There are some standout performances here which stops this stadium recording from otherwise being a
collectors only recording, I feel. As audience recordings go it's an above average sound quality
recording, however as it sounds like it's recorded in a bit of an 'enormodome', that, and possibly
the repetition of performing a similar set means it lacks something.

Highlights in the first half of the show for me are Some like it hot, which struts along finely here,
and Dreams to Remember. Robert and the band take this in a more laid back, less impassioned form than
in other live shows from this time, however I do love Robert's singing on this beautiful song, and
this one is still a keeper for me.

In the second half, Pride is another stand out on this recording! Performed with passion and panache,
the audience love it, a girl near the taper yelps little screams during this song, and the largely
acapella treamtment here does seem to have been a showstopper. The audience reaction - which is not
intrusive here - actually helps.

Woke up laughing, like on the Manchester 88 recording, sounds lovely with the bells playing on it, and
it is clearer here too. Robert's intones this very nicely, even though he had become a little hoarse by
this point in the gig, and the backing vocals work beautifully here - this does feel like one of the
best performances of this song to me, for these reasons, a very touching and restrained performance.

On a technical note, there is a small skip around 19 seconds into Simply Irresistible. I had downloaded
this twice - both copies were practically the same, same source etc etc - and this skip was on both sets
I had downloaded of this.

Finally, Addicted To Love once more, like the Manchester show, once more includes some lyrics from The
Beatles' 'Yellow Submarine' towards the end.

I did enjoy this show, despite my reservations - it's that hollow sound which even the best band cannot
break through easily, a lack of feel and intimacy to the sound which was an issue. However I still came
away feeling I had come as close to experiencing a live 1988 show by Robert and his band, with a 'that
was what it was like to have been there' feeling, as let's face it, far back in a stadium the sound will
mean some aspects of a show don't always come across so well.

The only changes made on this torrent were fixing SBE's, adding my thoughts to this text file, and fresh
checksums.

If this is for you, enjoy.
