*Townes Van Zandt 1989-04-06 Neusüdende (Pfingstfestival) Gasthof Lindenhof Germany

Townes Van Zandt
Neusüdende (Pfingstfestival)
Gasthof Lindenhof

*Notes- I've had this show on cdr for a long time. I've been digging
through boxes because I knew I had a couple Townes shows that hadn't
been shared online. I thought it was time to share this in lossless
format, since It hasn't been done before. This show is listed in the
db, however it's listed as only having 6 songs. I've listened to this
show & it's complete without any cuts or edits. This was also listed
as being part of a festival- "Pfingstfestival", but I have no way to
substantiate that unless someone who was at this show steps forward.
It sounds like there's a lot of people in the room.
Apparently there's film of this show as well. I can't say for sure
if this audio was taken directly from the dvd video, but it does sound
like an excellent audience recording to me. Townes doesn't talk to
much other than to correct somebody who hollers at the end of Blue
Wind Blew "play another Hank Williams song!" He also mentions that he
learned to play "Fraulein" for his dad. Although he doesn't talk much,
this is a top notch performance, with a few rarely played tunes.

1) Dollar Bill Blues
2) No Place To Fall
3) Buckskin Stallion Blues
4) Pancho and Lefty
5) Short Haired Woman Blues *Lightning Hopkins
6) Ain't Leavin' Your Love

This is the second of 2 Van Halen uploads for me, and again is another excellent soundboard recording burned directly from the silver CDs in a CDR trade.
This show is from the Balance Tour (aka the "Ambulance Tour" due to Eddie and Alex's numerous medical issues during that tour).  This concert was also the
opening night of the tour, and was partially shown on MTV as part of their Spring Break '95 coverage at the time.  A great, spirited performance from the band and
awesome, official release quality sound make this a must-have.

Unfortunately the microphones' battery did not work - for this reason the qualiy is poor. There are overcompressions
and other flaws on the recording. The recording sounds distant though I recorded it at the right p. a. speaker system.

I have only seen an alternative recording by The Cranberries which sounds really good.

Justdave's notes:
Great show from the Where I Should Be Tour, Peter and his band are in fine form. This is a vinyl rip done by our friend Draftervoi and what a fine job too. I meant to post this one a while ago and thought I had. I made CDs of this one and jammed it in the car for a week. It's still in one of my house CD players getting heavy rotation. You get some fantastic live performances with a few interview snippets here and there which have been chaptered so you can avoid them if you like. They only add up to 2 minutes 58 seconds so you still get an hour and a half of music. Trust me people You Need This!!

Many thanks to both draftervoi and justdave for making this recording's much appreciated!

This is the exactly stream received on my set top box. I just trimmed the start and ending of the file, to remove junk.
People complained about the audio and Multishow (the channel that aired the show) said on Twitter that it's not their fault. The band technicians set it all up and they just put on the air.

Personal notes by Efe Dinler:

A hot and tiring day in Istanbul! My girlfriend joined me in the last minute, so I didn't bore on the line of waiting. Our tickets were from the front row, but I'm really regretting it! We waited for 2.5 hours for the gates to open. In 16:15, we were in the stadium, and I was in the third row from the barrier. My view was perfect! After the amazing performances from Voodoo Six and Anthrax, we were pretty much tired because of the terrible heat and sunshine. And the place we stood was getting crowded in every minute, so the privilages for breathing had got taken from our hands and we couldn't eat or drink anything. In 20:45, we heard the first notes of Doctor Doctor, and the crowd became restless! When Maiden hit the stage, it was impossible to hear them because of the singing and shouting crowd! I have never experienced a crowd like this, it was magnificent! After 2 Minutes to Midnight, my girlfriend was about to faint from the heat, as I was going to too. We literally haven't got any oxigen left and we couldn't breathe. So we had to move backwards from the front. But all the front row tickets were sold out, and it was nearly impossible to find a desolated place with a good spot. Before Afraid to Shoot Strangers, Bruce Dickinson talked about the other artists that were going to give concerts in Istanbul, but cancelled them because of the events started in 31st May, between the Gezi Park protestors and the police. And Bruce said they are not fucking afraid of these events and of Istanbul. He said Iron fucking Maiden my friends! Crowd surely loved it! We moved to the very right till the middle of Afraid to Shoot Strangers. After that, I taped from the right side till the end of the performance. Overall, it was a great night and a fantastic performance from Iron Maiden, after the terrible performance in 2011, that was a relief! But I think I'm getting old, so I should prefer buying tickets from the seated places from now on :)
