Sometimes it can take me a while to get around to listening to stuff I download... 10 years ago I downloaded a copy of this show entitled "7 From 77", which I believe also circulates as "TheTooleMan 2002 Edition", and just now got around to comparing it to a copy of this show I received in snail mail trade eons ago.  While they're both from the same source, I think my copy sounds significantly better, plus "7 from 77" tests lossy...  Only downside is the brief cut during "Starship Trooper".  In any case, I hope this is an upgrade for many of you.

I had been undecided about going to see Yes this time around but I ended up with a great seat in their $20 sale they
did a couple of weeks ago. It was a really  good show. I actually like the new songs. The crowd was really appreciative
and gave standing ovations after almost every song. Just a small note on the recording is I was having trouble with my
mics staying in place so there are a couple of points where they move around as I am adjusting them. It is not bad but
just wanted to point it out..

Unknown gen tape (Maxell UDII CD90) --> Sony PMC-DR45L --> sssnake YPK 2050 Y audio cable --> Alesis iO|2 --> USB cable --> Cubase 5 LE --> CdWav --> Trader's Little Helper --> FLAC (Level 5)
Mastering, EQ or any other fiddling whatsoever has NOT been applied, this is the raw transfer from the tape.

I have no idea how much this particular recording has been circulating so far, and in what quality/generation...
But this is my transfer from a tape that I got in a trade many years ago.
The sound is a bit rough, but that's nothing unusal for audience recording in the 70's.
Thanks goes to the original taper, whoever you are.

Very good sound on this boot, from the master tapes. One of the best sounding audience recordings of the tour IMO. Standard setlist and complete concert.

Still interested in trades, btw. Feel free to contact me if you have some stuff I could be missing, my site is here:

PS: The date is correct, this is NOT the pretty common recording of the first night.

Yes 2014-05-26 Phoenixhalle Mainz, Germany

1st golden rule on a prog concert: there are always couples where the guy has to explain something to the girl every ~2 minutes (e.g. what a pedal steel guitar is, on which records the keyboard player was on,...).

2nd golden rule: one of those couples is located right before me or by my side (or both).

But luckily Yes played loud so it didn't affect the recording too much. The sound is not overwhelming but good.

The tempos could be faster, of course, but they've done slower before (or have I got used to it?). Songs like "Parallels" and "Perpetual Change" suffer most from lush playing - during the latter Alan White obviously fell asleep (3:29). Another laugh is Jon Davison's first vocal cue ("close to the edge" @ 1:42): dedicated to Benoit David!

After all they played rather good if you don't compare it to "Total Mass Retain"  (the bonus 7" version from the CTTE cd).

Notes: Another transfer from a VHS I got from Andre Fantarrow - lo gen, not sure how low.

Transferred by direct wire from VHS to DVD recorder, then recompiled using Ulead Movie Factory.

It's from a reasonable distance back, left of centre.  Close-ups are good, but because of the distance, it's not exactly pin sharp; and at times it can get a bit blurry and/or juddery.  Screen caps attached to listing.

I did hit a little snag that, in order to take out a messy bit between the main set and the encores, I got bad lip synch.  The only way to address this was to separate them into two sets - main and encore.  Play all and you'll get all, however.

Thanks to Agovigli that dusted off this beautiful old show in better quality than previously circulating.
Unfortunately 2 songs were missing on his torrent + the intro of the first song of the show.
Here I'm uploading the full show using for missing parts my previous recording of this show.
The original tape is the same (unknown taper - lineage and generation)
Maybe one day the taper will surface with his master (hey you there in Colorado, can you hear us??!)

I recorded this myself with a small hand held deck I bought at Radio Shack using the built-in mics. Beware : This is not as clean as the digital recordings you can get now a days. The sound is a little muddy. There is some crowd noise , some chatty exchanges , but it is a nice listen. I will up a couple mp3 samples. You decide if you want to download it.
I have only traded this one time. This is a transfer from my master tapes. I am not an expert at the mastering process , so just recorded it flat, without any boosting or tampering of any kind other then some hiss removal.

There are a couple rough spots : I read a review of the tour in Rolling Stone at the time which said  " includes a 9 minute Sultans Of Swing " So I was concerned with the tape flip. The first flip is just at the start of Sultans , which is slightly clipped. The second flip is near the end of Wild West End , I edited these two sides together using CoolEdit2000. It's hard to say how much is clipped , but I don't think it is more then a few seconds.

"House Of Yes" CD/DVD Outtakes
Officially released tracks removed

I was at this show, and it was originally webcast in its entirety a day or two afterwards.  Later it was broadcast on DirectTV, with "Close To The Edge" and "Hearts" omitted, and then the broadcast version was officially released on CD and DVD as "House Of Yes".  While I had a recording of the webcast, which was lossy, somewhere along the line, I got sent a CDR with the complete show that tested to be not lossy.

The performance of "Close To The Edge" got bashed on Forgotten Yesterdays by people who clearly weren't there (someone says Jon pointed to Jane on the balcony, but Jane was standing at the foot of the stage).  In any case, it was a better performance than the drivel that the band is peddling these days.

Allegedly there's a complete audience recording floating around from this date that I've never been able to locate, if someone has it, please contact me via PM.

Iron Maiden 1981-05-24 Sun Plaza, Tokyo, Japan(Maiden Japan Complete)

IRON MAIDEN live at the Sun Plaza, Tokyo, Japan, 24th May 1981

Digipak CD bootleg - xACT - FLAC

The one and only early IRON MAIDEN bootleg you will ever need (unless you're a maniac like me who wants to listen to ever different versions of IRON MAIDEN songs!).

Recording stems from the same concert and is just as good in sound quality as the "Maiden Japan" aka "Heavy Metal Army" 12", whose songs are part of this recording.

This is by far the best sounding early Iron Maiden concert available, probably originating in a fm radio broadcast (I remember owning a recording of it on which two Japanese guys used to hum and sing to Iron Maiden's songs).

For printing/developing purposes, I am including high resolution (300 dpi) scans of both the cover outside and inside.

Enjoy this rare recording that I was after for many, many years!

This was my first show with new mics, and the vocals occasionally clip. The levels looked good initially, but I'll
know what to adjust for next time. The sound up close was phenomenal--crystal clear vocals, crunchy guitar, and the
beauty of Alex's live sound--it was all there. The night before, I sold my two tickets on StubHub and used that
money to buy this seat. I've never been so close to these guys before, and it took me a few songs in to really
comprehend it all. Less than twenty feet away there they were--the David Lee Roth I'd seen and heard on recordings
since I was a teenager. The smiles of Ed. Alex's self-proclaimed fish-face when play. It was the first time I was
able to see it up close, and the $150 was worth it. Dave's vocal performance is spotty at best, but the energy is
there. Alex was a rock per usual. I thought Ed was a little off, certainly in comparison to other shows I've heard.
Wolf was great and really provided that spark of life for Ed throughout the night. It's a shame they cut "In a Simple
Rhyme" because I was really looking forward to that. I don't know if it was planned or was just decided throughout the
show. I did notice Dave and Ed having what looked like a serious conversation, though only for a few seconds. Maybe
that was discussing the set.

I also want to give a big thanks to all those who have shared their recordings so far this tour like ironchef and to
the dedicated collectors and encyclopedias of the VH live community: Loucap81 and markum7.

Known Faults:
-It's Gonna Work Out Fine: last half only (intro story missing)
-E Street Shuffle: slight cut at beginning
-Kitty's Back: three splices (one seamless), end cut
-Jungleland: slight cut at beginning, splice, end cut
-Rosalita: slight cut at beginning, volume drop at one point which could only
slightly be corrected without adding hiss, end cut
-Quarter To Three: splice

Volume 5 of the DS Archives came as a surprise, a previously uncirculated 2nd recording source.

For you eagle eyed collectors that may have noticed a notation on "Known Faults" of volume 4 of a 1 second patch in the MC Introduction to that version, this is the source of that patch.

Though the collector in me gets very excited at any new or multiple sources for any show before you get to excited about this one it is very incomplete and recorded further back from the stage. I consider this one for the collectors and offer it up to those that want it all in a continuing effort to get all sources into circulation.

With that said I was very surprised to come across another source of any quality for this particular show, multiple recorders are never a surprise on the east coast or some of Bruce's stronger areas but I thought there would be very little chance for a 2nd recorder in Dallas in 1975.

As mentioned in the notes for Volume 4, it was misdated as September 15th. This source was dated correctly and my first assumption was it was simply an edited version of the complete source. There are some shared audience noises giving the appearance this might have been the same source, the shared audience noises on this source sounded further back in the recording. I at first chalked that up as this source simply being much higher generation which can have that effect. However, upon a further detailed review there are multiple areas of unique audience noises on each source. The "E Street Shuffle" was the confirmation with multiple up close laughter or chatter that was absent or very far back on this source.

Thanks go out to a number of folks that helped get this into your hands, from those that have been in touch with Dan for years and in turn put me in touch with him...IvannF, EarlMv, Oats1jvo to E from JEMS for the continued use of the NAK DR-1.
The biggest thanks to Dan for making his archives available for the enjoyment of us all...

Notes: I felt uncertain about this show going in - without Chris Squire, would this feel like Yes? Does this make them
their own tribute band? Certainly, on some levels, that's exactly how it feels - when Geoff Downes played a sloppy key-
board lick at the beginning of OoaLH, you can hear a few people in the audience groan; there's a surrealistic feeling to
this band playing TaaW, when nobody on stage played on the original recording; the longest tenured member of this band
is the drummer. Is this still Yes?

I attended this show with my wife and friend, who flew in from Texas to attend, as he has with past Yesshows. The venue
is actually a large field in the foothills of the Denver metro area that appeared to be largely attended by members of the
Gardens - by the time the show ended at 9:00 (!), most of the crowd had already vacated! Toto went on first, and they
actually played a bit longer than Yes - which was a huge disappointment to me; this is easily the shortest Yesshow that
I've seen. Plus, the sun was right in our faces for the entirety of Toto's performance - fortunately, the sun was going
down when Yes took the stage shortly after 7:30.

The tribute to Chris Squire did not really come off at this show, as the sun was still out and there was no video screen,
Onward played in a sort of isoloation - most of the crowd did not realize that this was part of the show. This was followed
by a shortened version of the Firebird Suite; the first thing I noticed was that Billy wore a long Squire-esque coat for
his performance. The opening DKTW worked better in person than it had the other shows I had heard - it's still a weird
choice for an opener. In fact, the crowd was obviously restless, as the first five songs were obscurities (to them) - it
reminded me that, during Toto's set, they announced at one point 'we're playing something from our new album' and the crowd
obviously exhaled in disappointment. To me, Tempus Fugit was the highlight - I've said it before and I'll say it again: if
you don't have Jon Anderson in the band, you should emphasize the material that isn't associated with him. I'm jealous that
Europe gets the Drama/Fragile tour in Spring 2016.

The band got tighter as they worked their way through the set - you can feel a palpable sense of relief in the crowd once
they get to ISAGP.

Overall, the setlist is an odd, but, enjoyable bird - at 1 hour, 26 minutes, it feels like a partial performance, but, the
music is magical, and there's a certain honor in these guys going on in Chris Squire's stead. Almost like he's there with
them in spirit - he knew they'd be going on without him, so, it feels like they're honoring him, even if not explicitly so.

My wife says this is the least enjoyable Yesshow that she has seen - for her, the best part was that it was short, and we
were home at a reasonable hour. For my friend, as long as Steve Howe is there, it's worth seeing and he felt that Steve was
on point and played well. To me, I was glad to see it, and will continue to patronage any band that can officially call
itself Yes - Alan White sounded much better at this show (to me) than he had in a long time (perhaps he's laying off the
sauce, in light of Chris' fate), Billy was fine as the hand picked replacement, Steve was really loud in the mix, but,
did not disappoint (too bad we didn't get Clap), Downes is acceptable and Davison is a Jon Anderson clone for whom most of
the crowd probably did not notice the difference.

Not to mention, as I get older, I imagine more and more of the shows I see will likely be playing in similar venues, ending
at earlier and earlier times - that's not necessarily bad!

Please do not sell this recording, but, share, share, share!

Title : The Complete Houston - BT1 Version

Note : on my copy I found that "Brothers In Arms" began late in the intro.

So after listening to my other <incomplete> sources I choose the one from the liberated bootleg "One world".
I used the intro only, the rest of the song is from Complete Houston who has better sound.

Of course if you get a superior version than mine a new torrent will be welcome.

Tracks CD 2

Additional comments
Pretty good sounding audience recording, suffering a bit from tape hiss though.
The setlist is complete, there’s only a little cut in the last part of Wild west end, probably due to tape change.
Very powerful performance of Solid rock and, again, a brilliant version of Sultans of swing.

Original Silver CD> PIONEER DVD-ROM DVD-303> EAC(v0.9 beta 4)> WAV(44.100 Hz; 16 Bit; Stereo)> SHN-MKW

The original ran too slow by almost a semitone. Each song was almost a half-step flat from where Stevie usually played them and his vocals sounded a bit sluggish.
The correct pitch was determined by comparing with a properly tuned guitar.
Cool Edit Pro's 'Pitch Bender' tool was used to increase the speed/pitch by 0.78 semitones, which made everything sound in tune, and in the correct keys, to my ear.
The whole thing was then retracked and re-encoded to FLAC(8), with the code "spc" (speed/pitch corrected) added to the file names.

When Ron asked me if I'd be interested in creating a surround mix for this show I agreed because of the uniqueness of the show with an orchestra compared to any other average Yes show.  I was sent the three recordings as they were generally released to the trackers and decided on which one to use for what location in the surround field based on their characteristics.

What I heard was essentially three recordings in a line moving away from the stage.  The Smashmark tape was neraly in mono and very tight to the music, not much reverb and only close audience members.  Recorder 1 had decent stereo separation and audience, and Tapehead2's had a big hall reverb. This made them perfect candidates for center, front and rear, respectively.

When I began trying to sync tapes 1 & 3 I ran into problems that just couldn't be resolved and brought this up to Ron.  He contacted the tapers and got fresh master rips for us to use.  Taper 1 gave me two transfers from his DAT, one digital and one analog.  I tried the synchronization again, but found several errors in the digital transfer.  I finally decided to use the analog transfer for the front left and right channels.  It has a little hiss, but is an unbroken transfer of the entire show complete with intro and outro music.  I also found out that the release master I was using before had a multitude of micro-edits in it to remove loud claps, which was why I couldn't get the sync correct.  With this new transfer it was no problem.

In the meantime Ron told me he had been editing the video to sync up to Tapehead2's recording, so I decided to use her recording as a base for speed correcting the other two.

Tapehead2's recording was from her CD-Rs and had minute edits in some of the dialogue and several disc change breaks.  These breaks were re-timed to match the unbroken taper 1 stream, then filled in with ambience from elsewhere in the recording.  The same was done for the Smashmark tape, which also had several breaks in it.  In no case was it necessary to patch one taper with another, so the sound field should remain unaltered throughout.

...Speaking of which, I must hand it to all three tapers, all of whom performed brilliantly and professionally.  These recordings are all free of particularly annoying audience (well, taper 3 has a singer), and the soundfields on all do not waver in any way.  Volume and mic placement are consistent throughout.  It made for an easy mix where the levels didn't have to be adjusted frequently as they would have if one of these had been limited or compressed in any way (a situation I've come across several times).

After all the mixing was done the low end from tapers 1 & 2 was summed together and sent to the sub.

What you get in the end is a recording that begins with the orchestral introduction in stereo, then when the band comes on stage the other three channels join in and create an immersive sound experience that puts you in the center of the Radio City Music Hall.

All work on this was done with Adobe Audition 1.5, along with some plugins.  Each recording was EQd so as to sound best with the other two, and considering it's placement in the room.  For the DVD stereo PCM track the 5.1 mix was reduced to stereo with the jbabcock and Tapehead2 tapes panned to the sides and the Smashmark tape in mono in the center to give the recording a tighter image.

A 16/44.1 resample is provided in this package as well.  This is the same as the stereo PCM track on the DVD, but at CD quality, and is designed for both continuous seamless playback on harddrive based players and for CD burning.  It contains optional tracks at the end of the sets to be used for different purposes.  For seamless playback put the fadeless segues in your playlist.  For CD burning optional fade-ins and -outs are also provided.  Use these instead of the seamless segues and your CDs will have smooth fades at both ends.

Very good quality recording - rehearsal + part of gig

01 Mick Ronson guitar
02 Medley rehearsal
03 Intro
04 Hang onto Yourself
05 Ziggy Stardust
06 Wild Eyed medley
07 Moonage Daydream
08 Changes
09 Space Oddity

This is from a tape I was told was the master, or lowest gen recording. The rehearsal circulated despite
being told I was getting something that hadn't been distributed at the time I got this, but I'm not sure
the gig has?

The last I read on the topic is that the gig recording that circulates is average quality, but the
recording here, while incomplete, is a lot better than that - it's very clear indeed.

Whether or not this is something exclusive or not, let's get some more Bowie circulating : the more that
people seed slightly more unusual items, the more likely that others will follow.
