Not my own recording, but a low generation copy bought at a record shop in The Hague not long after the show. Tape flip between track 11 and 12, and some minor cuts throughout but all songs are complete (no music lost). Cover scan included (as if that's any use to anyone - no idea if the pic was actually taken at Loreley).

Not the best mix ever (bass pretty upfront, guitars way in the back), but a great show. This was the first Alarm tape I had and I've always enjoyed playing this. Good to hear it again...

Acts on the bill that day (in order of appearance): Greg Kihn Band, Paul Brady, Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble, The Alarm, Little Steven & the Disciples of Soul. - frankvink

Comments by NB: This is an excellent audience recording, with some very fine performances of songs. This includes awesome performances of Embryo, Atom Heart Mother and One of These Days. The sound quality is also superb coming from the original Master recording, and nice Stereo. The CDs I received had many tape pauses resulting in a sort of "zzup" noise. I have carefully removed these and repaired as many of the tiny and large drop-outs seamlessly, also the odd click to leave an absolutely superb re-mastering job with plenty of high-end frequencies making it a joy to listen to. I have spent several hours on this and it's one of my best re-masters so far. Hiss has also been reduced without leaving any artifact noises. This is certainly one of the best recordings and performances from 1971.

Sound Warning/grade: enthousiastic and loud audience, vg/ex.
The original recording suffers from distortions in the bass region, therefore considerable
equalizing/removal up to 125 Hz was applied.

In 1987 my friends MJ and VP borrowed my recording equipment and went to several Neil Young
shows to record them. The masters were kindly given to me and have been traded in the past.

COMMENTS:
This is a very good concert. The band is in a talkative mood and you can pick up on some of their banter in between and during songs. The crowd is a bit rowdy. Liam warns them to stop throwing cans. Inbetween some songs they begin to chant. Supersonic or Take Me Away are probably the high-lights of the CD. The packaging is nothing spectacular. On the back, Cigarettes & Alcohol is labeled as "Cigarettes and Alcohol, You Pissheads", Take Me Away as "Some Night", D'Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman as "Basement" and Whatever as "Shakermaker". It is the complete concert. | Reviewed by Gary Szymanski <grsski@discover-net.net>

Great show, like always. And a very nice FM recording. Only a few tape flaws, but no big deal. No big cuts or anything like that.

I hope y'all enjoy this one, another classic MTB!

Huey Lewis & The News during the height of their success.

This audio comes from an Italian TV broadcast and is the longest version I've seen.

I've pitch adjusted this to match the video.

The Italian DJ talks over the beginning of a couple songs.

The crowd noise is a bit intrusive at the beginning of most songs, it affects the fidelity of the songs.

You can watch a 70 min version on youtube.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWBbomS0UIQ

The Italian broadcast had an extra song "Finally Found A Home", not included on the youtube version.

This also included an interview and So In Love (acappella).

Thanks to Mauro for the tape transfer

George Michael 1988-04-16 Sportpaleis Ahoy, Rotterdam, The Netherlands

GEORGE MICHAEL Sportpaleis Ahoy, Rotterdam, The Netherlands April 16. 1988 AUD

Last show of a four night run. (all sold out)

I got this recording from user Evelin.

Recorded on Sony WM-D6 with Sennheiser OKM II Stereo Artificial Head Microphone by user MvV.
1st Gen cassette TDK SA-60.

Transferred to Flac and editted by user FREDHEADSET.

Since user Evelin has some difficulties uploading, I will do this for him.

George Michael embarked on his massive sold out world tour in 1988. In the set list of the show there were a couple of songs from the Wham! era ("Everything She Wants" and "I'm Your Man") and some standards like "Lady Marmalade" or "Play That Funky Music".
While on tour, new singles off Faith continued to be released which peaked at #1 ("One More Try", "Monkey"); another ("Kissing a Fool") peaked at #5 in the U.S., definitely confirming upon Michael Mega Star status.

The live 'Faith' tour followed in February 1988, taking the hits package to a momentous opening date at Tokyo's Budokan Stadium, and then on to ecstatic audiences in Australia, Europe and North America.
In June, George interrupted the tour to sing three songs at Wembley Stadium's Nelson Mandela Freedom Concert.

Line up :

JEMS is always pleased when uncirculated recordings are unearthed.

In this case, I must admit, it's difficult to contain my emotion, since JEMS is proud to be responsible for sharing this previously uncirculated recording.

As BK explains a few paragraphs below, there are many things to note, such as the fact that this concert has songs from the Hotel California album before the album itself was released.

Eventually, songs from this run of shows were released in the Eagles Live compilation and more recently in the 40th Anniversary edition of Hotel California.

We consider this recording as a great alternative to the official versions, as there are no signs of a full official release in the future.

This recording is a perfect sample of The Eagles at the peak of their career. You just need to hear "Desperado" and listen to the audience's reaction.

In terms of quality, like GaryB's Led Zeppelin recording, it is a fine audience recording for the era. Samples provided.

There are moments where the mic gets overwhelmed (as you usually expect in a '70s tape) but those moments aren't too drastic to be unlistenable.

GaryB was very careful with this recording, since there are no listenable signs of degradation and the only "imperfections" are cuts through the recording that, I imagine, were caused by the tape flips. So, aside from the aforementioned, I firmly believe that Gary did a spectacular job capturing most of the show.

Thanks to Gary for recording the concert in the first place and for being lending his master recordings to JEMS for an appropriate release. Thanks as well to BK and mjk5510 for their help in the mastering process and above all, their confidence in allowing me to be the one to give the last arrangements.

There are many things in JEMS vaults waiting to be unearthed. If you have a recording in your attic that you think has no value, contact JEMS and perhaps that "worthless" recording for you may be the holy grail of another collector.

frogster

From the man who brought you Led Zeppelin Listen To This Erik comes the only other show GaryB recorded in his youth. The year before his famous Zep tape, Gary and his friends went the final night of the Eagles’ three-show stand in advance of the release of Hotel California. They recorded with the same gear and captured the show in relatively similar quality to their effort the next year. Samples provided.

What’s fascinating about these shows is that the Eagles are playing music from Hotel California before the audience had ever heard the album, which would not be released until December. The performance is first rate and like Gary’s Zeppelin tape, he captures the audience response appealingly. The recording might be a step below the Zeppelin tape, but it is still very listenable.

Some performances from the three nights are included on the new Hotel California 40th Anniversary set and The Eagles Live, released in 1980, but this is the first full recording (minor cuts aside) from the ’76 Forum shows to come out in any form.

Transferring Gary’s tapes was a labor of love for everyone involved. First and foremost, GaryB has been a pleasure to work with and get to know. Thanks for trusting JEMS, Gary. Thanks as well to BW, who made the introduction to GaryB and whom I love dearly. Our partner mjk5510 helped out with pitch consulting and frogster took on the task of post-production and torrenting. Thank you all.

Here’s to another amazing example of finding “lost tapes.” Let’s hope there are still many more to come.

Very nice audience recording.
Excellent high energy performance in front of a hometown audience.
There is a tape flip during A.I.R.
Dan's guitar solo includes a Led Zep jam with Charlie.
The intro is the Blues Brothers recording Anthrax always uses and since it
is officially released material it had to go.  No Anthrax music is missing!

as you're probably already aware, tdb was released on april 5th, 1994. the floyd kicked of the tdb tour a few days before that on march 30th at joe robbie stadium in miami florida.

a radio program was recorded at the stadium the night of that show. it was hosted by red beard and featured interviews with the band as well as 9 tracks from the yet to be released album. it was overnighted to radio stations that were part of the "album network". it arrived at stations on 2 10 & 1/2 inch reel to reel tapes. scheduled to air on april 1st, the tapes were to be returned to the album network immediately after airing, under threat of great pain for failing.

back in '94, i worked for one such station and, of course, took the opportunity to dub myself a copy before sending it back in the mail. a while back i did a little noise reduction on the digital transfer and replaced the album tracks from the tape with audio from the cd to get the sound as clean as possible.

the running time of the show is a little over 90 minutes so as i got around to burning it on cd, i decided to pad out cd 2 with the p.u.l.s.e. environment (a.k.a. soundscape) that was included on side 4 of the cassette release of p.u.l.s.e.

comments: I think this was the 1st show Bush played in Boston, at least as a headliner.
The Toadies opened this show, and their soundman did not permit taping of them.
This was my 1st (and last) time seeing Bush, mainly to see what all the "buzz" was about.
Although from the U.K. these guys were alot bigger in the U.S.A. than in England,
especially early on. This concert includes much of the debut album, "Sixteen Stone".
There is an FM broadcast of a show from Los Angeles on this tour,
but I don't think this show was ever broadcasted anywhere.
This was around the time Bush had 2 rather big hits, "Everything Zen" and "Come Down",
which I thought was the best song in this set.
"Little Things" and "Machine Head" would soon follow in their hit parade of the mid-90's.
This is the whole show, the tape flip was just before track 8 ends, after the song ends,
before track 9 begins, so no music is missing (I don't think any talk is missing either,
just applause, so I spliced some in to make a smoother transition).
Bush's Boston debut was a fairly big deal. Their album was getting alot of airplay here.
it may not have been sold out, but close to, the place was pretty full. The sound gets
better just in time for Everything Zen (track 4, clearer path between mikes and amps).
listening to this finished product, this wasn't a bad show at all, pretty good one, actually.
Nice build-up in come down.
The Bush boys have long since moved on to bigger pastures,
but the Paradise still rocks on.
the Jon Stewart tracks were listed on my tape as being from 2001, which could be my mistake,
it may be from 1995, since Jon says it's their "network TV debut"
not likely Fox network's live TV debut for Bush would be in 2001,
(and both songs broadcasted from 1st album, the 2nd one cuts out abruptly in broadcast)
David Letterman makes the same claim in track 14
but Letterman and Stewart's shows were on different TV networks then.
the last track is definitely from a later tour, since it promotes a song from a later album.

Total Running Time: 118.09

-------------------------

Remember the one that started the MUPPET series? MUPPET01 covered the Chicago 1993 gig. MUPPET06 is the exact same gig. Why another release?, you might ask. Well, there's a valid reason: this release will blow MUPPET01 away. This one uses the 'hidden' recording of the gig. This means that the sound quality is amazing: there's no hiss, muddiness etc. like on MUPPET01. Also, it means, there's three additional songs which were not on the source I used for MUPPET01. Blood of Eden, In Your Eyes and Biko (although that one misses the very ending) are now included. Blood of Eden, in particular, is a great performance, and the song is in my opinion better than what can be found on Secret World Live.

WHAT WAS DONE?

First of all, after a 32-bit-conversion, I equalized the recording. With multiband-compression I gave the mix just a bit more balls. After that some additional equalization was done. Also, the subharmonic frequencies were removed.

Two or three tiny errors were corrected. The only error still present is about half a minute of slight static noise 5 minutes into Biko. It's not really that annoying though.

Finally, the recording was normalized.

This is probably the last release of the year. Hope to supply you with some new interesting MUPPETs next year!

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
