Comments: Recorded from Section 303, Row A. Whitesnake was originally scheduled as the opener but cancelled when David Coverdale had vocal chord issues. This performance was filmed for DVD to be released with the 30th anniversary edition of British Steel. As with all the other shows on this tour, the first part of the show consisted of British Steel in it's entirety and in sequence. Apparently in order to give the appearance of a full venue for the filming, tickets were being given away a few days prior to the show. We weren't planning on attending this show but it's hard to turn down free tix. I am glad we did go because this was a solid kick-ass performance that got my metal juices flowing again. I thought I had never seen Priest before but then I remembered that they had performed at
Live Aid back in 1985.

Prior to the show, the hosts of VH-1 Classic's "That Metal Show" led the crowd in cheers and chants for use as filler on the DVD. I've included the five minute segment for anybody that cares to hear it.

Our seats were probably not the best location for recording at this venue. However, since we had nobody in front of us and the nearby folks were quiet for the most part, I got a decent pull. The guy behind me kept trying to talk to me until my wife finally told him that I was taping. Toward the end of the show several younger girls turned up in the seats behind us. They were dancing and shrieking like teen-agers at a Beatles concert and continued to do so despite my evil, disapproving glances in their direction. I thought for sure they destroyed this recording. You can hear them in places but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Good thing I was using cards and not omnis. All in all this was a great concert that we enjoyed a lot. My pics from the show and crude artwork are also included.

If you like this recording, support the artist. Attend their shows and buy their music.
