TOTAL TIME - 1:48:14

1. I was 3rd row, extreme left, so pretty much just tried to point the mics at the PA stack in front of me.

2. Because I was close, half of my intent was to get a decent recording, and the other half was to not worry about it, have a good time, and enjoy the show.

3. Either the zoom was being super sensitive and picking up a lot of my movements or it was being super sensitive and picking up a lot of wind noise or it was doing both. It was a bit of a windy night in a complete open-air amphitheater. Whatever the source, there is some extraneous noise present throughout the recording, though it seems to become less instrusive as the show goes on, so either I stopped moving as much, or it got less windy. Or both.

4. Also because I was close to the stage, there is occasionally some noise from some of the stage effects. The fog machines on the spider are super loud. That's all that noise at the beginning of Psycho Circus... and the pyro is really fucking loud.

Aside from all of that, it's pretty nice, clear, reasonably listenable recording. Enjoy at your own risk.

First generation cassette from Dean (eruption1962) Very good sound, louder, fuller and better than what I transferred in 2005 and likely the best we'll ever hear of this show. Transfer was done with a standalone and then ripped to the computer via EAC, and converted to FLAC. The editing consisted only of deleting gaps of silence, splicing and cutting tracks to make the show as continuous and seamless as possible. Otherwise this is a raw tape transfer with no equalization, normalization, noise reduction or any other hocus pocus. All cuts are on the tape. If you had this tape and put it in your tape deck, this is what you'd hear.

EAC logs, shntool results, FLAC Fingerprints and pictures of the cassette with tape cover are included.

Thanks so much to Dean for lending me his 1st gen cassette.

Hello Everyone:

Another fabulous evening of music with Alison Krauss and Union Station.  I've always loved bluegrass,  there's something about the combination of banjo, fiddle and mandolin that brings me joy.  As I mentioned in my Court Yard Hounds post, add to the mix a beautiful musician such as Alison and you're in for a good time.  The instrumental talents of the rest of the band is not to be understated.  Jerry Douglas plays the dobro like no one I've ever heard and Dan Tyminski with his unique vocal style, was great on mandolin and guitar.  The setlist has been pretty much unchanged for the tour, looks like Jacob's Dream has been dropped, good thing or there would be a whole lot of weeping on the recording.

Speaking of recordings, this has to be one of the top best captures for the year.  The people in my immediate area were very quiet clappers and being seated in the middle provided an excellent mix.  I'm also developing better techniques for editing the wave.  I've been a heavy user of the hard limit or wave hammer function in Goldwave.  Depending on the threshold setting, excessive compression can become noticeable and undesirable.  I'm using more of the shape volume feature to fade out and in the audience between songs effectively attenuating the audience without sharp transitions. I think the results came out good.  With more practice I hope to perfect this technique.

Artwork provided by Eric Thiessen. ( Huge Thanks ,to my friend, for his artwork ,and setlist contributions )
His Time, and Effort is very much appreciated on all of my recordings.
Suggested Disc split is after song 12 , to get all of this show on 2 discs .

Recording Notes : Best Acoustical Venue in this area. This recording turned out good. Minimal audience chatter at beginning of Acoustic set, then pretty much a respectable audience, the rest
of the show.

Personal Notes : I've seen Joe in this Venue three times now, ( JB III ) and to me , this Acoustic / Electric Tour was excitingly different . I enjoyed the Acoustic set better than the Electric set.
(Probably because it was different to me). We sat beside some identical twins at the show. 63 year old lady fans (interesting conversationalists as well),
who rode up from Florida. This was there 5th , JB Show .

Concert Notes : No changes in this current tour setlist.( Maybe Added " Look Over Yonder Wall " medley outro after " I Gave Up Everything For You" and omitted "Story Of A Quarry Man" ?
I Think his guitar was out of tune during one song, (Ballad Of John Henry) , so he threw his slide into the audience and walked to the side of the stage and used
a clip on tuner. ( He seemed to smile through this frustration as us , Guitarists,  can relate )..Don't Quote me on that as I'm not sure what happened. ?
A Buddy of mine sat behind the SDB and noticed he recorded to "Garage Band " ( software ) . He probably records all shows ? ?

Thank you's and "attaboys" are always welcomed. But more important to me , are your comments about his performance, and this recording.
It takes a lot of time to record, transfer, and get concerts ready for a torrent, so take time to say something...specially after you've listened to the show.

As always , please never sale this recording. I realize once it leaves my pc, I have no control of what you do with this.
But, if you sale this show, use your dirty money, and go support Joe Bonamassa
If you don't support Joe Bonamassa , then "Karma's A Bitch".

enjoy the show

NOTES:  In the late '90s a buddy and I set up some trades with one G.P./Guiseppe Panzicca/Blaine in Italy.  It became clear that this guy was not always honest with his gens and anything marked as coming from him should be taken with a grain of salt and *stay* as a "GP trade tape" so as to distinguish it from other versions.  That being said, there ended up being a lot of junk but also few gems from the shows we got from him.  This show has not been on DIME before and appears to be listed at

This show has been bootlegged many times. This is not the best-sounding version,
but this is perhaps the first time a 24-bit rip from this particular Vinyl set has
been made. The show itself needs no introduction as it is legendary, but this version
sadly missing "Bed's Too Big Without You," which can be found on other bootlegs from
this show. Artwork included. Enjoy!

Geetarz Comments:
EC begins the set having problems with feedback
from the PA system, shouting "feedback!" several times.
EC tosses in a few verses of "Sweet Little Liza" during
"Little Rachel". This disc is noteworthy for a rare
(if drunken) performance of "Honey Bee".
Last but not least, EC throws in "I get around" during the
chorus of "Mainline Florida" (I'll bet he did back in those days!).

Boot: "Well-Known Secret"
Dates: November 22, 1976
Venue: Boston Music Hall
City: Boston
Country: U.S.A.

Ex Stereo Audience Recording
Lineage: Screamer Bootleg CD > WAV > FLAC

Changes Made (Nero 7):
Phase correction of -0.12 msec
- Corrects balance offset of voices
- Clearer sound
Cross-mixed channels (96:4)
- More bass and body to the sound
- Individual harmonising voices now clearly / separately audible
- Neil's guitar and voice clearer and more to the foreground
Fixed 200+ volume fluctuations in all the acoustic tracks
Reduced the applause volume by -2dB on all acoustic tracks
Increased music volume on all acoustic tracks by +2dB
Reduced left channel by 10% on electric disks to centre stereo image
Evened the different volume levels on different tracks

Poor quality 'bonus' set included (Palladium, N.Y.C November 20, 1976) but not remastered

Quality: Got to be A++

IMHO this is possibly the best NY / CH ever !! The original boot wasn't well edited, but
with the changes above, it is now truly great. Neil's guitar is better recorded and more
to the foreground than most so if you like that...

...Don't miss it !!

remaster notes:
this was posted by Tom Phillips on Dec. 24, 2007, at torrent #176241,
(and previously by japrainbow at Hunger City) and was a very nice
recording (enough to get snatched 1647 times as of 11/27/08) except
there was one thing I felt it needed bigtime: ICPVR
(individual clap peak volume reduction), because in almost
every song (even the loud ones), the loudest thing in it
was a clap, if not several of them, mostly between songs.
So rather than reduce the whole applause stretches and create
a sudden cliffdrop in volume at the end of every song, the result
of the ICPVR means the loudest claps aren't as loud anymore but
the overall volume remains consistent. This recording sounds like
it was either made with dolby B, or EQ'ed at some point in a similar
way, to brighten the highs, which also boosts clap volume.
I love a good aud as much as anybody, and this is a nice aud, one of
the better Neil shows around from the mid to late 70's, for both
performance and recording quality, but really loud claps are something
I just can't listen to much of. I know some people have commented they
don't like auds at all (of anyone), and I'm pretty fussy about them myself.
The biggest reason I pass on an aud (other than unknown/too many generations
or a poor quality original recording), is too clappy. I have deleted several
DL's solely for that one reason, and the ones too good for deletion get
this treatment so I can enjoy it more. It takes alot of time to do a show
like this in that fashion, probably over 3 hours to do this one, so I only
do this if a recording is worth that time, and this one is, I believe.
the result of this is the overall applause volume is unchanged, but the
loudest claps are reduced to a volume more in line with the rest of the
applause, so it doesn't sound inconsistent or "doctored".
This post previously came with a "bonus disc" from NYC which was vastly
inferior quality, and I left that out of here because it's not part of
this show, and this is much nicer quality, I would guess probably a
Sony 152 master source. All the info. and artwork included with these
2 shows are included in here too. (unaltered, and no alteration is needed).
When I made my discs of this, I put the 2 acoustic sets on one disc, and
each electric one on another to get a 3 disc set. I did this before I was a
dime uploader, and before I thought to make thorough notes of all I did to this.
I may have done some re-tracking too, probably some minor level adjusting in some tracks,
if so I did not edit out anything from this fine pair of shows. Thanks to all who got
this to sound as good as it does. I think at least a few will welcome this improvement
to a very nice night of Neilness. Since Tom had the patience to even out 200+
volume fluctuations, (I do appreciate efforts like that) I had the patience here to
reduce at least 200 (maybe alot more) loud claps for a similar purpose.
to smooth this listening out some. I've had this for close to a year and am
very happy with the result, and I'm glad to share it with everyone in Neil Nation.
Do not sell this recording.
Trade freely and losslessly.

About The Who;

There are four names always on or near the top of the list of all time great Rock ‘n’ Roll bands: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and The Who.

The Who were formed by sheet-metal worker Roger Daltrey in 1963. The line up, after a couple of adjustments, established itself with Daltrey on lead vocals, Keith Moon on drums, John Entwistle on bass and Pete Townshend on guitar. Townshend, honouring his art student credentials, wrote (and still writes) music famous for having an ‘edge’, complemented by the wildly creative performance techniques of each member of the band.

The Who are the most exciting live band on the planet, with their Live at Leeds album (1970) hailed as the greatest live album of all time. The compositional skills of Townshend have always been way beyond the conventional, as is proven not only in classic songs like ‘My Generation’ and ‘Baba O’Riley’ but also in his two great rock operas (a form he more or less invented single-handed) Tommy and Quadrophenia.

Today, despite the deaths of Keith Moon and John Entwistle, The Who remain a potent force on the rock music scene. Their Concert for New York City appearance after the tragedy of 9/11 was a classic, as have been their annual performances at the Royal Albert Hall in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. In 2006, Pete Townshend wrote The Who’s first studio album for the new millennium, Endless Wire and the band toured Europe and the U.S. during 2006 and 2007, 2013 with Quadrophenia and on their current The Who Hits 50! tour.

In 2014 The Who began their anniversary tour, The Who Hits 50! which saw them tour the US twice plus dates in Europe and Mexico. 2017 sees an acoustic version of Tommy with the band performing at the 100th concert for the Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

The Who 2017 is;

Pete Townshend - Guitar, Vocals
Roger Paltry - Vocals, Percussion, Harmonica
Zak Starkey - Drums
Simon Townshend - Guitar, Mandolin, Vocals
Jon Button - Bass
Loren Gold - Keyboards, Vocals
John Corey - Keyboards, Vocals
Frank Simes - Musical Director, keyboards, backing vocals and assorted instruments including banjo, squeezebox, harmonica, mouth harp and claves!
