Band:

Joe Satriani - Guitars
Stu Hamm - Bass Guitar
Jonathan Mover - Drums

This recording has been circulating since '88 however this version is a new master cassette
transfer from my original analog master tape (Mar. 2010).

My first Satch show and a good one it was. I remember when Surfing came out and got a ton of
airplay on KGB. I think everyone was blown away by Stu Hamm's Bass solo as well as Joe's playing.

This is upload #62 from my "Master tape Collection". I'm going to start uploading shows from
my 600+ masters which includes uncirculated recordings from 2003 thru the present. I've taped just
about every show i've gone too since 1986 so you can imagine i have a lot of masters to share. Most
of my recordings from 1986-2002 have been circulating as i used to do a lot of trading back in the day.
All uploads however will be new master tape transfers directly from the master tape to CD.

Enjoy!
Brian.

vinyl LP > xAct (flac)

Here is the last show of 1980, and there would be no more
live performances until April 1981, after Sandinista! was released.  This is the
second night of their only ever performances at the Hammersmith Palais.  It is a
nice audience recording taken straight from the rare bootleg LP Clash Songbooks.
It seems to be from a master tape or a very low gen.  There is no CD art, but I
have included scans of the LP cover for reference.  Notable features are an early
"Somebody Got Murdered", the rarely played "Revolution Rock", and Mikey Dread again
on the encore.

02 Audience
03 Hells Bells
04 T.N.T.
05 For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)

Notes by viper:

Another one from the collection of Lox1966 (all thanks to him).  I thought I had this date but the Hard2handell share that I had turned out to be the recording of the next night, aso at Wembley, but of a poor Gen.  A better Gen of that one (most probably the master) wound up on the fantastic sounding "Jailbreak" 2 LP bootleg.  This recording does justice to that one and is possibly recorded by the same taper.

Received as WAV (transfer was done by Lox1966 from his 2nd Gen audio tape to Philips CDR recorder).  Used Audacity to split and amplify tracks.  Encoded to FLAC (Level 8) w/TLH.

Show Notes:
There were plenty of 'negative documentation experiences" associated with this show, but out of respect for TMS, will keep those to myself.

As for the show, it's maybe 0.2% behind Baltimore in regards to the onstage product.

A 2 hour 20 minute tour-de-force (mainly due to show closer "Thorn In My Pride"), the band had the Philly crowd eating out of their hands.

And it *was* a good crowd...an easy 500-600 people were soaking up all the goodness in the room.

The highlights were many, and low points virtually non-existent.

If you need confirmation of this, check out "Tied Up & Swallowed", "Every Picture Tells A Story", "Comin' Home", "Girl From The North Country" (Marc & Rich solo acoustic, btw), "The Giving Key", and, yet again, the last 5 songs of the show. (which was a swirling storm of riffage and wreckage).

Sorry for the shownotes brevity, but I'm typing this here in Connecticut, at 7:40pm, and TMS is about to hit the stage in 30 minutes. (there's only so many hours in a day)/

Keep your (CR)B squad Chris...Rich has Marc Ford :D

Oh yeah, thank Dennis, and just tell me to fuck off, as it's food for my soul.

And also, thanks to longtime Crowes fan Mike Wolf for the use of the CA mics. He's a saint and a scholar.

David Bowie The Savage Jaw Archives Volume 18

The Savage Jaw Archives.

The official SITA project in cooperation with Ziggy In Concert and Mind-Warp PaVilion.

Towards the end of the 1990's affordable home computers, CD copiers and internet connections forever changed the way that many music collectors traded their recordings. It became so much easier to contact other collectors from around the world without having to wait weeks for replies to letters, trades to be agreed and tapes to be copied, dispatched and delivered. Contacts could be made quickly and copies could be sent out quickly too. Unfortunately, the mail was still quite slow but it was all a big improvement in the opinion of many of us.

A group of traders would hang out at Ziggy In Concert forum and from there would get to know each other, arrange trades and generally have some fun whilst waiting for the mail to arrive.
(http://zic.proboards.com/  or http://www.angelfire.com/la2/zic/  for a little stroll down memory lane)

Move the clock forward to 2004 by which time many of us had "super quick" 512kbps home "broadband" and had become familiar with BitTorrent which enabled us to get recordings sometimes in hours rather than weeks. The focus for music collectors had moved once again. We were crying out for a Torrent site which specialised in the artist whose music had brought us all together, namely David Bowie.

Goodness only knows how much work went on behind the scenes but on April 1st 2004, Savage Jaw opened it's doors, inviting everyone in to join the swarm and enjoy David Bowie "At The Atlantis". Not everybody saw this development as a good thing but the vast majority welcomed the site and the recordings with open arms. Throughout it's relatively short lifespan, Savage Jaw operated strictly to the motto "Where Quality Counts". Everything available through the site was the very best available to us. Sadly, Savage Jaw as a Bowie Torrent site closed it's doors around August 2005 but left a legacy of which those involved can be justifiably proud.

Rather than forget about this legacy a fitting tribute was put together in the form of The Savage Jaw Archives.

 Hi to all

Welcome to my series of mostly uncirculated masters & very low generation shows that i recorded or
received in trades in my younger days most of my masters have not been circulated or only traded
once or twice i used to trade a lot in the 70s - 80s & i have many many shows well in excess of 7,500
tapes.
Of these shows about 120 - 150 are  my masters they where always on my trading list but not many
got traded so i boxed them all up in the late 80s now i have decided to go through them  & upload
some of them.
I recorded many bands from Genesis – Bowie – Springsteen  - Hawkwind  - Hackett – Gabriel –
Marillion plus many many others i will try & upload a least one  show a week if not two.
To record theses shows i used a Sony portable hand held tape recorder with built in stereo mics.
I always used good quality tapes to record on mainly T.D.K.
I used to insert the tape deck in a empty coffee flask with the inside taken out of the flask to get past
the security ah those where the days.
The only thing i ask is please don’t sell these recording & don’t convert to mp3 etc & if you do
( only for your own use ).  Please don’t change any of the files or info files etc this is so that people
can tell the difference between this source & other sources as many people like to compare different
versions of shows.
Also please do not remaster these shows the reason for this is these days there are far to many
remasters of shows. Its ok have one remaster etc, but some are remastered that many times by
different people there can be at least 10 different remasters of a show from the same source & it can
get a bit tedious.
PLEASE ALSO DO NOT UPLOAD TO OTHER TORRENT SITES I WILL BE UPLOADING
THEM TO MOST MUSIC SITES WHEN I CAN GET ROUND TO IT THE REASON FOR THIS
IS I HAVE NOTICED IN THE PAST SOME HAVE BEEN UPLOADED WITH FILES CHANGED ETC
DOING THIS CAUSES CONFUSION WITH THE TORRENT.
All show are RAW versions with little or no tampering with the sound

I have now up-dated my tape decks for transfering recordings from audio tapes to my PC. I am now
using the following decks
Either
Nakamichi 1000ZXL Gold Edition Or
Nakamichi Dragon

Both theses decks are considered to be the best Tape decks ever made both have auto tape Azimuth
Alinement which will be used on all transfers. Both Decks have been Up-dated and serviced by
trained Nakamichi specialists.
I have for the past 6 month been trying out and expermenting with theses decks and
they are well worth the money amazing sound ( And should be for the money they cost ).
All the tape transfers that are done through my Yamaha Reciever are done via the pure direct
button ( all the displays on the reciever and tape deck are switched off ). so there is then no
interferance via the electrical circuritry.

We got this in the mid 80s. It Is not the source that as been shared as "the Master Brian Schley" and it is not from the "Tony's Friend Stan" version.
It sounds like it is the version that was torrented on "bowiestation" or "MWP" as "The Hunky Geordie Tapes, Vol 27" by steve23yh.
We got this from a trader who said it was from a low generation tape, but i cant say for 100% sure.
Some have said that "I Can't Explain" was played before "Modern Love", but that was on the 2nd night in NY.
This is the 3rd and last night at the Gardens and a great show Bowie. Before "Space Oddity" Bowie says "I want to dedicate this to a little boy called Sean“.
The quality is G/VG (8/10).
He is what "davidbowieworld.net" says about the show-

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Ladies and gentlemen,on stage for the final triplet night this week at Madison Square Garden … “ the announcer cries in the sensationa1 was he has been doing throughout the tour.
The crowds are as enthusiastic as during the last two concerts and this tape matches the other two as well.

ROCK CONCERT: DAVID BOWIE AS PERFORMANCE ARTIST

THROUGHOUT his 15-year career as a rock performer, David Bowie has worked out new modes of presentation, won new converts, then challenged them,
his older fans and his own limits by confronting them with new work in a new mode.

Mr. Bowie doesn’t just make albums and do tours. In fact, he doesn’t tour much at all; his three sold-out performances at Madison Square Garden this week are his first
here in more than five years. But wherever his work confronts us – on a single, an album, a selfdirected video, a film or, ideally, when he is on stage fronting a rock band –
Mr. Bowie does his best to take us by surprise. He doesn’t just have a new sound or a new look, though he does always seem to have those. He also has new ideas, new slants on
the most effective ways to mix sound and image in live performance, and a new set of concepts to tie everything together.

Mr. Bowie’s ”Serious Moonlight” show consists of songs from many of his albums, but it is more properly a performance piece, a single, coherent, resourceful and at times
virtuosically imaginative mixed-media work. It deserves that designation as much as an extended piece by Robert Ashley or Laurie Anderson, and it is by turns subtler, more ferocious,
more moving and more dazzling – intellectually and sensually – than anything the art world’s most celebrated performance artists have come up with.

The tour began in Europe, and there were early reports of some musical roughness, as well as gossip about the last-minute replacement of the lead guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan
(who played on Mr. Bowie’s current hit album and single, ”Let’s Dance”) with an earlier Bowie band regular, Earl Slick. But by the time Mr. Bowie and his musicians
opened at Madison Square Garden last night, only a few musical kinks remained to be ironed out. The rhythm section of Carmine Rojas (bass) and Tony Thompson (drums),
hadn’t yet found a comfortable tempo and groove for some of Mr. Bowie’s earlier songs, and there were occasional timing problems with a few of the more intricate arrangements.
But these were very minor blemishes. As an evening of sound, light and image; as Mr. Bowie’s critical, conceptual gloss on his diverse body of work, and as visceral rockand-roll,
the show was practically flawless.

When a rock star has been around as long as Mr. Bowie, it’s easy to chose the easy options, to give an audience what one thinks it wants, to lavish just enough imagination and
care on a song or an album or a show to get by, please the fans, keep money in the bank.

But Mr. Bowie uses everything at his disposal – his knowledge of rock and rhythm-and-blues history; his training in body language through mime; his interest in the early
performance art of the Dadaists and Surrealists and in William Burroughs’s ideas about manipulating psychology through association-blocks of sound and image; his stage and
film acting experience; the observations of cultures and cultural styles made on his extensive travels and, one suspects, some reading in the literature of crowd psychology.

But all of this would be crassly Pavlovian if there weren’t some heart, some feeling in Mr. Bowie’s work. That’s the area he seems most concerned with at present,
and in musical terms this means hard work on the elusive subtleties of feel. In the past, Mr. Bowie’s big problem was a lingering impression of coldness in his work.
One sensed, or thought one sensed, a remote, disdainful, manipulative intelligence marshaling spectacular theatrical and musical epiphanies without ever feeling their effects.

And in this respect, the David Bowie of ”Serious Moonlight” is a new Bowie – relaxed, smiling, jaunty and more emphatically, physically involved in the music than ever before. In
”The Elephant Man,” Mr. Bowie impressed the drama critics by using his body to make apparent changes in his physical appearance. In his latest stage show, he is using that talent,
the impact of his most enduring songs, and the wealth of knowledge and experience he has acquired to make great popular art – and, more to the point, great rock-and-roll.

Hope you enjoy it.

If any one has a better quality version of this source or any other sourceof this show please upload or
let me know so that other can enjoy it to.

I do not claim this version is better or worse than any other version in circulation.

Many many thanks to the trader for sending me a copy & the person who recorded the show

As Usual Please dont convert to mp3 ( only for your own use if you do ) Please Keep all the info files
md5 etc in the folder so that other collectors know which version this is etc and  most of all
DO NOT SELL.

PLEASE NOTE.

This series is from my own personal collection they are NOT SOURCED FROM ANY CDRs /
OTHER TORRENT SITES ETC.
They are from recordings that i traded for between 20 - 35 years ago on audio tape as stated above
they have all been boxed up for the past 20 or so years.
This is the first time any of them have been Digitally transfered and torrented. All i am doing to the
recordings in nero wave editor is inproving the volume ( if low),
also equallizing the left and right channel where needed. Removing hiss etc ( If i can ).
Recordings in this series that have a generation linage are the correct linage as to what i was told when
i was sent the recordings. Most of the traders i traded with where well known traders so i have no
reason to believe they are not the true Linage if i had any doubt to the linage at the time i did not
write it down on the tape so all the low generation recordings in this series have a well known and
correct linage.

Please do not remaster any of theses If you wish to do remastering of this source find yourself a
better quality version and remaster that.
This version is how i remembered hearing it all them years ago and how it sounded when it was
recorded the way it should be heard.

THIS IS FOR SOME PEOPLE WHO ALWAYS HAVE TO PUT THERE TWO PENITHWORTH IN
AND ARE NOT SATISFIED.
I PUT SAMPLES UP TO EVERY RECORDING I UPLOAD MOST PEOPLE 99% ARE SATISFIED
I PUT THE SAMPLES UP SO YOU CAN HEAR THEM BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD THEM IF
YOU DONT LIKE WHAT YOU HEAR ITS SIMPLE YOU DONT HAVE TO DOWNLOAD IT.
I OR OTHER UPLOADERS ON THESE SITES DO NOT HAVE TO SPEND TIME AND EFFORT
RECORDING THESE SHOW ON A PC ETC TO UPLOAD THEM  BUT WE DO AND DO IT
GLADLY SO THAT OTHER TRADERS CAN HAVE THE SHOWS ETC AND ENJOY THEM.
I HAVE NEVER SAID THE SHOWS I PUT UP ARE PREFECT IN ANY WAY BUT I DO THEM
TO THE BEST OF MY ABILLITY IF YOU DONT LIKE IT DONT DOWNLOAD THEM.

THATS MY MOAN FOR THE DAY SORRY LOL

Please also buy the bands offical stuff and support them etc.
Thanks to all the Artists for there great music and to all the traders for keeping live music alive.

GVF's first date of their sold out headlining tour. This was a tough ticket
and because I slept on buying one when it went on sale I had to pull a few
strings. Thankfully, I didnt have to pay $100 per! Ive never heard of a band
supporting a 4-song EP headlining, but I guess there's first for everything!
These guys lived up to all of the hype and then some. The main reason it was
important for me to make this show was hearing the unreleased material they
have been performing. Whenever their debut LP releases, its going to be a
classic if their live show is any indication. For any fans of 70's era classic
rock, give this one a listen.

Please note during track 1, the band did launch into "Talk On The Street", but
Jake realized he was not in tune. The band stopped while he tuned and Josh
greeted the crowd. The guitar is also brought up in the house mix during the
first minute of "Talk On The Street" (track 2). You'll notice it is very low
from the beginning. All in all, I was very happy with the sound in The Basement,
which usually is not the case. This might be my best recording I've made in the
300 person capacity venue. If only all bands sounded this clear down there!!

The band returned for the encore after "Safari" and played 3 songs not on the
setlist. I couldn't find the titles for the first 2 online, so I guessed. They
sound like jams, to be honest. They ended w/ the Elvis cover.

David Bowie 1983-11-24 Athletic Park, Wellington, NZ (2nd Source-Recorcder) (DAVROS405)

I am now
using the following decks

On to the show for your enjoyment Davros archives presents :-

Known Issue -

This source does not have the intro at the beginning.

Got this in the mid 80s this is a differant source/Recorder than the one that was torrented by Steveboy On MWP old Torrent site, also a reseed as been on bowiestation.
This is taken from a differant source. If you listen to "Steveboy"version at the beginning of "Look Back In Anger" you can hear people talking on this version there is no
talking. There are other differances in-between the tracks with the audience. So i have classed this as "source 2" The quality is just slighty worse than the first source, but
at times is clearer and more balanced. From listening to both versions i would say the tapers where not to far away from each other probilily in the same section of the audience.
quality is Good-Very good (B-B+ at times).
Bowie Tell the audience a few times to stop pushing up to the front of the stage, I believe a few people got injured due to pushing at the front of the stage.

Hope you enjoy it.

If any one has a better quality version of this source or any other sourceof this show please upload or
let me know so that other can enjoy it to.

I do not claim this version is better or worse than any other version in circulation

Aud: Okay, a few drop outs here and there and a little annoying audience chatter.

Lineage: At least 2nd generation. I took the tape I had and digitized it through Sony Sound Forge, increased the volume
and tried to get an equal amount of sound on each channel. For some inexplicable reason the taper
neglected to tape "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?" and "Circus Envy." I was
able to cheat somewhat by putting "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?" from the
1995-09-09 show in Tampa, but there was no "Circus Envy" listed on the extra tracks from the tape I received. Also it's
possible the "Departure" and "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" are from the Florida show as
well because for some reason on the tape I had "Departure" followed "So. Central Rain" and was subsequently followed by
"It's the End of the World." It's possible the taper when dubbing a copy for me turned them around to fit on the tape,
but I don't know. So I switched them around to follow the set list as published according to the R.E.M. Timeline website.

Excellent show, but the sound of this particular recording is only okay.

I was at this show, my first R.E.M. experience. The audience was extremely
loud from where we sat-- pretty high up on the right side.

I was very impressed with the band and the show. Great rock concert.
