This is a truly superlative set of songs. In the Spring of 2005, violinist Elana Fremerman had joined Bob Dylan's band for a tour of the United States, and she contributed significantly to the overall sound of the band. At the same time, recording technology had progressed to the point of capturing audience recordings that often surpassed the soundboard tapes of previous decades. These factors combined to offer one of the most coherent, compelling compilations yet offered on The Thousand Highways Collection.
Highlights include the best renditions of "Absolutely Sweet Marie," "Honest With Me," and "Mississippi" ever played outside of a studio setting. "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" is played with a vocal unrivaled since it had been played in the mid1990s. The collection also includes a rare outing of "Hazel," including a pleasant violin interlude. Outside of these highlights, the remainder of the songs prove quite strong as well "Stuck Inside of Mobile," "Moonlight," and "Tweedle Dum & Tweedle Dee" are enhanced not by violin solos, but rather by the presence of a violin on their rhythmic sections, propelling the tracks along delightfully.
A handful of tracks didn't make it past the cutting room floor. "Folsom Prison Blues" was played to great acclaim in Reno, but I didn't think the vocals measured up to past outings of this classic. Similarly, "Sing Me Back Home" is an extraordinary song, but I didn't think it quite came together in the performances. I hope you'll forgive these omissions.
While Fremerman would depart the band at the end of this brief tour, the violin sound lingered on, thanks to the presence of multiinstrumentalist Donnie Herron. Never again, though, would it have such a prominent role. Luckily, due to our community's generous tapers, we've been left with extraordinary documentation of this unique period in Bob Dylan's performance career.
Thanks for listening, CS

Decent, listenable audience recording. A bit "compressed" sounding at times, in some ways closer to an "Aud 3" rating but overall it deserves a slightly better rating.

Notes:
All video sources are VHS tapes received from Andre F. Source 2 was noted as being "extremely rare".
Source 1: middle distance, left of stage, intelligent use of zoom, good colour. This was the original HUG003DVD, but I think this one's a slightly lower-gen version.
Source 2: closer in, right of stage, very sharp picture indeed. Unfortunately incomplete.
Source 3: mirror-image screen video. Colour can be oversaturated.
Source 4: "right way" screen video. Mostly black and white, and has datestamp in lower corner. Generally a sharper than source 3.
Audio fix notes for soundtrack:
Side 1 speed adjusted at 100.5%
Side 2 speed adjusted at 99.8266%
Apparent join in audio between Let's Dance and Stay - around 5-6 seconds of crowd noise removed - left as is.
Big chunk missing from audio from the end of Suffragette City and into the start of Fame. 1:28 clip copied from soundtrack of video 4 to bridge (on Video).
On audio, crowd noise after Suffragette City faded to make acceptable join, so missing part not edited in.
1 minute of crowd noise removed from the encore break ON THE DVD ONLY.
Sector boundary errors resolved using TLH.

The second--"Collected Classics 2010"--is no longer on the tracker.
This a a collection of performances with other artists, rare performances, and extraordinary performances. Track quality is A or A+ except for maybe 3 tracks which are still B+ or A-. A sample of the weakest of these tracks is provided in the Comments.
Lineage: tracks downloaded from DIME > HD > editing* > TLH > FLAC (level 8) > you
*Various tracks were shortened using CD Wave Editor. Then, Audacity was used to fade in and fade out on certain tracks, to amplify or decrease the volume as needed, and to add silence at the end of some tracks.

Notes: Tapes came from Bickle, he did not record this. A few rough spots where there are tape flips, no music affected. Some sound modulation at the start of D2. Soundcheck was taped from outside so you hear the WMMR announcement over and over while you listen to the music, it's not very good.
Enjoy, Ivan.

TheCommish notes: Grabbed this back in Sept. 2011 over at The Traders Den when it was shared there by victhedog. Nice FM broadcast of Henry Lee, who was supposed the be the next John Mellencamp back in the day before he ran into drug problems. Loved watching his funny video for "I Wish I Had A Girl" back when MTV actually played videos.
I actually saw Henry Lee play at The Stone Pony around 1989-1990 where he had The Rainmakers open up for him. Back then, Henry Lee actually had some decent buzz.
For this torrent, I didn't alter any of the original FLAC files but I did rename them with the correct song titles and I'm providing this new text file to also reflect the correct song titles. Enjoy!

I equalized, balanced, and optimized the volume of the recording. I removed the blank spaces and fixed the tape flip. I checked and corrected the speed. Then I split the recording into song tracks. I did the editing, mastering (tweaking), analog to digital transfer of this release. Screen caps of Audacity before (raw) and after (final) are included.
Don't add to, change or remove any of these files. Keep the text and md5 files unaltered, together with the FLAC's
Don't rename directories or file names if you share this. My concern is that when people rename them they drop information like date, venue, location, T number. This information is useful to others when searching for or deciding which version of a show they want or already have.
Don't alter the sound of this recording. The T releases are not to be used as a source for anyones so called remastering projects. I'm also making available the raw source recording I worked from for this release. It's has (T source raw) in the folder name. Anyone that wants to work on the raw source recording is free to do that as long as you mention the source tape you used. Don't use T-687 version as a source because that one shows what I can do. Use the (T source raw) recording for your source, it's the one I worked from. Show us how much better you can do than I did.

Dan Lampinski recorded over 100 concerts in the Providence/Boston area, mostly between 1974 and 1978. His earliest recordings were made with an internal microphone deck, and though they are somewhat lo-fi compared to his later work, some very great moments in rock history were captured for posterity. In late 1974 he bought a Sony TC-152SD tape recorder, a Sony ECM-99 stereo microphone, and began using Maxell cassettes. He was also fortunate enough to have a friend who provided excellent taping seats for many shows, resulting in high quality recordings. In 1977, he switched over to a Nakamichi 550 tape recorder, two Nakamichi CM-300 microphones, and continued using Maxell cassettes.
He recorded many of the major 70's bands: Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult, Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull, ELP, Kiss, Black Sabbath, The Who, Al Stewart, Alice Cooper, Jeff Beck, Bruce Springsteen, Supertramp, Jean-Luc Ponty, Moody Blues, Neil Young, The Faces, Rush, Rick Wakeman, Kansas, as well as several "under the radar" acts.
Since Dan never traded copies of his recordings, they are all essentially uncirculated. Some copies were made for friends, but these releases are the first time most of these recordings have ever seen the light of day, and are direct from his master cassettes. No EQ'ing has been done to any of the transfers. Feel free to EQ, matrix, patch, etc and re-post if you like, just give Dan credit for the original recording.
Dan was very meticulous about taking good care of his tapes and is very pleased that these recordings will now circulate among the trading community. Please honour his kindness and generosity by sharing these recordings freely.

Some music in the background of the audience noise, early on disc 2. Not sure if legacy recording on the tape, or more simply someone playing a radio in the crowd - but it's across two tape sides, so probably the latter.
Tape join between Beat Of Your Drum and The Jean Genie - minor fade in.
Sector Boundary Errors fixed with TLH.

Notes
iZotope RX2 denoiser - big clump of mess to removed.
First seven songs seem to have been recorded from outside of the venue, with a fair bit of noise from motor vehicles.
Noise removed between songs:
1. The Motel @ 1:45
2. The Man Who Sold The World @ 3:33 and 3:44
3. Boys Keep Swinging @ 3:21, 4:44 and 4:55
4. My Death - from 4:58-5:23 the noise of reversing motor vehicles gets louder and louder, then the remaining minute of the song is completely lost to engine noise. Faded @ 5:20 and racket removed.
Further motor noise removed @ 5:57. In between, a number of pops from kit being touched are reduced.
5. Not a lot I could do about motor noise over the last minute or so of Moonage Daydream.
Gap between Moonage Daydream and Look Back In Anger - removed with fades - significant change to sound quality after the join.
Car door slamming removed immediately before the start of Look Back In Anger.
Tape flip between Look Back In Anger and The Hearth's Filthy Lesson - seamless.
Edit between The Man Who Sold The World and A Small Plot Of Land is on the source tape.
Gap between Strangers When We Meet and I'm Deranged used for disc split.
Start of disc two seems to be outside again.
Substantial chat with passer-by removed from I'm Deranged @ 4:43.
Tape flip between Breaking Glass and We Prick You - seamless.
Conversation with passer-by that completely obliterates the music (38 seconds) at 45 seconds. Simply removed.
5½ seconds of silence between We Prick You and Nite Flights removed.
8½ seconds of silence between Nite Flights and My Death removed.
Motor vehicle noise removed from after My Death @ 6:21.
7½ seconds of silence between Hallo Spaceboy and Moonage Daydream removed.
