Some of these shows are seeing the light of day after all of these years- some for the first time since they were taped!
He is currently searching for ANY Warrior Soul, Saigon Kick, Tegan and Sara, Filter, Rose Tattoo, Wildhearts, or Antigone Rising shows.
Also looking for leads to UNCIRCULATED Foo Fighters, UFO or Nine Inch Nails MASTERS. Contact him on DIME if you can help. Thanks

Taped this one myself and it sounds great!!  We had great seats.  15 rows up, 1 section back on Dave’s left.  This was a very visual show, but it is almost equally as enjoyable on audio … and this copy sounds great.

This circulation on this is extremely low, if at all.  I don’t remember trading it at all back in the day, but I know I gave out 2 copies to my friends who were at the show with me.

Anyhow – a fun, albeit a bit short, great sounding show…

Enjoy!!

Notes: There are two equally bad recordings of this show. The "better" sounding one peters out after about 55 minutes, while the other is complete. It seems as though both were recorded from the last row up in the rafters of the auditorium! I used the better tape here as the main source, then filled out gaps and the end of the show with the other tape to build the complete show. I figure this might be fun for someone out there, but one has to put on their "bootleg" ears for this upload, yes the sound is THAT bad.

Here is posting about the show that I found online, this fellow writes this  was the BEST show he ever saw.

"I remember the first time I heard VH I was in 7th grade 1978. I was in my friend's basement and he put on a record of his sister's it was VH1 I and I was blown away. We played it over and over. The way I looked at life changed, it was way more colorful and with more attitude. Life was more interesting. The world tilted on its axis. At the time I loved aerosmith and AC/DC. We listed to "Eruption" with amazement. Life would never be the same.

I will never forget it. It was May 5, 1980 in Buffalo NY at the Memorial Auditorium, I was in 8th grade, My first VH show. I sitting in the blue seats, someone fired off a roman candle and were throwing M80s into the crowd on the floor. It was fucking crazy. We were on the runway ready for takeoff with the rest of the crowd, about to go supesonic.

I remember the first time, hearing "Eruption" live after hearing it so many times on the record. It was fucking amazing. Seeing Ed in a white spotlight and dark stage. It was kind of like a surreal experience. Sometimes you just know your in the presence of greatness. It's a little scary and just feeling the chills. I remember Dave with a bottle of Jack in one hand and a microphone and joint in the other, which someone threw on stage from the crowd. Dave loved to talk to the crowd during "aint talking bout love" and would get into a great story. You were hanging on every word. Some other momements I can't remember for other fun reasons. The sound was crisp, clear and extremely loud, I remember my ears ringing for days after. Where would I go from here, I started at the top. It was fucking awesome.

The next shows went was in July 81 and 1984 they were great too. The 1980 show was the best. That day my life had changed it was the best concert I had ever seen and heard to this day and was just the very beginning of many concerts I have seen in my life. Sometimes you just know your are experiencing greatness you can feel it. I saved my ticket stubs and kept my concert tees and still have them. They were and still are the best in the business."

What can I say about Henry love his music, seen his shows and got a pix with him. Awesome human being and music legend. Ultimate credibility. He felt the power of VH. "WINNER

COMMENT

Certainly not the best show from the short NewPower Soul Festival tour of Europe in December 1998, but a mighty impressive recording indeed. This is most definitely a case of the quality being superior to the content, and whilst the show is enjoyable it is pretty basic and (on the whole) an unadventurous run-through. The recording is of excellent quality with bare minimum of crowd noise throughout. The recording is slightly thinner than a number of other Sabotage releases from the tour, but is above criticism from me. The show is rather straightforward and certainly free of anything unique which makes various other shows from the tour so enjoyable. P recites the opening verse from '4 The Tears In Your Eyes' during the intro speech of 'The Christ', and the very brief inclusion of 'Kamasutra' to the piano segment are the only real noteworthy incidents throughout the show. My personal highlight comes in the form of a bizarre techno intro to 'Baby I'm A Star' which is very short but extremely funky. The inclusion of Larry Graham's opening act is a rather pointless addition and while P is present during a number of the songs, the man wailing on the mic cancels out anything P could have added to the set. The accompanying packaging is rather basic and suits the show's content perfectly as it is unsurprising and lifeless. A small review has been included, but it is hardly a critical masterpiece. Overall this is a rather dull release of a rather average show. The quality of the recording is superb, and the pity is that the show itself doesn't match the recording's high standard.

Anticipation ran high as Dave Edmunds hit Big Man's West one Saturday night in September 1982. Touring behind his first post Rockpile solo effort, "D.E.7th", which featured a single penned by a young musician from New Jersey.

Since the show took place during Bruce's club hopping summer at a location he was known to frequent on a regular basis it seemed like a given there would be an appearance. The six song set performed with Bruce at the end of the show is well known and often traded among Bruce collectors.

Less known and not as well bootlegged is the excellent show Dave Edmunds puts on prior to Bruce joining for the six song set.

I'm happy to share here the complete show performed one night when a legend from Wales hooks up with a legend from New Jersey to make some magic in the night.

Never End, or Rock N Roll Never End
Rolling Stones, Live at the Cow Palace, San Francisco, July 16, 1975
I checked and there is a soundboard of this concert. This sounds very good. My guess is this is the soundboard. But when I say it is a soundboard, someone with a .37 ratio says it can't be. So all I'm saying is this sounds good. If you like 75 Stones and don't have this one, I suggest you get it. The price is right. With artwork

Early and Late shows

Mono SBD recorded on a Sony TC-D5M cassette deck using Maxell UDXLII C-90 Tape with Dolby B.
Played back on a Nak Dragon through an Avid MBox Mini III into a PC running WaveLab 6.11 software.
The resulting WAVs were tracked and faded in Audition.
Resulting WAVs were then converted to FLAC (Level 8) and .ffp's were generated using Trader's Little Helper.
The FLACs were tagged using foobar2000 v1.1.7.

If burning these 2 sets to audio discs, I'd suggest starting a new disc at each set's tape flip - between 12 & 13 for the early show, and between 15 & 16 for the late show.  Otherwise, the transitions for continuous play are smoothed as best as I could.

5. Tapersf & Mickeyfs Notes
Sometimes during the last half of the show, Davefs voice was about to crap out.  Then he just stopped moving or kicking around, and then concentrated on singing.  Though he sung off-key or out of the proper range more often than the previous show, he still managed to pull off the great gig. Kudos to him and his showmanship all through the night.

So hot and sweaty is the night that Eddie got red in the face with sweat dripping from his face and damping his shirt.  But his guitar is still solid and rocks!!  I was a bit worried but he seemed to have a terrific time with Dave and Wolfgang in the band.  He looked so happy and healthy.

Recorded from where it is a few seats away from the center block and closer to the stage by a few rows than the previous night with a Schoeps MK4s and Nbox combo.  The music sounds tad less fuller than the previous nightfs but sounds more upfront with guitars and vocals.  Both of Osaka 1st and 2nd recordings are fantastic in my opinion.  It all depends on your personal taste of good music.  I am sure you will like either of them at least.

6. Last Notes from uploaders
Please do not even think about selling or exchanging this recording with some valued materials.  I do not mind you sharing with others this recording in the most convenient format to you and your friends.  But if you do share this, please do not remaster it.  We have used the finest gears to capture the sound and took the long hours remastering it with the finest softwarer.  You can do better than shape-changing blood-sucking creatures called bootleggers do

To maximize your listening pleasure, get yourself a nicest set of either speakers or headphones.  The cheap Ipod earphones dose not serve you well on this recording.
