After the U2 show at Levis Stadium I wissed I was going to see another
Joshua Tree show so when they announced U2 and Beck at Qualcomm Stadium in
San Diego I knew I needed to go.  Getting a GA ticket was a requirement so
I posted on the U2 torrent site my need for a code and got a message from
u2lemonman who generously offered a code for 2 seats.  I got the tickets
and offered the second one to my taping brother Scooter123 and plans made.
Day of show I left my house in the SF Bay Area at 5:20AM, drove to LA and
met Scooter123 and a friend of his.  Loaded up their car and drove down to
San Diego.  We got to our cheap motel at 3:15 and checked in with my friend
Melanie who was at the venue providing intel on security.  There was lots
of conflicting info on what was and wasn't allowed in which was important
on our approach to getting gear in.  We got in and parked.  Met some other
friends and went to the GA entry gate.  Since entry was using a credit card
both of us needed to succeed or neither of us would. We walked up to the
entry and were directed to a particular line where we walked in without any
back check, wanding or patdown.  It must have been Jedi Mind Tricks.  We are
not the droids you are looking for.

Once in we got set up and found our spot dead center and a bit to the right
of the "b" stage.  It is crowded but not uncomfortable as Beck starts.  This
is not an artist I am familiar with but I found some songs to be very good.
The crowd was good until this jackass pushes between Scooter123 and me and
then parks himself right in front of me where there is no room.  He then
pushes back on me to create space, turns around and starts yelling at me that
I can't reserve space.  Somehow he got his 35mm camera in and starts taking
pictures of the screens.  I am sure you can hear the shutter clicks.  I can
only hope he sees this on a torrent site so he can see he is an idiot.  The
highlight of the Beck set was the band intros where they played snippets of a
variety of songs.  Between sets both Scooter 123 and I sat down to hold space
and save our old legs.  Many of the people around us gave us a hard time but
whatever.  We finally stood up and the break lasted forever.

U2 finally comes on as the band comes out to the "b" stage to start Sunday
Bloody Sunday.  I am looking forward to Larry Mullen Jr as everyone around me
is looking left towards Bono and the rest of the band.  The crowd is going crazy
through all of the but the loudest people are behind me.  I was very glad to be
running the MK41 hypercardiod mics as the crowd noise isn't too bad.  After the
start U2 digs into Joshua Tree which was my favorite U2 album.  I While some
people found the visuals distracting I really enjoyed them.  I have driven the
road they show in the Streets video on my way to and from my property in Joshua
Tree.  There were two other visuals that I am pretty certain I recognized.  For
the most part the crowd was great.  There was a guy behind me who was there with
his wife and teenage daughters that was really into it.  At the end of the set
you can hear him a bit but not too bad.  By the end of the set my back and legs
were feeling the effects of the long day.  The encore seemed longer than the last
time and enjoyed every second of it.  When they ended the show with Ultraviolet
and One I was done.  Made it out to the car and met everyone.  It took almost an
hour and a half to get to the hotel and we all passed out.  We woke up and went
to breakfast at the same place Melanie and Bob were staying so they met us for
breakfast.  I finally said we got to go since I had a long drive home.  Finally
made it back as the sun set and here is the show, the next morning.

Just the basic taper requests here and please no vitriol:
Don't be an ass by selling this or using it in a video that is sold
Don't modify the info file
Don't remaster and/or post on other sites that are not 100% free
If shared keep info file intact but create a second file with any changes
Don't convert to lossy formats except for personal use

We are going backwards here as I posted Milan previously
no special reason other than the best, it's the order Spot wants them placed.

Personally I thinkit's a slightly better recording than Milan but the difference really is almost academic.
It's another great recording!

Spot and I thank you for the fine comments and thanks.
We have no issue with these recordings  being placed elsewhere, after a week,
if we are credited and would prefer not to see remixes, but thats up to you.

An interesting compilation of material presented in amazing quality from TDOLZ - the best
available versions thus far.  The first four tracks from Stockholm were recorded from the
soundboard on March 14, 1969 (the exact date may still be in dispute).

As the CD back cover claims, this Stockholm material was "Taken From The Master Reel To Reel".
Statements like that are always questionable, but there's no doubt this is a clean and near
excellent recording.  This material has also been available on Tarantura's "Kicks" - which used
to be the best available version of this show - but as hinted at earlier, this release on TDOLZ
is a major upgrade from the Tarantura title.

Two tracks from the groundbreaking show at the Bath Festival on June 28, 1970 are presented in what
TDOLZ says is "Taken From The Legendary Analogue LP On KRISHNA Label". This entire show is available
on many different titles, but the sound quality has always been regarded as very poor to fair, at best.
These two tracks do provide a significantly cleaner but still slightly distorted sound from the SAME
source tape used, for example, on the 2CD title "Bath 1970" from Le-Mon Recordings. Some claim this is
recorded off the soundboard.

"Missing Links" on TDOLZ is presented in very nice packaging - typical of TDOLZ. The unique cover has also
been seen as the Turkish LP cover for Led Zeppelin II. Definitely a very good release by any standard, and
highly recommended to the collector who already has almost everything.

Bob Dylan 2004-06-24 Barrowlands Glasgow, Scotland(Masters Series 016)(DVD)

"Back again with No. 16...This is part of my Masters Series these are those of my retired friend but others may follow...All will be HQ mode so apologies that this creates extra discs but I am determined to preserve the quality as far as possible. After all those wimpy single DVDs here is a nice double to get your teeth into. And what a double. This is a legendary show, a great but scary gig from a filmer's point of view. The venue had a fierce reputation, if you were caught filming your camera was destroyed!  And Dylan gave such a performance warming to the crowd  as they sang along and actively encouraging them. Only a small part of this show has been released before and never from Master so...get on it.  Finally a word of thanks is owed to my generous friend for supplying them and my other very helpful friends who have aided in locating cameras and things and now left therby making all the work (and tapes!) possible. Well I don't sleep a lot anyways !!"

FEBRUARY 7: NATIONAL HANGOVER AWARENESS DAY : FESTIVAL OF HIDDEN PALINDROMES.

Notes: - Track 1 is done with The Late Night Band.

About "So Sad About Us" : written by Pete Townshend, originally for The Merseys, was released by The Who on the LP, 'A Quick One' (1966).
It was later famously covered by The Jam, first released as a b-side to the single, "Down in The Tube Station at Midnight" (1978).

- Track 2 is played by Breeder's choice, before a video screen of images showing happy people playing billiards.

- Track 3 (interview) features Josephine giving Conan a vampire hickey, and Conan and the band giving Kelley a laziness intervention for nodding out all the time.

- Tracks 5 & 6: 1993-12-13 - Pier 48, Seattle, WA US - Nirvana with Cypress Hill and The Breeders (filmed and aired New Year's Eve, on 'MTV Live And Loud 1993').

* Listed as stereo but I believe (sounds like and is likely) it is mono, the VCR standard for the time (1993).

* The aspect ratio is set to 16:9.

I suggest overriding it to 4:3, I believe the appropriate ratio for watching traditional American television, standard definition (SD) video.

There were no caps with the files I received. I have 4:3 VLC snapshot caps at you to sample.

Self-described as "just a bunch of rock chicks who like to play loud guitar music."

The joi de vivre of Kim & Kelley together is as infectious
as the other half the fun of going to hell: getting there.

10,000 Maniacs 1992-11-14 Memorial Gym University of Virginia Charlottesville, VA

10,000 Maniacs' "The Wishing Chair" L.P. will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year
(original release date - September 23, 1985).  Since it seems apparent that the Maniacs
are not being given the remaster / bonus tracks / box set treatment that they so richly
deserve, I've decided to upload all of my 70+ live and rare 10,000 Maniacs recordings
during the coming weeks.  Although many of these recordings will be re-seeds of previous
Dime torrents, a substantial number have never appeared on the Dime (and many others
haven't been shared since the Dime's previous incarnation as "easytree.org" circa 2005).

Enjoy!

Notes:

This is one of many excellent soundboard recordings that leaked from the band's 1992/1993 tours.  I'd love to know the story
behind the leaks - it seemed like a bunch of these recordings all appeared at the same time, a few years after this tour
ended (or maybe that's just when they finally made it into my collection).

Like most of the "Our Time in Eden" shows, this one starts out focusing primarily on greatest hits and the most popular
non-single album tracks.  However, the encore section of this particular show is very impressive, from "Maddox Table" through
to "Dust Bowl".  Most of the songs in that stretch of the show were rarely played on this tour, with the obvious exception of
"Don't Talk".  The set of cover songs is especially interesting: "Rockville" is a complete mess during both attempts, but "The
Harder They Come" and "Love Will Tear Us Apart" are thoroughly enjoyable.

Comments: Full concert compiled with two remastered sources,
- the first one from RR to the first 2 mins of STH (that I left included at the end of Disc3)
- the second for the whole Disc4 and a small patch of the intro.

The raw transfer os the Stan G. source has some speed and pitch issues and the sound is way too bright with not much bottom end.
The other source is nice sounding overall but runs too slow and has parts where the sound is duller.

There have to be a few cassette generations

on this recording.  It is a soundboard though.

Addendum (by jelinto):
I reworked "One Of These Nights" and removed the digipops and made a couple minor repairs to "Midnight Flyer" to improve the overall listening experience.  This would be tracks 1 & 2 on Disc 2.  Special thanks to the person who originally posted this show.

This bootleg was released by Japanese bootlegger called 'TNT STUDIO' over 10years ago. Now it is very difficult to obtain it.

In 1973, the next year of 'Made In Japan' album, Deep Purple visited to Japan again. This Japan tour was also the last tour of the original Mk2 line-up. The band had five concerts in four cities, Hiroshima, Nagoya, Tokyo and Osaka(two times). This bootleg contains fourth show on this Japan tour. It was June 25, 1973, at Nippon Budokan, in Tokyo. After this show, many audiences caused a riot. Because the band didn't play an encore. Originally it was scheduled to have two shows in Tokyo. But because of this trouble, the second show in Tokyo(June 26, 1973) was cancelled.

Welcome to Volume 38 of our master series featuring the master recordings of dime member "tapetyrant". The series will predominately feature captures in the Northeast and Southern California areas. We will touch on multiple genres with a strong focus on Jazz Fusion, New Wave and Rock.

Tapetyrant was an active taper in the 1980's and much of the 1990's before, like many of us, hanging up the mics. What he captured during that time is uniformly excellent quality and his master tapes have been safely stored, the first batch are in pristine condition. Some shows may circulate from lower generation copies but most have remained uncirculated until now and have never circulated directly from the masters.

Prior to DAT, the heavy lifting was entirely done by a Sony D5 with NAK 300's and taping was serious business, acquiring the best seats possible and working to keep neighbors in check.

Another killer quality Smiths show from Tape Tyrant's master tapes, in the same top tier as our previous Smiths release, Volume 2.

Pier 84 was a friendly taping environment for Tape Tyrant having an acquaintance with an in with security resulting in early entry for the show securing the best seats and relative ease taping.

For this Smiths performance that resulted in 6 minutes of the soundcheck being captured and an excellent capture of the show.

Thanks as always to Goody for the pitch adjustment details, "on call" week after week ensuring you are getting these fantastic shows at the correct speed...it takes a village.

And of course to "tapetyrant" for doing such a great job capturing these important shows, for reaching out and entrusting me to present his excellent work for all to enjoy for decades to come. We are indebted to his generosity (tapers don't let those tapes and your hard work get lost to the ages, there are plenty of folks to get in touch with here to help get them out, we're all working to leave no tape behind).

Artwork and samples included.

Paul McCartney & Wings - Wings Over Switzerland(MCCD040-041)

Wings Over Switzerland 1972 (Misterclaudel mccd-40/41)

The Pavilion, Montreux, Switzerland – July 22nd, 1972

Disc 1: Bip Bop, Smile Away, Mumbo, Give Ireland Back To The Irish, 1882, I Would Only Smile, Blue Moon Of Kentucky, The Mess, Best Friend, Soily

Disc 2: I Am Your Singer, Henry’s Blues, Say You Don’t Mind, Seaside Woman, Wild Life, My Love, Mary Had A Little Lamb, Maybe I’m Amazed, Hi Hi Hi, Long Tall Sally

Wings Over Switzerland 1972 comes right from the middle of Wings’ second ever tour and first of Europe. While this tour wasn’t as spontaneous as the university gigs in England, it still was supposed to be laid back with minimal press coverage and the band traveling in a modified English double-deck bus.

The set list was similar in relying upon material from the first two McCartney solo LPs and the Wings’ first LP Wild Life along with the usual rock standards and, surprisingly, many tunes that were not released up to that point (“My Love”, “Seaside Woman” and “Hi Hi Hi”) or have never been issued (“1882”).

Misterclaudel utilizes the same very good audience tape that first appeared on Wings Over Switzerland (Mistral Music MM9110/11) released in 1991. It is clear although a bit distant from the stage. Everything is very well balanced and enjoyable and is one of the better tapes to exist from this era. The concert itself is very hit-or-miss. It begins with a strong version of “Bip Bop” and “Smile Away”.

Their current single “Give Ireland Back To The Irish” is played with conviction as is the epic blues dirge “1882” (it’s a shame it was never properly recorded and released). But the cool reception by the audience seems to affect the band in the latter half and the band seems to completely fall apart. “I Am Your Singer” is sung completely out of tune (ironically I know), “Mary Had A Little Lamb” sees the band missing time signatures.

We come to accept Linda’s off harmonies as a part of Wings, but Paul is the big culprit here. “My Love” is ruined, not only with the horrible singing, but Henry McCullough misses the cue for the famous guitar solo and flubs it when he does come in. Real pathetic.Despite the mediocre performance this title is recommended.

There aren’t too many really good tapes circulating from the early years of Wings and this is one of the best. The label has done their usual excellent work with the packaging, coming in a fatboy jewel case and a miniature reproduction of the tour programme. Misterclaudel titles are always worth a look by the collector and this is another great addition to their catalogue.

10,000 Maniacs 1982-10-07 The Old Main Inn Fredonia, NY

10,000 Maniacs
The Old Main Inn
Fredonia, NY
October 7, 1982
**earliest known recording of a complete 10,000 Maniacs show**

16 bit version from the collection of chopper7

1st generation cassette transferred and mastered by }{eywood
Lineage: SBD > cass (M) > That's as:II 100 cassette (1) > Optimus SCT-57 playback deck > Adobe Audition 1.5 (recording at
24/96, speed correction, EQ, normalization, splits & fades, conversion to 16/44.1, peak limiting) > TLH (SBE fix, flac 8)

Another very rare recording of the Maniacs before they were famous.  This is listed on Natalie Merchant's past gig timeline
(http://www.nyx.net/~jhiguchi/natalie.html) as being the band's 5th gig.  It is a single 100 minuite tape and only contains a
fraction of the 2nd set.

Many places on the tape one channel or the other, usually the right, went dead now and then. These spots have been converted to
mono using the remaining channel. The tape has a very pinched noise reduced sound to it, but no NR was used in the mastering.
This is how the cassette sounds.

1. The Latin One
2. Katrina's Fair
3. Poppy Selling Man
4. Pour de Chirico
5. Rum and Coca Cola
6. Magnificent Seven Medley (includes some of The Clash's "Magnificent Seven", plus a handful of other odds & ends that
     I can't identify)
7. Eli Eli
8. Anthem For Doomed Youth
9. Guns of Brixton (The Clash cover)
10. Tension
11. unknown instrumental
12. Toy Helmet (early "The Colonial Wing")
13. She's Lost Control (Joy Division cover)
14. Burning Airlines Gives You So Much More (Brian Eno cover)
15. Among the Americans
16. Planned Obsolescence
17. One Love
18. National Education Week
19. The Lion Sleeps Tonight (The Tokens cover)
20. The Death of Manolette
21. In Every Dream Home a Heartache (Roxy Music cover)

Description:

I obtained this from The Trader's Den shortly after initiating the current "flood" of Maniacs shows.  I had never seen or
heard of this recording before, and it beats the previous record-holder for earliest-known full 10,000 Maniacs concert
recording by about 3 weeks (Goodyear Hall, Buffalo, October 31 - I don't have a copy of that one, and would like to hear it,
if any of you are able to upload).

The original setlist was half-complete, so I filled in the gaps as best I could.  "Magnificent Seven Medley" is a title of
my own creation - truly, it's a complete mess of a song, incorporating a bunch of odds & ends including some of the Clash's
"Magnificent Seven".  If you can identify any of the other songs in the medley, please post your info. in the comments section.
It's funny to hear both Natalie and John singing in vaguely Jamaican accents - I'm sure that Natalie's peculiar singing style
evolved from this ska-influenced style, and to this day I think that John sings in the style of Dave Wakeling from The (English)
Beat.

As the original uploader noted, this was surely one of the earliest 10,000 Maniacs concerts (possibly as early as their
4th public performance under the "10,000 Maniacs" name - unfortunately, the official "Maniacs.com" gig timeline didn't go
any farther back than 1985, so I can't be certain).  I can't imagine who would have bothered to record the band at this
stage of their career, but I'm glad they did!

Bob Dylan 2000-09-13 Vicar Street Dublin, Ireland(Masters Series)(DVD)

I think Yassou may be the author of this paragraph: "This is part of my Masters Series these are those of my retired friend but others may follow. It will be a long series if we do them all.  An this is another short but VERY sweet film, shot in the smallest venue of 2000 with pretty much an acoustic line up. Shame is not longer but what we have is excellent. This was made available on DVDylan.com as D689 (http://dvdylan.com/dvd/D689.m) where it was listed with other stuff and transferred at a lower bitrate, here it is in full quality and alone...Finally a word of thanks is owed to my generous friend for supplying them and my other very helpful friends who have aided in locating cameras and things and now left thereby making all the work (and tapes!) possible. Well I don't sleep a lot anyways."

Filmed on the center right part of the balcony (see last sample snapshot).  I think the video is excellent (worthy of 5) & the audio very good for a camcorder mike.  The menu page is mislabeled:  This upload is MS 015, not 16 (16 is Glasgow on June 24, 2004).

Notes: Excellent show for this casual fan. Perfect weather for starters. Followed by brilliant music with a beautiful visual presentation. The PA audio quality was fantastic as well. No video to share here. I periscoped the entire show and had about 350 viewers at one point but didn't save the video to my phone, which was a rookie mistake. Traffic nightmares getting in and out? Who cares. Well worth it.
