Sound quality is very good - I'd rate it a B-/B. It's a pleasant listen
and a great set from a band at the peak of their game.

This show was the first of 2 nights, rescheduled from June. Uriah Heep did
not play. despite what setlistFM  says, I am almost positive, as I think they
left the Leppard tour after August 20th, and they played Detroit at Harpo's a
few nights prior, though they would have had it not been rescheduled. Also
included is a review of the show from a local paper.

--2026 Work--

--Converted the Charlie Miller Master Reel source from Flac to wavs and the Clugston AUD from shn to wavs using Trader's
Little Helper. Edited the sources together with crossfades, volume adjustment and channel swapping all done using
Roxio Sound Editor (2009). Adjusted the speed and pitch so everything would match using WavePad (2024).
This was a total labor of love and I enjoyed working on this every second - I hope you enjoy the results.

Length: 129:26

Notes:
The second night of seven NJ/NYC shows carries over the same energy as the first night's show. Like most Who shows, "My Generation" is the jumping-off point for some great jamming. This show features Roger doing a little bit of "Relay" leading into Pete's "You've Got Rock and Roll" which will appear later in the week as well at MSG. This is followed by "Blue Black White" which in one form or another is played at all the NJ/NY shows.

We long believed Pete recorded demos of some of the improvisations done on this tour: "Blue Black White" (and later Red), "I'm London (from the first night in Passaic, not to be confused "London Blues"), "That's Rock and Roll" (this night played as "You've Got Rock and Roll"), "I Am An Animal" and 'Cat's In The Cupboard'(the latter two would appear on Pete's solo masterpiece Empty Glass). Later in the year they would add "How Can You Do It Alone" and "Dance It Away" (later recorded by the Who and Pete respectively).

It is amusing to note that the band seems to know Free's "Alright Now" better than its own "Pictures Of Lily!"  If only they'd been using Teleprompters then. They close the show with a great "Big Boss Man" which appears at this show in it's entirety for the first time.

EXTRAS
Sugar Mountain (w/patch)
Powderfinger (w/patch

After the source mentioned above was shared from the Master I pulled my 1st generation copy of this show out because I knew I got it from an old taper friend about 2 weeks after the show took place and it wasn't the same taper as the other source.

So here you have a second source that was taped VERY close to the stage, instruments are clean, have excellent separation and up front with no echo or distance to the sound at all.  In addition there is no audience noise, no screams, no talking and only distant clapping between songs.  It sounds like he isolated himself somehow from the audience around him.

The version of Southern Man on this source is 3:33 long and only missing the first version starting with Coe singing the second verse.
In addition, Country Home is complete on this version.

Known flaws on this source are a splice during Sugar Mountain (missing about 30 seconds) and the first 20 seconds missing from Powderfinger.
Small microphone bump during Comes A Time.

So here's were I've given you the choice of burning the original they way it is with very slight fade ins and outs where the cuts are OR you can
choose to insert the two songs with patches from the Toneye source shared earlier that I have put in the "Extras" folder.  I've indexed it so you can flawlessly insert the patched songs.

I hope Toneye doesn't mind me using his source to patch my source, if so my apologies.

For those that have to have it all, you could burn this original, burn this with the patches, burn the Toneye original and use my source to patch the Toneye source, burn that and have a whopping 4 versions of this show:-)

Train Kept a Rollin’
I Can’t Quit You
Dazed and Confused
You Shook Me, White Summer / Black Mountain Side
How Many More Times
Communication Breakdown

Speed-corrected and pitch-corrected by MattyJoe.

This is the second set of Led Zeppelin shows at the Fillmore East in 1969, the first set
being on 1/31 and 2/1.

The speed/pitch are still not perfect but they are much better than before, especially
on Train Kept A Rollin'and Communication Breakdown. I Can't Quit You Baby and White Summer
sound off-pitch at some points but on-pitch at others. This was my first attempt at speed/pitch
correction so please don't crucify me! I didn't use any EQ.
Overall I would consider this recording to be a Fair audience. It's hard to hear what Plant says
in-between songs and there's a lot of distortion from "mic overload" (mostly on the guitar). But
it's certainly not unlistenable.

Thanks to Dimitrios on DIME for originally uploading this.

Led Zeppelin

New York
Fillmore East

Bootleg Title: Early Days, Latter Days
Bootleg Label: None (Fan Release)

Audience Recording
Sound Quality: 5

I'm seeding this in response to a request.

Track List:
1. Train Kept A Rollin'
2. I Can't Quit You
3. Dazed and Confused
4. You Shook Me
5. White Summer
6. How Many More Times (medley)
7. Communication Breakdown

Here's another show that your friends probably don't have. Add it to your
list, and make them jealous! The set "Early Days, Latter Days" contains this
show, along with 7/24/73, 4/9/77, and 4/19/77. All of those shows are
available in better quality, and I don't have the ED/LD versions. This is
a pretty difficult show to find, available only as "Legendary Fillmore Tapes"
on the Savege Beast label, a fan release called "Fillmore East," and this fan
release.

Enjoy!

The Rolling Stones 1978-07-08 Soldier Field Chicago,IL(1978 American Tour series Vol 15)

Volume 15

8th July 1978

(CHICAGO)

8th July 1978: Chicago, Illinois, Soldier Field

This concert appears in particular in 2 volumes published by VGP: "Tight Dresses And Tampax" (VGP 145) and "Satisfaction Guaranteed" (VGP 378).

As usual, the recordings are now de-clicked and the phase adjusted. To merge them I used VGP 378 as speed reference (it’s on the left channel when VGP 145 is on the right channel).

Between the tracks I compensated a 2 second gap in the VGP 145 version.

CD1 :

01 - introduction

02 - Let It Rock

03 - All Down The Line

04 - Honky Tonk Women

05 - Star Star

06 - When The Whip Comes Down

the first second comes from VGP 378

07 - Lies

from 4’59 to 5’21 - 22 seconds come from VGP 145

08 - Miss You

09 - Beast Of Burden

from 5’03 to 6’01 - 58 seconds come from VGP 378

10- Just My Imagination

11 Shattered

from 4’56 to 5’01 - 5 seconds come from VGP 145

CD2:

01 - Respectable

02 - Far Away Eye

03 - Love In Vain

04 - Tumbling Dice

05 - Happy

from 3’31 to 3’41 - 10 seconds come from VGP 378

06 - Sweet Little Sixteen

07 - Brown Sugar

08 - Jumpin' Jack Flash

a one second gap is compensated in the VGP 378 version and a two second gap in the VGP 145

09 - encore

from 1’42 to 1’44 a two second gap is compensated in the VGP 145

10 - Satisfaction

BONUS :

Part I - snippets from TV reports:

Some excerpts from the concert were broadcast by American television stations. To improve their sound, I merged them with the VGP 145 version:

11 – intro by TV news anchor (comes from Channel 5)

12 – Lies (comes from Channel 5)

13 – Jumpin’ Jack Flash (comes from Channel 5)

14 – Honky Tonk Women (comes from Channel 2)

15 – All Down The Line (comes from Channel 2)

Note: The videos containing "Let It Rock," "Miss You," “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and "Satisfaction" have a poor audio quality. They will also be presented by BlueTurns2Grey, but with the merges
mentioned above as soundtrack, which therefore don’t need to be repeated here.

Part II - another version :

A different version of "Sweet Little Sixteen" is featured on the vinyl "Long Summer 1978" (AR 092), here it is presented merged with the VGP 145 version.

16 – Sweet Little Sixteen (Long Summer 1978/VGP 145)

The Rolling Stones 1978-07-06 Masonic Temple Auditorium Detroit, MI(1978 American Tour series Vol 14)

Volume 14

6th July 1978

(DETROIT)

6th July 1978: Detroit, Michigan, Masonic Temple Auditorium

Note: A soundboard recording was made by Bob Clearmountain (13 tracks appeared in the KBFH
broadcast).

Several years ago I released a version of this show as ‘Keith Doesn’t Got The Pick’ (FP 017).
On it I used ‘Abandoned In Detroit’ (DAC 068) completed for the last 3 tracks with audience recordings coming from ‘Live In Detroit’ (RDP RS031) and ‘It Will Wig You Out’ (Rotting Rott).

To present something different, I decided to offer merged versions, using also the JEMS archive that appeared in the meantime (the version presented by Krw_co was running 2% too slowly).

CD1 :

01 - Let It Rock

in the banter, a five second gap in the DAC version is now compensated

02 - All Down The Line

in the banter, a 0,5 second gap in the DAC version is now compensated

03 - Honky Tonk Women

04 - Star Star

05 - When The Whip Comes Down

06 - Lies

in the banter, a five second gap in the DAC version is now compensated

07 - Miss You

in the banter, a 0,4 second gap in the DAC version is now compensated

08 - Beast Of Burden

the last 9 seconds come from the DAC version

09 - Just My Imagination

10 - Shattered

the last 15 seconds come from the DAC version

CD2:

01 - Respectable

the first 37 seconds come from the DAC version

the last 59 seconds come from the JEMS version

02 - Far Away Eyes

in the banter, a one second gap in the DAC version is now compensated

03 - Love In Vain

04 - Tumbling Dice

in the banter, a 0,5 second gap in the DAC version is now compensated

05 - Happy

the last 15 seconds come from the JEMS version

06 - Sweet Little Sixteen

the last 11 seconds come from the JEMS version

07 - Brown Sugar

both versions were incomplete, the complete song is now rebuilt: the segment from 0’16 to 0’55 come from the JEMS version and the last 42 seconds come from the RDP version

08 - Jumpin' Jack Flash

the last 20 seconds come from the RDP version

09 - outro

comes from the RDP version
