This tape is 2nd generation, I have been assured.
This is very close to the complete concert. TT: 83:44
I'm grading this (as always, "IMHO") as a vg to vg+
tape, 7.5-8.5/10; see reasons below...

I was at this show but since it WAS over 30 years ago, I don't
recall too much about it. This is what I remember: Ozzy was
acting very high and kept telling us how high he was and
repeatedly asked us if we were high. The band was VERY loud
and the concert was excellent. I can't recall the opening act
if there was one. I think that the show lasted ~ 90 minutes because
I don't remember thinking that the show was overly long. The one
thing that I DO clearly remember as an impressionable lad of 22
was stepping over the bodies of the unconscious and comatose in
the area in front of the stage after the concert was over and I
was on my way home. How people could get so fucked up that they
couldn't leave under their own steam was beyond me. Yeah, it was one
of those big-time Pittsburgh concert nights......
Finally, you may be wondering how I know the generation of the tape
that I'm upping. Well, I'm originally from outside Pittsburgh and
as I got involved in bootleg concert tapes, I started meeting other
Pittsburgh people with the same interests and eventually met the guy
that said that he taped the show. Other people I met agreed that this
tape was recorded by this person. Not really solid proof, I know, but
not everybody you meet will lie to you. It was good enough for me.
Now a brief description of the recording, good points and bad.......
The good points:
1) This is very close to the complete show. I was there, but
I don't remember what the encore was, if there was an encore...
2) There are no serious speed problems with this show.
Very little wow and flutter, no speed ups/slow downs and it
sounds to me like it runs at the correct speed, although
at times Ozzy sounds a little funky.
3) All instruments and vocals are pretty clear; this recording
was made close to the stage in a large venue (a hockey rink for
those unfamiliar with what used to be called the Civic Arena).
The signal is STRONG. This is NOT a "distant" recording !
4) Amazingly, there is very little if any distortion in this
recording.
5) Also amazingly, there is NO talking, screaming, whistling,
shrieking or any other audience bullshit present close to the
taper on this recording. I think that everybody there that
night was WAY TOO STONED !
6) This is the RAW tape. I did NOT mess with the
speed or attempt any EQing, "remastering", etc.
You're getting what I have. The only thing that I
did was to convert the tape to 2 huge wav files and
then split those wav files into the individual tracks.
7) I'm very sure that this tape is fairly uncirculated
and rare AT THIS GENERATION LEVEL. Grab it if you want it.....
The bad points:
1) There is a constant background rumble or whoosh to this
tape which you can hear on headphones. It's only audible
between songs. Not that big of a deal, I'm sure it's due
to the rather cheap unit that was used to tape this show.
Remember, you're hearing 1976 !!! The rumble is NOT really
intrusive and even on phones, you'll quickly get used to it.
2) The tape DOES sound like it was made on really cheap
equipment but what can you do ? At least we have this
historic document and most of this tape sounds better than
you think...
As always, if you have a better-sounding version of this concert,
by all means PLEASE UPLOAD IT!!! If you wish to remaster this
show AND YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING, go ahead and remaster it
as long as you up it here on Dime for everybody to enjoy.

This 2nd gen tape has NOT been widely circulated so JUMP ON IT !!!
A very heavy show which really shows the excellence that was Black
Sabbath in 1976. I will post a sample or two shortly for those of you
still undecided, but even with the earlier described conditions under
which the concert was taped, I think you'll find that this is a fairly
good-sounding tape considering the technology present in 1976 and a
welcome addition to any Black Sabbath fan's collection. Well, thanks
for reading this and Mr. Natural would like to add these few comments:
have fun, don't freak out, remember that Ozzy is very proud that you're
high and by all means, enjoy the concert!!!
