The Rolling Stones 1978-06-21 Coliseum Hampton, VA(1978 American Tour series Vol 7)

THE ROLLING STONES

10th June - 26th July 1978

North American Tour.

In this series we concentrate on audience recordings, leaving out the rehearsals, and of course the official recordings. KBFH-recordings will only be used for merges or matrix recordings.

Thanks to the people who recorded and shared these shows and also to my accomplices nzb and BlueTurns2Grey who gave me the benefit of their advice and support.

BlueTurns2Grey will be posting his video reworks simultaneously.

Line-up: MJ (voc, gtr, p)/KR (gtr, voc)/RW (gtr, pedal steel)/BW (bass)/CW (dr)/STU (p)/Ian McLagan (p, org, bvoc)

Volume 07

21st June 1978

(HAMPTON)

21
st June 1978:

For this show we have 2 sources:

- source #1 can be found on ‘Hellraisers’ (2002 Rockin’ Rott Recordings), the sound is average, distant sometimes very altered and it runs too fast.

- source #2 can be found on “Where The Green Grass Grows” (no label), coming from a vinyl rip. It’s lossless has a better sound slightly saturated. Two tracks are missing (‘Happy’ and ‘Shattered’) and the setlist is mixed up!

I chose to keep the 2nd source, to rebuild the setlist chronology and complete it with the Rockin’ Rott version.

As usual, the recordings are now de-clicked and the phase adjusted, the comparison with the official version shows that the 2nd source needed to be accelerated by +2 %.
