Nice little excerpt (around 30 minutes) of an early October show from U2, broadcast by Radio One. Some of these tracks have
disappeared since a long time from the band's setlist but others have reappeared in the Vertigo tour. This is one of my
favourite U2 tour, they sound great. Sound quality very good but not excellent.

Label: Living Legend LRCD 116
Audio Source: soundboard
Lineage: Silver --> EAC --> WAV --> FLAC 8 --> MWP
Number of Discs: 1
Artwork: included
Total running time: 49m 10s

Notes: The sound quality is quite good, being a soundboard recording from the early seventies. Unfortunately there are a couple of glitches throughout the disc that are on my original.

Interestingly this disc is reviewed on the excellent Bassman site (http://www.algonet.se/~bassman/bootlegs/91/hmv.html) but although the serial number and the artwork are exactly the same and I am absolutely certain I have an original silver, his tracklisting differs from mine. The tracklisting on the depicted artwork there shows the actual tracks on my disc and does include the "orgy instuctions" and not "Rebel Rebel" and "Panic in Detroit" as Bassman claims.

Info: An interesting read about this last Ziggy concert is to be found at The Ziggy Stardust Companion (http://www.5years.com/Retire.htm)
The Jeff Beck tracks were never officially released due to royalty/copyright issues.

(#) = Second to last time to this date that Stuff and Nonsense has been teased by the band (9/3/98 being the last).

Recording Notes:
Editing was performed to remove the glitches that were present after the remastering was performed.

Show Notes (thanks to Five Horizons):
The band is in a great mood, laughing, joking and smiling (especially Eddie). 'Last Exit' is botched and Ed says, "Fuck that song ... let's get to the next." A series of technical problems are evidenced, both in Ed's and Mike's sound. Although 'Leatherman' appears on the setlist after 'Better Man,' it isn't played. Ed says "hello" to his brother in the crowd before 'Daughter.' The 'Stuff and Nonsense' tag is a Split Enz tune. After destroying a tambourine, Ed tries to give it to a female show attendee but a struggle ensues and Ed says, "Give it to the girl." (He makes sure that she gets a second one at the end of 'Alive.') Ed says, "Once upon a time, we made a record with Neil Young. It took about six days, and we played, but Neil did all of the singing and stuff. We wrote and Neil helped out to make a couple songs to make a single - and uh, all that proves is that in six days Neil can write 12 songs and we can only write two. This one's called 'I Got Shit'." A wild 'Alive,' with Ed hitting himself in the mouth with the microphone, anointing the crowd with wine and proceeds to the end of a video screen and points to it as if displaying Matt. He runs back to the mic and adds an improv/tag (something about "sometime ..."). The song ends with Jeff bouncing a superball off the stage which he'd been toying with earlier. Before 'Red Mosquito,' he notes that Alpine Valley is the last place Stevie Ray Vaughn ever played. (SRV died in a helicopter crash after the show.) 'Yellow Ledbetter' is also for SRV and toward the end, Mike tosses in a bit of Jimi Hendrix' 'Machine Gun.' The whole band watches Mike solo with Jeff standing behind his amp stack where he's hung a sign from the audience that says "smile."

Yes - The Snow Goose
Gran Teatro Geox
Padua, Italy
17 May 2014

Three Album Tour performance.
The Geox Theatre in Padua is renowned for its good sound quality, especially if you are in the first sector/first rows.
The performance was quite good, apart from the slowed version of some songs. The new singer sang fairly well, though his voice was slurred and passed by the sounds of the guitars and of the bass. Effect probably wanted just to to hide some errors both of the singer, and keyboardist...
Anyway it was great to see the YEs again, together with my great friend mr_plod.

Ex Stereo Audience Recording
Lineage: Screamer Bootleg CD > WAV > FLAC

Changes Made (Nero 7):
--------------------------
Phase correction of -0.12 msec
- Corrects balance offset of voices
- Clearer sound
Cross-mixed channels (96:4)
- More bass and body to the sound
- Individual harmonising voices now clearly / separately audible
- Neil's guitar and voice clearer and more to the foreground
Fixed 200+ volume fluctuations in all the acoustic tracks
Reduced the applause volume by -2dB on all acoustic tracks
Increased music volume on all acoustic tracks by +2dB
Reduced left channel by 10% on electric disks to centre stereo image
Evened the different volume levels on different tracks

Poor quality 'bonus' set included (Palladium, N.Y.C November 20, 1976) but not remastered

Quality: Got to be A++
--------------------------

IMHO this is possibly the best NY / CH ever !! The original boot wasn't well edited, but
with the changes above, it is now truly great. Neil's guitar is better recorded and more
to the foreground than most so if you like that...

...Don't miss it !!

(Recorder 3 - Hobbes Master)

Recorded by: Hobbes4444
Transfer: mjk5510 (a Hobbes approved transfer)

Recorder: Sony Lavalier Mic > Sony D6 > Denon HD8

Transfer: Hobbes4444 Master Cassettes > Nakamichi CR5A (Azimuth Adjusted > Audacity > Peak Pro XT (volume smoothing / patch / edit / index / subtle tweak) > xACT > FLAC

Not only is Hobbes one of the current elite active tapers bringing us show after quality show but he began plying his craft back in the 1980's.  He has been very generous with us and supplied me his master tapes to transfer and share with everyone.

This is recorder 3 and easily the best capture of this show.

Recorder 1: 'ivannf' share no longer on the tracker
Recorder 2:  1st Generation - http://jungleland.dnsalias.com/torrents-details.php?id=36941
Recorder 3: 'Hobbes4444' Master Tapes

This show was a pleasure to work on as very little had to be done to it.  There were 6 seconds missing at the start of both 'Roulette' and 'Cover Me'.  I've patched both these missing bits with the 1st Generation source.  Both recorder 1 and 2 were missing the first few seconds of 'Love Me Tender' (actually recorder 2 was missing the song entirely).
'Love me Tender' is complete here and with the two small patches this show is now certified 100% complete in the best quality to date.
There was a 19 second volume drop during "I'm A Coward" I was able to boost and it's very close to the same dynamic as the rest of the show, so pretty seamless.

The April series of shows has gotten a bit of a bad rap over the years due to the static setlist and some of the tours' staged 'scenes' but hearing the show anew in this quality has given me a new appreciation for this particular show.

Thanks goes to Hobbes for allowing me to babysit his masters for a while, do the transfer and enjoy the show with a new perspective.

David Bowie The Savage Jaw Archives Volume 4

The Savage Jaw Archives.

The official SITA project in cooperation with Ziggy In Concert and Mind-Warp PaVilion.

Towards the end of the 1990's affordable home computers, CD copiers and internet connections forever changed the way that many music collectors traded their recordings. It became so much easier to contact other collectors from around the world without having to wait weeks for replies to letters, trades to be agreed and tapes to be copied, dispatched and delivered. Contacts could be made quickly and copies could be sent out quickly too. Unfortunately, the mail was still quite slow but it was all a big improvement in the opinion of many of us.

A group of traders would hang out at Ziggy In Concert forum and from there would get to know each other, arrange trades and generally have some fun whilst waiting for the mail to arrive.
(http://zic.proboards.com/  or http://www.angelfire.com/la2/zic/  for a little stroll down memory lane)

Move the clock forward to 2004 by which time many of us had "super quick" 512kbps home "broadband" and had become familiar with BitTorrent which enabled us to get recordings sometimes in hours rather than weeks. The focus for music collectors had moved once again. We were crying out for a Torrent site which specialised in the artist whose music had brought us all together, namely David Bowie.

Goodness only knows how much work went on behind the scenes but on April 1st 2004, Savage Jaw opened it's doors, inviting everyone in to join the swarm and enjoy David Bowie "At The Atlantis". Not everybody saw this development as a good thing but the vast majority welcomed the site and the recordings with open arms. Throughout it's relatively short lifespan, Savage Jaw operated strictly to the motto "Where Quality Counts". Everything available through the site was the very best available to us. Sadly, Savage Jaw as a Bowie Torrent site closed it's doors around August 2005 but left a legacy of which those involved can be justifiably proud.

Rather than forget about this legacy a fitting tribute was put together in the form of The Savage Jaw Archives.

This is either a SBD or a excellent audience, but since I've heard almost nothing but SBD recordings from Rush I will assume this is a SBD.

This is my first attempt at torenting a file so I hope everything is OK-any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Rush
1980-02-14

I had to grab this when it was seeded her recently. I saw this tour at the Cap Centre, killer show. Seeing the wealth of comments I just had to hear this show, this source...

...but I'm a bit confused by the "remaster" tag applied to it. I'm thinking it was more like a re-transfer. And though it was a nice source, I had some issues with it:

-It does have a decent SBD mix that's clean and airy, but also sterile and bright.

-It has a slightly low imprint with significant bounce of low-to-high amplitudes.

-The drums are louder than everything else with some random spikes.

-The highs are quite sizzly and brittle.

I corrected all that was possible, with some compression to give it a smoother mix, much warmth of both the high and low end, and digitally maximized. I really love it now.

Here's a clip of the "fight scene" from Bytor & the Snow Dog:

This is an upgrade to "superdav's" re-posting of the March 5th Osaka located here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=119553
Thanks to "superdav" for re-posting which motivated me to dig my 2nd generation source tapes out to confirm this show is available complete.

I never relieved that the circulating show from the 5th was incomplete, the bootleggers apparently screwed this one up, the re-posted version appears to be the silver disc bootleg "Osaka" which according to "Ghosts On The Road" is missing the last 2 songs.

So here is the complete March 5th Osaka show and I wanted to make sure this was made available true to the 2nd generation source.
I did some volume smoothing and boosted the overall levels slightly, there was a major volume gain the last 2 minutes of "Cinammon Girl" with some
high end distortion and I smoothed that portion to be more aligned with the rest of the song.  The high end distortion of course remains and I did not try
to eq that at all, I did not want to mess with the orginal integrity of the source tape.  Who knows what caused the volume gain on the original but I get the feeling that unlike the main portion of the show the audience is likely standing on the last two songs making recording a bit more challenging and
creating some fluctuations in volume, mainly heard during "Cinnamon Girl".  "Cortez" has no distortion and is aligned with the main portion of the
show in quality.

"Cortez" is interesting in that Neil cuts it short at about five and half minutes (the March 4th version runs seven minutes long).
During the solo you can hear Ralph Molina continuing the song after the main solo but Neil apparently gives him the "we're done" high sign and quickly wraps it up.  The whole "dancing across the water" ending section is absent from this version.

The March 6th show from the same 2nd generation source is still available here:

As usual sound samples attached...

Comment J-S Brasme:

Dire Straits had guests at every show they did at Wembley Arena in July 1985.

This nights special guests were Fransis Rossi (from Status Que) and T-Bone Burnett (songwriter/producer).

It is always nice to hear DS perform with other artists, they change the show a bit.

A nice concert to have.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

comments J.V Tol:

Pretty good sound quality.

Complete show with three special guests!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Enlight note:

great show , stunning performance from the band and the guests.

Francis Rossi from Status Quo plays on "Two Young Lovers" and T-Bone Burnett plays on "The Power of Love".

And the good old Hank B. Marvin joins Dire straits with his Red and White Strat for Going home.

Enjoy triple.

Sorry boys and girls  No covers for this remaster yet......so i have to ask the embarrassing question (again)if some can create or provide one ( thx in advance)

Iron Maiden 1981-03-31 Palasport, Reggio Emilia, Milan, Italy(V3)

Upgrade vinyl rip with correct track order, i.e. drifter and prowler now in correct places.

IRON MAIDEN - Palasport, Reggio Emilia, Milan, Italy, March 31st, 1981
(liberated 2 LP bootleg "The Time Conquerors")

First off, as usual (& I added some more wants!) here are some of the bands I am dying to see here on Dime: (pre-Belladonna) Anthrax, Die Kreuzen, Honor Role, Blast!, Ludichrist, Honor Role (sorry, already mentioned them), Dayglo Abortions, (early!!) Jag Panzer, Plasmatics, Blessed Death, early Christian Death, 45 Grave, Kepone, Butterglove, Christ On Parade, The Freeze, The Suspects, Sonny Vincent, Zero Boys, Big Boys, Nasty Savage, Detente, Fear Of God, early Hirax, early Angkor Wat, Watchtower, Shadow Project, Super Heroines, Eva O., Marginal Man, Victims Family, The Dicks, Scratch Acid, Yann Tiersen, Coral, and more Black Sabbath w/Ian Gillan - that's all I can think of now. Take heart (if you can)!

OK, here's the promised second double LP transfer, just finished a few minutes ago and already on its way to you (lucky bastards!).

Sound quality is pretty good (even slightly better than the "Running Free" bootleg), also seems to be sourced from a low gen if not master audience tape of the show. At times I wasn't sure whether the venue/place as indicated on the bootleg is correct at all, because Paul keeps saying "merci" (French for "thank you") but in between songs you can hear people talk in Italian and it seems that it was only Paul (and some other band members) having completely lost track of where they were on the tour.

For more info on the bootleg, please refer to http://vereine.rol3.com/Plasmatics/private/tradcoll/bands/ironcl.htm (and if you are into the Plasmatics also check out: http://vereine.rol3.com/Plasmatics/)

This was received in a trade a little over a week ago.  I have left it as I got it with NO enhancements.
When I saw BPDNEDCID's post it got me thinking and looking.  It was then that I discovered that my show
and his were the same.  This is an upgrade as it has been taken from the WW1 pre-FM vinyl.  There is NO
intro or outro here like on his and all the commercials and MC stuff have been edited out.  This really
is a fantastic show.  Unfortunately not the whole show but it stands all by itself anyways.

My sincere appreciation to BPDNEDCID, without your upload today and artwork this would NOT have shown up.
I am a firm believer in community and he has kindly offered his acceptance of this upgrade.  I have been
doing some collaborations and this is yet another one I am honoured to be a part of, BPDNEDCID, YOU ROCK!!!

PLEASE enjoy this and have fun......that IS what this is ALL about.

I also made custom covers.

There might be a better quality of this show out there because I believe there is a lower generation VHS of this gig if you have one - share :-)

DO NOT SELL AND DO NOT CONVERT TO LOSSY FORMATS!

I just digitized this audience tape that I traded for about 19 years ago. It is a decent recording of Yes
on the Generator tour from Detroit, MI. The concert is noteworthy because it is one of the few times that
Yes performed "I'M running" and "Final Eyes" from Big Generator before dropping both from the setlist.
If you can put up with the screaming maniac sitted near the taper in the audience it is a decent recording.
Let me know what you think.

Comments: U2 put on a good performance at a small club on their first visit to West Germany. It seems the audience is somewhat unreceptive for the first half of the concert, but the band wins their support by the end of the set, which is featured in its entirety on this disc. This would be a great bootleg, but pales in comparison to the superb recordings available of the concert from Boston, March 6, 1981 (See ANOTHER TIME, ANOTHER PLACE), which feature an identical setlist. It may be his experiences in Europe at about this time that Bono later described in "Stranger In A Strange Land". Color cover. This is the original pressing on this label.

Chimes Of Freedom
In The Garden

This is the first time this has appeared in unedited form
I can't believe how long this is running, thanks again to all who have given generously.
Not this tapers best film but still watchable with some great atmosphere.

VIDEO : Mpeg-2, 720 x 576. 25 fps, pic ratio 4.3. PAL
AUDIO : AC3 Dolby Digital, 48000 Hz, stereo 38.4 kb/s

This is the other chapter in the Daves collection. Up to now with very minor exceptions everything has been taken from the master tapes. But of course Mr D had access to many others also. In his collection there is a large number of U-Matic tapes. If you don't know u-matic is the studio standard video tape used back then by many TV studios. The tapes are huge easily 6-8 times the size and weight of a vhs tape and of course far better resolution / quality.

I have checked thru all of these and many again are much  better quality than circulating copies. It is to this resource we go next.

These will be with original sound though many will feature as sound upgrades eventually with my two mates Yassou and Madhasse helping out

COMENTS:

INCREDIBLE SHOW LAST NIGHT IN CAP ROIG.WHAT I SAY INCREDIBLE?, BECAUSE THE FEEDBACK BETWEEN AUDIENCE AND CHRISSIE STARTED TO BAD.
DURING THE FIRST SONG ( ALONE) ,CHRISSIE STOPED THE SONG TWO TIMES TO ADVERTISE TO THE AUDIENCE THAT HE DON'T TAKE PICS AND USE THE MOBILE.SHE SAY THAT SHE DON'T
WANT TO MAKE MORE ADVERTANCES ABOUT THIS, IF NOT SHE REFUNDS THE MONEY TO EVERYBODY AND THE SHOW WAS CANCELLED.

AFTER THIS, CHRISSIE SHE WAS MORE RECEPTIVE WITH THE AUDIENCE AND MAKE SOME JOKES , BUT SHE COMENTED DURING ALL THE CONCERT SHE
DOESEN'T WANT TO SEE MORE PEOPLE USING THE MOBILE.

ANOTHER FUNNY SITUATION ABOUT THE SHOW WAS THAT CHRISSIE SHE DIDEN'T KNOW WERE WE ARE PLAYING THAT NIGHT.SHE ARRIVES TO BARCELONA FROM THE LAST SHOW IN THE NORTH OF SPAIN AND WE SUPOSE THAT NO

BODY TELL HIM WHERE THE SHOW WAS.HE ASKS TO THE AUDIENCE FOR THE NAME OF THE PLACE, AND SOMEONE FROM THE FIRST ROW ANSWER ,"BARCELONA" BUT PROBABLY BECAUSE HE DON'T UNDESRTAND EXACTLY THE QUESTION,

AFTER A SHORT TALK SAY "CALELLA DE PALAFRUGELL".CHRISSIE LOOKS AT THE SET LIST FOR THE NAME OF THE PLACE, AND SHE DIDEN'T LOOK CLEAR HOW TO SAY THE LONG NAME AND SHWE DECIDED TO SAY BARCELONA.

THE PLACE (TOWN) IS "CALELLA DE PALAFRUGELL" IN GIRONA, NOT BARCELONA.THE VENUE IS CAP ROIG, A BEAUTIFUL CASTLE WITH A BOTANIC GARDEN WITH INCREDIBLE
VIEWS OF THE SEA ,THESE ZONE IS RECOGNISED FOR "LA COSTA BRAVA" IN GIRONA, BUT IS NOT  BARCELONA ,THIS TWON IS 130KM FROM BARCELONA.FUNYY MISTAKES.

SHE ALSO JOKES WITH THE MEMBERS OF THE BAND SOME TIMES , SPECIALLY WITH MARTIN CHAMBERS.THE SHOW LOOKS LIKE HE WAS THE FIRST SHOW OF THE TOUR, BECAUSE THERE ARE LOT OF MISTAKES
AND SOME PROBLEMS WITH CHRISSIE GUITARDS, BUT ANEWAY,THE SHOW WAS GOOD AND  VERY POWERFULL.I SEE THE BAND PLAY AT ROYALL ALBERT HALL IN APRIL 10TH AND BOTH SHOWS ARE VERY SIMILAR ONES.THE DIFERENCE,WAS THAT AT THE RAH WSAS NOT POSSIBLE TO RECORD THE SHOW SOMEONE SEAT AT MI SIDE , PROBABLY FROM THE PRETENDERS STUFF OF FROM THE RAH STUFF CONTROLED TO ME AND HE ASK TO ME TO UNPLUGGED MY EQUIPEMENT 2 MINUTS BEFORE TO START THE SHOW.TO SAD FOR MY FRIENDS OF DIME.

THIS IS A FESTIVAL WHERE THE AUDIENCE IS NOT REALLY A "CONVENTIONAL ROCK ATENDANCE PEOPLE", MOST OF THESE WHO CAME TO THIS SHOW THEY ARE V.I.P. PEOPLE,SOME OTHER ONES  TOURIST FROM
THE GIRONA AREA AND LOT OF POLITICS AND PEOPLE THAT PROBABLY WHO NEVER KNOW WHO ARE THE PRETENDERS!!MANY OLD PEOPLE WHO CAME TO DO  A SOCIAL RELATIONSHIP. ITS VERY FUNNY BECAUSE THE AUDIENCE IS SEAT IN THEIR PLACES VERY CALM AND JUST LISTEND THE MUSIC AND CLAP YOUR HANDS AND NOT MORE.PEOPLE ARE SEAT ALL THE SHOW.THIS IS VERY GOOD FOR TAPERS AND BOOTLEGERS. I DO ONE OF THE BEST RECORDINGS OF THIS YEAR, THANKS TO THIS AUDIENCE!!

RECORDED AND EDITED BY CARBOBUENO

FINALLY I TAKE A FEW PICS AT THE END OF THE SHOW THEY ARE ONLY A SHORT  VISUAL DOC.OF THIS SHOW.

THE SOUND AND VIEW OF THE SHOW ARE GREAT.

ENJOY THE SHOW.

SHARE THE MUSIC AND DON'T LOSE QUALITY SOUND-DO NOT CONVERT ON Mp3

David Bowie The Savage Jaw Archives Volume 3

Notes:
The third GN'R concert in Israel (again at the same location).
This time the band made a triumphant return with 2 original members, Slash and Duff.
According to media reports, it was one of the largest ever stages built for a concert in the country.
The concert was sold-out and gathered a record audience of some 62000 people.
The band started to play at 8 PM sharp and took only short breaks, during  their extensive set.
Despite the heat and rivers of sweat, they delivered a memorable performance.
Also, there were some cool fireworks and video-art from start to finish.
Despite the usual crowd noise, I was able to get a pretty good capture.
Nevertheless you'll hear a lot of noise, so be careful when you listen to this with headphones.
Enjoy!
