My ticketed seat was actually section 222, Row D - Seat 5, but when I realized
during the Mammoth set I would be squeezed between two very large men, I looked
for an empty. I found one in the row below on an aisle still in perfect line
with the side hanging stack. I made this decision 2 minutes before the lights
went down! I had no one to my right (an aisle) and no one to my left the entire
show. I did have 2 women below me who were chatting occasionally, but they were
so quiet, its very hard to pick up on this. I have never seen GNR, but they
have always been a bucketlist band for me. Im not a huge fan, but love the
debut and select cuts from the Illusions. I actually dig quite a few on Chinese
Democracy, as well. I was very happy to see the title track and "Better" in the
set. The ticket was a small fortune, so Im not quite sure if I would go see them
again, but they more than impressed me. I had heard Axl had fallen off with his
vocals, but he sounded great for a near 60 year old. For this band to come out
and put on a 3+ hour set featuring nearly 30 songs is very admirable. If you're
a fan and havent seen them since Slash rejoined, what are you waiting for?

While I didnt really enjoy hearing "Wichita Lineman" during the show, on
playback its been growing on me. It has become a late highlight of an already
incredible show. It was also a treat getting the tour debut of "Coma" as that
has always been a favorite of mine.

One final note, the sound seems to improve 15 minutes in around "Double Talkin'
Jive". The first few songs sounded a tad off with the vocals higher in the mix
than they should have been. Thankfully, everything eventually balances out and
the remaining (almost) 3 hours sounds great.

Mammoth WVH opened [recorded].

Notes:

As with all of Simon's (Gig Addiction) recordings, this is a really great one.
It only sounds a bit distant.
That's why I did a remaster, making it sound clearer and up front.
The higher frequencies are now better represented in the mix.

I also removed two tape flip gaps, after Wasted Years and after Iron Maiden.
As well as some minor tape / microphone errors.

I hope you like it, enjoy.

Remastering Notes (from Led Zeppelin Rarities):
Here's the new Empress Valley soundboard release, filling in another major gap in the band's
esteemed Japanese tour of 1971. I like this one because the band plays a lot of little improvised
stuff that really adds to the concert. This release is missing The Immigrant Song and half of
Heartbreaker at the beginning, as well as Whole Lotta Love at the end, and the entire encore.
As unfortunate as that is, it's good that EVSD was able to put out a majority of a concert this
time. Also, this isn't one of my more inspired thumbnail designs, but major shoutout to the
Empress Valley graphics designer for using royalty-free fonts HAHA.

This one was a bit of a mess to put together, as the raw recording was frankly in bad shape for a
new release.

In short, there was a major phasing issue caused by the left and right channels not being properly
properly in-time. If you listened to it in mono, it would sound like it was coming from underwater.

After I solved that, the next problem I encountered was that the stereo balance was so far out of
whack, that the whole thing sounded like it was hard-panned to the left, when in fact both channels
were the same volume. The reason for this was that the high frequencies on the left side extended
much higher (about 2 kHz) than those of the right side, really making the left shine a lot brighter.
After a good amount of experimenting, my solution to this was completely eliminating the right
channel, and placing the left channel in the center, and rebuilding the entire stereo width from
there. I put a nice fat reverb on the whole thing which really helped widen the recording back to
something stereo, and made it sound much more alive.

The last major problem I had with this, and I'm looking at you EVSD, was the really bad noise
reduction on the whole thing. Noise reduction is used to take any sort of humming or hissing out
of a recording, without seriously affecting the stuff you want to keep. I usually stay away from
this, as it does more harm than good. There's really no way to digitally remove something from an
old, analogue tape, without leaving nasty-sounding digital leftovers from that process. If you
listen closely in the quiet moments on this bootleg, you might hear robotic chirping or sparkling
noises, or really quiet instrumentation get muffled in a very crude way. This is because Empress
Valley went way overboard with the noise removal on this entire bootleg. While it's not a deal-
breaker, I personally would've much preferred whatever hiss was on this old tape. The reverb helps
mask this though.

All in all, the mastering process was enough that I can safely call this my own remaster. Oh well.
I'm personally kinda proud of how much I was able to improve the sound on this one. I've been
taking upper-level audio classes at school for the last year or so, and I think it really shows in
my more recent videos.

Notes:

The San Jose ALD is the only circulating board from 2001 and one of the very few circulating Dylan soundboards from after the release of Love & Theft. While the actual mix of the ALD was quite good there was an almost unlistenable amount of hiss (probably from a poor FM signal rather than tape noise). "User00" has done an amazing job dehissing the original tape with minimal damage to the fidelity of the recording. I have mixed this version together with an audience recording to create what I think is one of the best sounding documents of this year of the NET. There are a few little oddities due to the nature of the source; a bit of hiss is still present and some very mild artefacting can be heard if you strain your ears but in both cases the AUD source should cover most of them up. During Like A Rolling Stone Bob's vocal mic is mixed to low on the ALD and this is reflected in the mix and improves gradually over the next few tracks. I've also done a cross fade between Leopard-Skin Pillbox Hat and Things Have Changed to skip over the encore.

The Police 1981-10-01 Madison Square Garden NewYork, NY

THE POLICE - Madison Square Garden, New-York City
10/01/1981

Lineage : I've received it in a trade on CD. I've extracted the file with Cd-Ex on Wav, then converted
the file using Fairstars Audio Converter for a Flac (level 5). I've checked two tracks with Cool Edit Pro 2
and saw a great frequency. Perfect stereo and really healthy frequency.

Me (Cd) -- Cd-Ex (Wav) -- Fairstars Audio Converter 2 (Flac level 5) -- You

THE POLICE AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN

Quality : Perfect stereo and really healthy frequency. Sound damn good as some of the best aduience recording
of the Police. Very familiar with a lot of good recordings from the Synch Tour.
Running time :
Cover : nope

Personal : I was looking for a good Police upload to make and this one is definitely one of the best I have.
I've listened to many several parts and didn't find errors but I know that some people here
will find something to tell (I will go again : "well, sorry"). There's just a fade-in fade-out (that I've seen)
but there was no song between Truth and Shadows according to Rogier Police Page. But there are still
two songs missing. The two last. I should have probably not uplaod this one because of that but I think
that there's also no way of knowing if there's a complete setlist or just if someone is going to upload
it if we request on the Mailing list. So if someone has the complete, please upload the last two songs.
And that's the best policy, some are okay to share once the rarity rate is gone. So if this one was a rare...
it's no more ! Therefore, we could get the two last songs really easily.
The main great thing about this show is one = the quality, two = the atmosphere (Madison Square Garden is always
a good concert) and three : The Yellow Rose of Texas. Which I don't think anybody has heard from Sting.
He sings it and it's quite funny. That's also of a big interest of this bootleg.

Tracklist :

01 - Voices inside my head
02 - Don't stand so close to me
03 - Walking on the moon
04 - Deathwish
05 - Fall Out
06 - Man in a Suitcase
07 - Bring on the night
08 - Do Do Do
09 - The Yellow Rose of Texas/ Do Do Do (reprise)
10 - Truth hits everybody (end : fade out)
11 - fade in : Shadows in the rain
12 - When the world is running down
13 - Bed's too big without you
14 - Driven to tears
15 - Message in a bottle
16 - Roxanne
17 - Can't stand losing you

Missing : Next to You and So Lonely.

NOTES:
- The two sources didn't line up so I have very slightly slowed down the AUD tape to match the Preboard source. As the difference is less than a cent in pitch it's hard to tell which is the "correct" speed but it still sounds solid to my ears.

- The circulating version of It Ain't Me Babe from the Preboard set is an AUD recording and has not been included.

- There is a short (under a second) dropout in the preboard tape during Tangled Up In Blue.

Notes
Front cover has a picture of Mike, Sammy, and Edward on stage. "A.F.U." as the title, and "Van Halen" across the bottom.
The back cover contains a picture of all four band members. Each one is labeled, so we know who they are. (grin) The track listing is printed along the bottom, and the show date (Jan. 25, 1989) is printed in yellow near the top.
The discs are somewhat plain. They have a wacky set list printed on them. Nowhere on the discs, soes it say that it contains "Van Halen". Each of the song titles is similar to the actual title. But only if you are familiar with Van Halen, would you be able to tell which song is which.
This is an above average audience recording. Everything comes through nice and clear without too much, if any, crowd noise. To compare with any other VH boot, it would on a par slightly below "Rocking My Hometown", with the exception of a slight noticeable tape hiss.
This show was recorded in Osaka, Japan during the "OU812" tour after the conclusion of the "Monsters of Rock" tour. This, however, is not noted on the disc's packaging and the listener is left clueless as to the actual location of the concert. This is rectified after the fourth track of Disc 1 when Sammy says "Okay, Osaka!" and proceeds to tell the audience about Mike's indulgence for any and all forms of alcohol.
Sammy refers to Track 2 of Disc 1 as "Hot Summer Night", rather than "Summer Night".
During the bass solo Mike plays a small snippet of "Dueling Banjos", a song from the "Deliverance" soundtrack, then launches into "Runnin' With The Devil". Unfortunately, "RWTD" doesn't run the full length. Sammy enlists the aid of the audience to sing the chorus, then segues into "Why Can't This Be Love".
During Sammy's intro of "Mine All Mine" you can hear the recording device being bumped around, but it only lasts for a quick second.
There is virtually no audience screaming in between each song, so hearing Sammy's between-song banter is easy. This is due to the Japanese concert audience giving the performers the common courtesy and respect of listening to what the artist has to say, and paying close attention so that they can understand what they have to say as well.
"Best Of Both Worlds" starts out almost identical as it was performed on "Live Without A Net", but then pauses briefly so the band can perform a small bit of "A Political Blues". Also, towards the end of "It's Only Rock 'n' Roll" Van Halen plays a quick snippet of "Pleasure Dome", believe it or not, then segues back into "You Really Got Me". The version of "Rock And Roll" on this disc is marginal, at best. Alex noticeably misses a few beats during the intro, and there's a quick bit of static towards the end of the song.
Overall, a really good double disc set. Obviously not a soundboard recording, but the sound is still clear and good, with a slight echo, and can be improved upon with an EQ in order to balance everything out. The tape hiss that's evident on Disc 1 is also on Disc 2, but just slightly less. If you like Van Halen, then this disc is a must-have to add to your collection, but look hard because it is rare.

Title    (Funbags 063)
Date    20-Sep-2021
Venue    Birmingham Arena, Birmingham
Country    England

First show and seemingly first shared recording from The Last Domino? tour.  This recording is from the first night at the Birmingham Utilita Arena (NIA) on Monday 20th September 2021.

I won't pass comment on the performance, people can draw their own conclusions, but the show was generally well received.  I was very impressed by the stage setup and lighting which I felt was much better than the 2007 tour.  Sadly the sound wasn't brilliant where we were sat (on the floor, section F).  We also had a couple of annoying coke'd up women to my friend's right, but that's always going to be the way with arena shows.

Originally torrented at my website https://www.genesis-movement.org / https://torrent.genesis-movement.org

Lineage : CoreSound Binaural's -> Edirol R-09HR -> Adobe Audtion level normalisation.  No other tweaking done.

Enjoy the recording, don't share as MP3 or upload to YouTube and definitely don't sell it!  Support the band as always and buy some merch :)

I've seen Yes so many times over the years that I have lost count!  Also seen the various incarnations of Yes including the 1980's Anderson-less version.  I have to say that John Davision does a fine job taking the reins of lead singer.  Tough job to have.  And the fact that Yes was playing 3 albums in sequence and in their entirely was just great!  I love all 3 albums.  2.5 hours of glorious Yes music captured on video with dubbed audio.  You can't go wrong :-)

A special thanks to ravingandroooling for his 24/48 audio of the show!  And nice to be able to meet before and after the show.  Good to know that there are other Yes fanatics (and tapers) out there!  This is some of the best video I have ever shot.  I was up in the balcony with no obstructions other than the occasional person walking by and since I knew the format of the show I could time battery changes accurately.  Overall, if you are a Yes fan, you can't help but love this video.  Parts of it will send chills down your spine.  My favorite parts are the middle portion of And You And I, Awaken, and A Venture and Turn of the Century (last 2 becasue they were rarely played prior to this tour).

As always, this recording is to be traded freely and NEVER SOLD.  It's BY FANS FOR FANS.  Enjoy the show and, if you attended, relive the music!  And lastly, ENJOY!!!  Art work is included.

Welcome to Volume 61 of the "Two Of Us" Master Series.

Between 1983 and 2002 there was likely not a taper or taping duo more active than the "Two Of Us". For the better part of a decade and a half they taped over 250 artists with an array being taped multiple times.

If you collect Springsteen then you are already familiar with some of their work, "fmcleanboots" has posted a half dozen or so of their "Tunnel Of Love" tour shows but has decided to pass the baton.

What you don't know is their passion was not just for Springsteen but for music and that passion runs deep. It is astonishing how many artists they taped.

They followed tours taping club shows, theater shows, arena shows, big artists, mid-level artists and local artists. If they were following a tour and the tour had an off night they'd see who else was playing that night to tape.

Always focused on enjoyment of the show as the priority, tickets were for the most part acquired outside of the venue as they worked to obtain the best possible seats, continually trading up until the correct seats were acquired.

The results of this were the captures are uniformly excellent but on occasion the start of the show was sacrificed as a trade-off for the seats. The heavy lifting was done by the Sony WM-D6C and an external Shure Mic before moving to DAT for the last couple of years.

None of their masters have ever been circulated and have been safely stored for the past three to four decades in a climate controlled environment. Tapes transferred so far are in pristine condition.

Though we may do some mini releases of a series of shows in order for one portion of a tour for the most part shows will not be released in order, there are just too many of them.

This will be a very exciting series and we hope along the way we upgrade existing circulating audio and offer up shows that do not have any circulating audio.

We hope you enjoy the ride, this is definitely not a dark ride.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse @ Madison Square Garden - NYC, NY August 19, 1996

Solid capture of a great tour with Neil & Crazy Horse really stretching out at times firmly placing the focus on archival material. Two Of Us captured at least two nights and possibly more that we haven't gotten to yet.

Download also includes a newspaper review of the show.

Thanks to "Two Of Us" and their dedication to capturing all these great shows as well as trusting me to be the caretaker of their work. Also, a big thank you to my friend "fmcleanboots" for putting me in touch and laying the groundwork that has resulted in this release and finally to professor goody for always being "on call" to ensure we're at the correct pitch...we've barely scratched the surface.

Artwork included...

REM 1984-07-24 Warner Theater, Washington DC

24 July 1984 - Warner Theater, Washington DC

CDRs from snail mail trade>EAC>Flac Level 6>you

I have no taper information for this. However the sound is very clean and there is little hiss, so this seems to be a very low-gen source.

This was originally turned-up by Brett as I recall and shared among the hardcore collectors. I got this from Eric von Pariscarters within a few days of the original circulation.

Quality is fairly decent, bit distant, but clean.

During B11 James Brown gives a shout out to Chubby Checker, who is in the audience.
This may or may not be the complete performance, but this is everything that was on the original cassette.
