Rolling Stones - Love You Live Los Angeles
Dogs & Cats 049

Original DAC CD -> WAV (EAC) -> FLAC (flacfrontend) -> You

Inglewood Forum, Los Angeles, California
July 9th 1975

Quality:
Very Good - Excellent Audience

One of the best recordings and performances from Tour Of The Americas 1975. Absolutely excellent show
Mike Millard is the taper of this one.

Compared to "LA Fog" (VGP), this DAC has a little more hiss - but also a but more punch and power (IMO). THere's no BIG difference though....but I prefer the DAC release.
Note that "Sympathy For The Devil" was used for "Love You Live", after editing and overdubbing

Artwork included

Enjoy....Erik_Snow

Geetarz Comments:

Disc 1, Tracks 1-6 recorded at West Palm Beach, Florida on August 4, 1974.

Disc 1, Tracks 7-8 recorded at Kiel Auditorium, St. Louis, Mo. on July 11, 1975.

Disc 2, all tracks, recorded at the Sports Arena, San Diego, Ca. on August 16, 1975.

The West Palm Beach show alone is worth the price of admission (which is free, by the way!) ... Amazing - EC and band performing the Who's "I Can't Explain" (with Keith Moon).

As to EC's performance of "Badge", it's one of 'those' shows ... "Mabel? MABEL? Fuckin' MABEL? Never heard of her..."

This is a fun one!  Enjoy!

Notes: Another good show by SRV & DT.  Unfortunately, Texas Flood has some sound problems, some really bad skips during the first 25 seconds.  After that, it clears up nicely.  Stevie's voice sounds muffled, but the guitar sound great.  The tapers are talking a bit from time to time, but nothing so bad as to discourage a SRV fan from really enjoying the show.  I'm just glad they were there to capture the show.

If you have a better recording, I'd love to see it upped to Dime.

This is a RESEED

I'm trying to put together the best full source, so this could accompany the full recording of the show:
which includes what would appear to be an inferior version of the FM tracks from the radio broadcast so I'm seeding these here.

Enjoy!

Why did I drive 1000 miles to see YES when I skipped the same show an hour from home?  It was really just an excuse to hang out with good friends in Florida.  I normally make this trip for Cruise to the Edge but it's so much fun that I'm now doing it twice a year.  And while I'm of the belief that it can't be YES without both Steve Howe and Jon Anderson, I generally stay out of the debate and try to enjoy the music.  And that I did - it was a great show all around, except for the sound in the hall.  For the life of me I can't understand how (in my experience) the sound is always sub-par in these fancy art-center halls. The drums sounded as though they were being played from inside an airplane hangar. Fortunately, we had a good angle and distance from the stage-right stack so after a little EQ from my good friend JW, this is a much more enjoyable listen.

My rating (scale 1-6)  Aud 4

Comment: There are audio problems. My EC devoted
tech told me that all of the problems are tape source
and for the most part are almost impossible to fix.
Tracks 201 and 202 were smoothed out a bit.
Time difference compared to back cover is
Track 201 - 12:35 and Track 202 - 10:01.
The techie also confirmed my opinion...
"Don't let the tape issues stop you from seeding it,
it's a very good sounding aud and it needs to be seeded."
Enjoy the show.

NOTES:

This PGH show was originally postponed due to the hurricane that hit Florida and they re-routed the tour
to go back to Florida on the night this show was to happen to make up the show they cancelled in Ft Lauderdale
the week before and that initally pissed me off royally but it all worked out since they had a lot more
shows under their belt when they finally got to Pgh. The Pgh show had initially sold poorly anyway and
they moved the show to a smaller theater so it made sense why they did this in hindsight. "Changes" also made
its way into the set by then too...a good thing!!! I had a prime middle/right seat and the sound was pretty
good as you can tell. With the RRHoF induction, and the new NA tour annoucement as "YES" featuring ARW, its a
bummer they are not coming back to PGH but I can surely understand why, based on how the first show sold. I hope
they put some more Rabin era songs in the show cause I'm going to see them in Akron, especially off of TALK...which
I think is such an underrated album. With that said, this was a fairly balanced setlist overall. With the talk of
new music as well, that is either going to force "replacments" or maybe a longer show, I hope its a LONGER SHOW!
Even though I love Steve Howe's playing, Alan White is basically a shell of himself (based on the RRHoF songs
performance), I truely feel the ARW version of the "Yes" band is the only one that matters to me. I hope they can
keep it going for a couple years at least. This show was not perfect, but overall, a pretty good performance.
They are clearly a band that hasn't played in long time together, Rabin's rust is very apparent this night at
times but its hard to complain when he hasn't toured in nearly 20+ years. It will only get better if they can keep
it rolling and it appears they are doing that with more dates announced. I doubt they will change anything up in
Japan since its such a short set of dates and prior to anything new being recorded, but the new NA dates have
potential for some new additions. I say at least, drop "The Fish" and add a "shortened" rearranged "Real Love" and
"Hearts" plus a new song or two and its a KILLER set! I got my ticket for the Akron show as that is about the closest
gig to me and it appears that is the better venue compared to the other show I was considering - Reading Pa (and the
Akron ticket was much cheaper and a better overall seat!). Let's hope the gear captures a good one!!! I included the
only related picture I took that night, I can't believe I didn't take any inside of the show!

BIG thanks to relayer35 for helping me master this. It's mostly his master --- I just made a minor low end EQ
bump and then bumped the overall levels a tiny bit more.

There are no fades in the tracks. I suggest starting Disc 2 with Track 10 if burning to CDr.

Repost if you like, but please, keep info and file set intact.

Another my friend Al gave me in the hopes of seeing some other rare gems pop up.

He couldn't remember where he got this one, it was over 30 years ago.

I requested this one from Al because I had never seen it in any form before and it was my 2nd concert and first metal show ever. It was cool catching Maiden on the the very end of the World Slavery cycle. We had great seats and another favorite Accept opened the show touring on Metal Heart.

The recording is so-so. Totally listenable but a little wavy and muddy in parts. Pine Knob (now DTE Energy Music Theatre) is outdoors so that may have had something to do with it. Anyways I may be a little bias but I enjoy it. And if I am correct it isn't widely circulated so I think the Maiden fans all over will dig it too.

Michael Anthony - Bass Guitar
Alex Van Halen - Drums

This recording has been circulating since '91 however this version is a new master cassette
transfer from my original analog master tape (Jan. 2010).

Great show from the F.U.C.K. tour. Second of 2 night stand on the first leg of the tour. Features the rarely played "Spanked" which they dropped not long after this show never to be played again. Not one of my better recordings as i was about halfway up the lawn so there's quite a bit crowd noise. It's still a good listen.

This is upload #81 from my "Master tape Collection". I'm going to start uploading shows from
my 600+ masters which includes uncirculated recordings from 2003 thru the present. I've taped just
about every show i've gone too since 1986 so you can imagine i have a lot of masters to share. Most
of my recordings from 1986-2002 have been circulating as i used to do a lot of trading back in the day.

All uploads however will be new master tape transfers directly from the master tape to CD.

Enjoy!
Brian.

P.S.
If you're the original taper of SRV's December 5th, 1989 performance at the Orpheum in Vancouver, BC I hope you see this request. Many people would love to hear that show. It was an excellent period for SRV. Also, does anyone know a man named Aaron Yamaguichi? He taped lots of bay area shows during the 80s/90s. I heared he lives in Chico, CA. He used Nak 700's with a dbx box through the 80's and maybe earlier. Anyway, he may have taped SRV's performance on June 8, 1990 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA among many others.

Lineage Tracks 5-9^:

^Original SBD source had tracking issues on Track 9 (probably from bad rip by seeder I got this from) so I replaced problem section using chunks of AUD track 9 after amplitude match to AUD was done on SBD Track 9.
This same amplitude adjustment was made on remaining SBD tracks so that the integration of the two sources would be seamless.  No clipping occurred.

The final gig of the "Revenge" tour. According to "KISS Alive Forever!", the band originally intended to continue on with a second leg of the tour following the holiday break; however, due to "Revenge" quickly sliding off the charts and the poor attendance figures reported for the accompanying tour, the idea was eventually scrapped.

Geetarz Comments:
EC begins the set having problems with feedback
from the PA system, shouting "feedback!" several times.
EC tosses in a few verses of "Sweet Little Liza" during
"Little Rachel". This disc is noteworthy for a rare
(if drunken) performance of "Honey Bee".
Last but not least, EC throws in "I get around" during the
chorus of "Mainline Florida" (I'll bet he did back in those days!).
