COMMENT

Two fascinating Lovesexy aftershows. The sound quality on both, while being very good, has a fair amount of tape hiss and the Grosse Freiheit recording is incomplete and has a number of drop-outs and the occasional fade. Unfortunately the Camden Palace recording is also incomplete and Sabotage have inserted parts from the circulating video of the show (Fargnoli's footage from the BBC Omnibus Documentary) which makes the actual Camden Palace recording sound rather poor in comparison - not one of Sabotage's better idea's IMO. The Freiheit show features a number of rare and exclusive moments. The piano medley from the Lovesexy Tour is performed, albeit slightly differently from the main show's performance. 'People Without' is again performed, however this time it is more an instrumental jam than the Het Paard van Troje improvised version. Taylor Dane guests onstage for 'Still Would Stand All Time' and proceeds to attempt to scream Boni off the stage. 'God Is Alive' features a short speech by Prince (called Camille's Story on the booklet) and explains his reasoning for pulling the Black Album (from Camille's perspective). The Camden Palace show again is incomplete and is a rather messy affair. The closing 'Miss You' has been taken from the BBC Omnibus documentary, however it lasts barely 20 seconds before it fades out and it's inclusion is rather baffling and pointless. The remainder of the show is an excellent aftershow from the 88 period and includes a lengthy up-beat groove on 'Strange Relationship' with some guitar work from 'Rave', and Mica Paris guesting on 'Just My Imagination'. Overall this is not Sabotage's best effort. The editing and inclusion of some parts is rather strange, however as it is their first releases, and they have gone on to bigger and better releases - then it's excusable. That said, I actually really enjoy the Grosse Freiheit aftershow, so purely for it's inclusion this release gets the thumbs up from me.

Yes 1977-11-03 - New Bingley Hall - Stafford

So travel back 30 years, the UK leg of the Going For The One tour is under way, and here is night 2 of a 3-night stint in Stafford, UK. The recording, got CDs in a trade, was just an 'ok' recording which I tweaked, of course, to bring out what best I could. Its at least a 2nd generation if not more. As an added bonus I have included a 20 minute backstage interview with Steve Howe recorded by the brother of a fellow UK taper from way back. I don't believe this interview has ever been circulated (it was conducted for print I think).

Audio tweaks: channel volume fluctuations, EQ, audio compression for voice, speed correction, remove hum at 83hz

Yes 1977-10-29 - Wembley Arena 29 October 1977 - London

Yes
1977 Going for the One Tour
Wembley Arena
London, England

The date 7-7-7 marked the 30th anniversary of the release of Going For The One, reuniting the "Classic Yes Line-up," so I thought it would be fun to seed the shows I have in my collection on or near the dates of their 30th anniversaries.

Audience recordings by Mick Dillingham and Steve Darton
Lineage: master tape (unknown gear) -> 24 bit/48 kHz WAV -> Sound Forge -> 16 bit/44.1 kHz WAV -> FLAC

Art created brilliantly by Jamie Lockhead
Tapes transferred professionally by Joey
Mastered eclectically by TheTooleMan, 2005

This collection is dedicated to the memory of my son, Danny Toole, who saw his first Yes concert at age 10, and afterward met Steve Howe and shook hands with Jon Anderson. Danny passed away on October 21 at the age of 20, as the result of an accidental fall. He touched many lives with his brilliance during his short time on Earth. His true potential was only beginning to be realized. Danny forever enriched the lives of his mother, his brother Eric, and me. He will remain in our hearts forever.

NOTE: the front jewel case art, when properly arranged, creates a large-scale work.

Yes 1977-10-09 - Morris F X Jeff Municipal Auditorium - New Orleans

Whoops! Forgot I had this Crappy Master. This should be my last in the series. A little bit of a sad story goes with this show. My wife and I made the 3 hour trip to New Orleans without tickets to the show, but I was confident I would find a scalper and I was willing to pay a fair sum for a pair. The doors to the auditorium were not open yet and there were a gazillion people milling around outside. Eventually I found a pair of tickets and paid double the face value ($30 for the pair; hey, it was 1977). Soon the doors opened to the place and everyone pushed and shoved their way to get in and my pregnant wife was nearly crushed in the crowd. People were screaming at each other and glass doors were broken as well. It was festival seating (for those that don't know what that was, it meant every man for himself to get a good seat). Anyway to make a long story short, 2 days later my wife miscarried and to this day blames the commotion at the show. The good news is we had 4 kids after that, all healthy.

Besides being recorded with crappy equipment, the crowd noise is pretty bad. The first CD opens with a scream from the drunk sitting behind us. He proceeds to scream for no apparent reason all during the show until at one pont he loses his voice. Its sort of humorous and you'll get to hear it. He tries hard, but nothing comes out.

This is obviously only the first 68+ minutes of this show.
So the next obvious questions is....does anyone have the rest??
And does any one have a "non-bootleg" source??

This one is dedicated to "Gromek" & "Lestat" for the past amazing work they did on my "Chord Of Life" LP
Feel free to do your magic again!

I will let the artist & their music speak for themselves.

Comments from YOU, the listener will be much more interesting.

ENJOY THE MUSIC!
