of "I Will Follow", "Out Of Control" and "11 O'Clock Tick Tock".
The three bonus tracks are from the Roskilde festival in 1982 and although it was shown on TV as well, the sound quality is pretty bad The cover looks very nice, but it only has three B/W pictures and I don't think they're from the Berlin show. In fact they all come from Pimm Jal's "U2 Live" book (pages 20, 26 & 27). Overall, it's a great bootleg from the early days. The performance wasn't as inspired as the "infamous" Boston show earlier that year, but for collectors this bootleg's a must.
Color cover.
[Elisha]: This performance of early U2 really captures the spirit of their live performances in the Boy/ October period. Bono is quite vocal throughout about the fact that the lights were in his eyes and that he could not see the audience (apparently, still very new to public stage performance). U2 plays quite well, and Bono ends up improvising lyrics in many songs including Gloria, Another Time Another Place, An Cat Dubh, Rejoice, and I Fall Down. He is also quite chatty with the audience and they are certainly quite receptive to his attention. By the time he sings "call out" in 11:00 Tick tock, the audience responds by yelling "Bono!" and "Dublin!" The sound quality is excellent since it was recorded on a soundboard. The intro. to The Electric Co. that is called "The Cry" seems to have made its debut on this occasion as Bono precedes it with the words: "We're not used to doing auditions. We'll break that: this is The Cry". Before the encore of 11:00 Tick Tock, Bono tells the cheering audience: "You don't have to try so hard. We're not gonna make you wait. Can you hear it? Eleven O'Clock Tick Tock!". All in all, the CD captures the small-stage feel of U2's performance with a few bonus tracks to boot. Definitely pick this up if you're a fan of the raw and unmistakable early U2.
This is the original pressing on this label.

A great set by The Replacements on the first night of their “Back By Unpopular Demand” tour at a theater they last played in June of 1991 (which we also taped). The Mats played the first minute and 40 seconds of the show behind a curtain, which they raised as the vocals began for “Seen Your Video.” This setlist was much heavier on deep cuts than the festival appearances they've made over the last two years and at least a couple of songs appeared to be in response to requests from the audience.

A clear, punchy recording from a few rows up in the balcony, in line with the PA. Samples provided. The download includes several photos we took at the show.

Thanks to BLG for his help in getting this one posted.

Remarks:

This is a pretty nice recording of a great energetic show! The recording has some hiss, is a quite heavy on the bass and might be running a bit too slow. I classify the quality as "vg+/exc-".

In the past I labeled this recording as being a FM-recording. When I listened to this recording the other day I had some strong doubts. I quite convinced that this is an audience recording!
For example: during Bed's Too Big Without You (at 6.27) someone clearly shouts: "Disco sucks!".
During the beginning of Peanuts the same guy is still shouting ("Rock and roll!")!

Although the beginning of Can't Stand Losing You is missing (most likely to a switch of the tape), this is the complete version I have come across (59 minutes!).

Before "So Lonely": "It's nice to be here in Virginia. Why is this called Virginia that's what I wanna know. How are you doing? I think we have to play loud to them".
Before Landlord: "Thank you. Thanks a lot. I mean this in the nicest possible way: you people are crazy. This is the B-side of our single. This is called Landlord".
During Born In The 50's: "Thank you to the support group. Thank our loading men. Thank you Kim. And thank you. Goodnight from The Police. Goodnight".

Here is the master tape of the Chicago gig from early in Neil Young's "Harvest/Time Fades Away" American Tour of 1973.
This three-month odyssey started on January 5, 1973 in Milwaukee. The setlist here is noticeably different than the recently posted Seattle March 17, 1973 show and features a number of songs that were dropped later in the tour. As such, this Chicago concert provides a nice contrast to Seattle. "LA" is performed here on acoustic guitar, rather than the electric version featured in the Seattle show. In addition, Kenny Buttrey also adds a distinctive difference on the drum parts. I rate this show VG+ in sound quality. Like Seattle, I think it's another of the better-sounding shows from this tour. None of these Chicago tracks appear on the "Time Fades Away" album. Song samples provided. Enjoy.

Note:
To add on the 10/10/00 performance, the 10/9/00 had to be retracked due to cd time constrants. Some editing was
done on the 10/10/00 performance to reduce some loud handclaps and cheering in a few places.

Show Notes (thanks to Five Horizons/TwoFeetThick):
A raucous crowd and a band in great spirits, Mike covering his ears during 'Corduroy' signifying the loud crowd.
Lots of between chat among the band. 'Even Flow' is phenomenal, with Stone nudging Ed to look over while Ed is
looking at Matt, with Matt and Mike playing off of each other toward the end, almost like a "who can top this"
thing and Stone and Ed applauding them both at the conclusion. Matt starts off 'Light Years' and Ed talks for
the first 12-16 bars and it is restarted when he's finished. He tells how the song is about a person native to
the Chicago area and how that person made the sun brighter for the people of Chicagoland. Lyrics are changed to
"for they still miss you here" rather than "you seemed to like it here." Ed talks about the Alpine show the night
before: "Waking up this morning, it was hard to believe that last night actually happened." Later he says he
thinks the temperature (26 degrees) matched the number of thousands of people that braved the temperature.
'Lukin' (intro'ed as "another quiet one about a guy who likes to drink beer") and 'NFY' are practically one song.
'Parting Ways' is a very pleasant surprise, closing the long, long set that Ed earlier notes "it's not a set in
a stone, concrete process, but we usually go about 17 songs or so before taking a break ... it seems, by my count,
that we're at about 22 right now ... are you guys still with us?" He notes that after surviving last night, they
just want to keep playing. Ed passes his wine bottle around with the crowd during 'Crazy Mary' and Mike throws a
few bars of Jimmy Page's 'Stairway to Heaven' (Zep) solo into the song. 'Rearviewmirror' is an unbelievable
extended version. Ed gives a long exhortation before 'Soon Forget,' urging fans to attend the Nader rally the next
day (they were even selling tickets to the rally at the show) and he's sporting a Bush/Cheney sign with a huge
black X through it on his monitor. He discusses the debates and how "one here and one here" are really coming from
the same place but Nader provides an alternative He says the next song is for the "richies ... like the ones in the
sky boxes" pointing to a sky box in the middle right, continuing, "I see there is alike a light blue neon light in
the sky box ... they must have a lot of cocaine in there (laughing)." Ed stops the song because of the clapping
(again), hushing everyone so "the rich would get the full effect" and imitates bad clapping by clapping his hand
against his leg and stomping his foot off-beat saying, "See, the rich can't even keep time." And 'Baba'? Light full
up, whole crowd visible and screaming, Stone goes nuts, Jeff does an Irish jig for Mike, Ed breaks a tambourine and
gives it to someone in the front, gets another one and tosses it to those behind the stage. Band is full on and the

_____________

This two-record vinyl boot must have sold a million copies, because it seems that just about everyone used to have one. The sound quality is really nice considering the audience recording technology of 1971. Neil is quite talkative, and his "comedy" on "Sugar Mountain" is hilarious. I consider this show essential to a live Neil Young collection.
This is from mint-condition records; I was told they'd been played only six times. Still, you'll notice the vinyl noise -- boots in that era were not exactly high-quality pressings. Still, it's pretty minor, I think. No effort has been made to "clean it up" -- this is how it would have sounded if you were bringing one home from a head shop in 1971. This recording has never emerged among collectors from a non-vinyl source.
CD case artwork is included; it's made from the original album jacket, including some incorrect titles because many songs were unreleased at the time. I still can't figure how they got "It's So Hard to Wait" for "On the Way Home."

Enjoy!

Show Notes (thanks to Five Horizons -> http://www.fivehorizons.com)
===================================================================
A very hot and sweaty show (at least they were smart tonight and all wore shorts!). During the first few songs, the sweat is literally pouring off of Stone and Ed's faces. After 'Jeremy,' Ed comments on how they haven't been here in a while: "We weren't touring anyway ... it's not like we were seeing other people ... we've been saving ourselves for you." 'MFC' is so intense that Ed breaks a string and then proceeds to finish the song banging the neck of his guitar against the mic stand. The 'Daughter' tag consists of Ed cupping his hands around his mouth to create a megaphone effect, singing "the shades go down" and moving his hands in and out to make some very weird and wonderful noises, followed by a short 'The Whole of the Moon' (a Waterboys cover). Then he points at the moon, and mentions that this is the last time for a while they'll see "that thing" on this tour. "That thing moves us like the tides ..." The intro to 'Footsteps' mentions the fact that the song was written before Ed was in the band and that Matt Cameron actually played on the first recording, and then Ed requests applause for Matt. He also mentions that he is not that anxious to be getting to Texas quickly, complete with a dead-on impersonation of a Texas drawl. He later goes into an interesting rant about creation and religion before 'Smile,' which ended with the statement, "What I want to know is, how many days did it take for man to create god?" A frantic 'RitFW,' complete with awesome solo by Mike, ends the set. On the real setlist but not played: 'Pilate' and 'Off He Goes.'
