This show was played under very cloudy conditions with rain cutting it short at the end. The band attempts a comeback with WLL but are forced to cut it short because of the rain. No more thunder from the stage that day; only from the sky. The boys still put on a great show under the conditions presented that day.
This show is from a new source spliced in with the old to complete. Sounds nice to my ears for an audience source. :) Seems to be Underground Uprising's choice for best version of this date.

If this audience recording is a big improvement above the previous abyssal one, it is only a fair recording at its best. Muffled and distorded in places.
Below is the review from BootledZ :
EV doesn't have the weird background noise like the other titles. That is a big improvement and makes it a bit clearer, but it doesn't make a large difference. It's still the same below average quality recording
EV's are the only titles to feature tape before the show. It does not repeat any of the organ solo or Thank You like on the other two titles. It also includes the beginning of the organ solo. Overall, EV adds almost 3 minutes of tape between songs. This may be evidence of a second source tape. The sound quality of this extra time is slightly different

This set was issued twice by Empress Valley. The original set, Immigrant Song/Out On The Tiles, is packaged in a single pocket hard cardboard sleeve that lifts the artwork from an official Atlantic Records Japanese 45 single right down to the Atlantic logo. The original set also includes a 50+ page mini replica program from the festival. The reissue, Bath Festival 1970, utilizes the "Empress Valley"-stlye long box format. The insert included in the reissued set is a two sided reprint of the first sets' artwork on a glossy card. The initial shipment of the reissued set also included festival programs leftover from the first release. Both releases contain the same discs and both sets are limited editions of 200 un-numbered sets. The source tape presented here is clear, but distorted, at times unbalanced and lacks the low end frequencies. It is possible that the acoustics of the open air venue might have been a contributing factor to the state of the recording. The mediocre sound is offset by a frenzied and inspired performance. It's rather a pity that the audio couldn't have been just a little bit better for this show. The acoustic track "The Boy Next Door" (That's The Way) is slightly easier on the ear. It's very close to what would be released on Led Zeppelin III. This is also it's debut performance. There's several quick tape swaps just prior to the start of How Many More Times and another one with about 3 minutes left in the track. HMMT features a medley section that includes snippets of Down By The River, The Hunter, Boogie Woogie, Honey Bee, That's Alright, Long Distance Blues, The Lemon Song and more. The audience is not satisfied and are demanding more. Whole Lotta Love is the first encore and Communication Breakdown is the second. Even that is not enough, the crowds are still calling out for more. What follows is a medley of classics, some of which were just played in the HMMT medley! This is perhaps the worst part of the tape with speed issues, even more distortion, volume fluctuations, and more. Recommended even with the lackluster audio and tape issues as this is a brilliant performance and probably ranks in the top 5 Zeppelin shows ever. (Steve Prendergast March 03)

This was downloaded from RO Direct Downloads. Here are some notes from a Tape City torrent shared by FosilRockr:
NOTE: The artwork lists nine tracks on disc one and five on disc two.
That's because Empress Valley added two tracks to the end of this
release which were not played at this show. The Whole Lotta Love and
Communication Breadown that were on the silvers were recorded at the
KB Hallen show, not in Newcastle. This torrent has those irrelevant
tracks removed, and the show is redistributed across two discs.
A low-gen version of this show circulates which includes a legitimate
Communication Breakdown from this date. The Empress Valley release
does not include that track.
From a review at Underground Uprising:
This set comes from an audience source. There are minor volume and
hiss fluctuations throughout the show. Yet, the quality remains very
good to excellent. The vocals are out front and clear. The guitar is
just behind but always embattled with the drums for supremacy
(especially during Stairway). The sheer musicality of the concert is
astounding. Plant is in excellent voice. Page belts out a very tight
and precise performance. Bonham & Jones are both strong and fill every
gap with intricate and rhythmic fills.

From bootleg encyclo:
Everybody Feel Alright? is a new release by Empress Valley documenting Led Zeppelin's first of many stellar concerts at
the Forum in Los Angeles. Tapes from later in their career that come from this venue are among the very best in sound
quality and performance but this concert has not been booted too much in the past. Two tape sources exist. The first
one to surface was used on the silver title D'ya Feel Alright? (Mad Dogs-029/30). This recording is distant and dull
but listenable. A second incomplete tape surfaced afterwards and was the basis for the second major release of this
show on LA Jive & Rambling Mind (Holy Grail HGCD 106/107). The second source is much closer to the action and is more
clear and enjoyable. The first tape was edited in for three songs, "Bring It On Home", "White Summer/Black Mountain Side",
and "Since I've Been Loving You". Everybody Feel Alright?, this new release on Empress Valley, is the first release of
this show in a very long time and is similar to the Holy Grail by editing together the two sources for a complete show.
The basis is again the better sounding of the two. It begins with the short introduction and Plant saying he will get
everybody looser than they've ever been loose before including with cod liver oil. The first tape source picks up right
on the final note of "Heartbreaker" and runs through "Bring It On Home", "White Summer/Black Mountain Side", and "Since
I've Been Loving You" just like the Holy Grail. In "Thank You", the first source is used two times, between 6:18 to 6:23
and 7:01 to 7:18.
In "How Many More Times" the lesser source is used between 3:18 to 3:28 and that source comes in again at the very end with
the audiences' comments about the show. The Bootledz website makes the observation that "there are very many micro
cut/repeats in this title, most notably a string of them together after 'White Summer'". It sounds as if the webmaster
received a defective copy since mine, and other collector's, does not have this problem and plays fine. Perhaps if your
copy has this issue you might want to contact your vendor and get an exchange for a fixed copy. The tape begins right at
the end of the band's introduction and Plant asking everybody if they feel alright (a comment he makes throughout the show
and gives the title for this release). He says they will get everybody more loose than than with cod liver oil before the
band begin "We're Gonna Groove". "Heartbreaker", the third song of the set, lacks the theremin introduction that Page used
for this tour but does have a moment of Hendrix-like feedback and distortion. "Bring It On Home" is good enough to make
one wish it were on the better sounding tape. This is such an effective vehicle for improvisation and fun on-stage antics
between Page, Plant and Bonham that it makes me wonder why it was dropped from the set list the following year and played
only on rare occasions. John Paul Jones' organ solo before "Thank You" is the first attempt to introduce an improvisational
keyboard solo in the Zeppelin live repertoire. Many times on this and the following American tour the solo sounds
disjointed with the experiments sounding more stupid than interesting. But on this night it lasts only three minutes
and is melodic and enjoyable.
"What Is And What Should Never Be" is usually one of the more "standard" numbers inthe set, being performed the same every
night with very little difference. But Plant adds many interjections between the verses making this version stand out.
Before "Moby Dick" Plant thanks everybody who saw them in Anaheim the previous year. "How Many More Times" lasts for
twenty-five minutes with Plant promising to get the audience "looser and looser". He introduces the band as "four survivors
of the Graf Zeppelin" and the band get very intense. Page plays Ravel's Bolero in increasing intensity and Plant tries to
calm the police presence down throughout the entire medley. "Whole Lotta Love", their newest single at this time is the
first encore and includes Page's theremin solo in the middle. The show closes with a version of "Communication Breakdown"
that includes a reference to Neil Young's "Down By The River" which was his latest hit that spring. Everybody Feel Alright?
is another budget release by Empress Valley. They use photos from the actual concert on the front and back with several
photos of Page from the Bath festival on the inside. His look for that summer concert, with the beard, short hair and
farmer hat was not the same look he had in the spring which was long hair, clean-shaven and psychedelic pop-star garb.
Regardless it is an effective and clean layout design. This is an overall improvement over the older releases and is
worth having especially because it has not been booted very often. The rumor mill in Japan is saying that Wendy is working
on their own competing version of this show and we will see how it compares.

Porgies Notes:
Tremendous performance and a great job done with this release utilizing the good audience source and the available exc. SB as well for Stairway through Moby Dick. It's especially nice to hear a clean SB recording of Moby from '71. Bonzo plays what has to be the longest triplet finale of his solo ever. It's almost comical how long it goes on but it's absolutely killin' !! Reminds me of his wild ending solo on Whole Lotta Love from the last night at the Garden '73. This one's for my man acapulcogold by request and to reciprocate for some of the great Zep that I've acquired here.

In my humble opinion.. this is the best "Bootleg" version of this show. There has been some
discussion on various sites what Analog Generation EVSD used for their version. I don't Know
what they used, Ive seen on a couple of sites 11th Gen & Unknown Gen. Maybe thats why they called
it "The Battle of Baton Rouge". For those who would like to compare, and With Freezers consent
I've added the two samplers Freezer has circulated of this show from his master cassettes.

Review:
Near soundboard sound here ... amazing! The playing and singing are great here, but in some spots the band
seems a little slow ... this is probably due to the fact that this is one of the worst crowds ever! The
audience is dull, bored and seems half-asleep. "We must apologise for the slight delay, be we couldn't get
into the building and we hadn't got any tickets! It's a fact. We saw a well known scalper, but we blew it ...
and it was bllown!" stated Plant after Sick Again. This show has some amazing playing but the crowd seems more
interested in sleeping than the crushing music. This seems unbelievable, to be lucky enough to see Led Zeppelin
and to react in this way. Robert slams the crowd for their reactions, but in reality, this show is great, but
the next night is even greater. He's also dedicated The Song Remains The Same to the bootleggers: "For the
benefit of anyone who was making a bootleg then - the 12-string was out of tune!" After the last encore Plant
added spontaneously: "Ladies and gentlemen of Long Beach ... sleep well! Half a Quaalude with water."
