Led Zeppelin 1969-04-27 Fillmore West, San Francisco, Ca

4-27-69 Fillmore West, San Francisco, California

131 minutes, complete

First Set

Train Kept A Rollin'
I Can't Quit You
As Long As I Have You
~Fresh Garbage
~Mannish Boy
~No Money Down
You Shook Me
How Many More Times
~The Hunter
~(Here We Go Round) The Mulberry Bush
Communication Breakdown

Second Set

Killing Floor
~Sweet Jelly Roll
Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You
White Summer/Black Mountain Side
Sittin' And Thinkin'
Pat's Delight
Dazed And Confused

To my knowledge, this concert has never been released
in the correct running order, as above.

This show has long been available as:
1)a soundboard recording, incomplete, with unbalanced volume.
2)an audience recording, almost complete, but very slow running.
Some of you may have seen the audience recording listed
as being 133 to 140 minutes long. This is incorrect, probably
due to the slow running speed of most of the audience tapes.

Both versions were used, to assemble the show, in as
complete form as it will ever be.(there are a couple small
area of less than 10 seconds, missing from both recordings)

Very low generation DAT tapes were used. They were:
Soundboard-    Master>DAT
Audience-         2nd gen>DAT

"The Dancing Avocado" - Private Release
Stereo Audience Recording (mics right on stage)

Master Reel > DAT > CDR (HHB850) > WAV (EAC) > SHN > FLAC8 (see notes below)

1. leader / tuneups (01:02)
2. As Long As I Have You (18:16)
3. Killing Floor (08:53)
4. White Summer (10:10)
5. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You (07:11) (2 or 3 secs cut at beginning)
6. Pat's Delight (12:13)

Total: (57:45)

Jameskg's Notes:
This is pretty close to the high speed reel master source, with only one CDR gen (if the
lineage is to be believed). Presence has a DAT of this master he says is a hair longer, but
he can't get it to cooperate and may try to get another copy from the trader. His probably
won't have suffered from the track cuts my source did, so it'll be a bit different, if he can
ever track it back down. For now, here's mine.

Extended Lineage info:
----------------------
2 neumann u89s (on stage)
master reel @ 15ips
datx?
hhb 850
eac
cd wave (bad cuts, but seemingly no data lost)
mkwact (SHN)

JAMESKG:
--------------
- SHN to WAV (FOOBAR2000)
- CEP 2.0 to fix splices (mostly ALAIHY, KF - see below)
- WAV to FLAC8 (FLAC FRONTEND) verified, aligned on sectors. No clicks, pops.

This show had some PA problems in a few places (Jones' bass rig, mainly) and the PA had a slight buzz
all night (only noticeable between songs or very quiet passages). But hey, that's how it went down that
night, so it's just like being there - except - Plant's mic seems distant - which adds credibility to
the 2 neumanns on stage thing. They'd have picked up the drums and amps and Roberts voice would have
been on the house PA, which was probably just forward of the mics (or in line). I kind of like it this
way - as I can really hear the band!

This is a good source, but the track marks were screwed up. I fixed them all and merged the splits back
together. A DC surge was corrected at 7:56.50 in ALAIHY.
There is a tape speed up during recording in White summer - I slowed the section back down to match pitch
the best I could. You can tell where it is, but I recovered 3 or 4 seconds of lost Jimmy no one has probably
heard since then!
Converted to flac 8 when done. The taper didn't do a perfect job, but the sound is a B+ or an A.

Presence's Notes:
Can't take any credit for this one -- it's all Jameskg's baby. And an incredible sounding one at that. A MUST
HAVE. This blows away any and all bootleg releases.

This is for Jameskg thx for all the great shows you post.

Setlist:

5. Pat's Delight

Info taken from bootledz.com

4-24-69
Blues Anytime (Empress Valley), Conquering California (Dinopower Records), Cracker Jack Blues (Jelly Roll), Fillmore
West (LSD), Fillmore West '69 (Scorpio), Psychedelic Raw Blues (Immigrant)
Scorpio and Immigrant are both missing 40 seconds of the introduction. Dinopower is missing the entire introduction.
Immigrant and Dino both have a 2 second gap early in White Summer that isn't found on the other releases. Scorpio,
Immigrant, and Dino are cut near 3 minutes into White Summer, missing 11 seconds of music. A total of 38 seconds have
been removed from Immigrant's titles in the area of the speed up during White Summer. Immigrant and Dino are the only
titles to have a dropout two minutes into Pat's Delight. Dino has a dropout in As Long As I Have You not found on the
other titles. It's also missing the last 7 seconds of tape after Pat's Delight.
Empress Valley replaced the tape stretch in White Summer with what seems to be tape from a different show. The tape
gap in the beginning of Babe is completed here using the Danish TV show.
There's no difference in tape generation between the titles. There are differences in amplification. Immigrant,
Empress Valley, and Dinopower are the loudest, followed by Jelly Roll.

Disc 1 Track 1-5:
Teen Club, Egegaard Skole, Gladsaxe, Denmark
March 15, 1969 (Afternoon show)

Review:
An incredibly powerful concert! The band is really ripping through everything tonight. As Long
As I Have You is a shortened, compact and brutal version. Dazed And Confused is missing here, only
the second time known (so far, see February 1st, 1969 for the other). Page checks the guitar-tuning
with a bossa nova riff, quickly followed by the other two instruments for a few seconds, Plant says:
"We'll try to carry on despite Che Guevara" much to everyone's amusement. You Shook Me and Communication
Breakdown are massive as well.
-Argenteum Astrum

Disc 1 Track 6-9:
Brondby Pop-Club, Norregard Hallen, Brondby, Denmark
March 15, 1969 (Evening show)

Review:
Another excellent and raw, powerful show in front of a small crowd. Robert's voice is a little sore but
he makes up for it in passion and the band sounds very primitive, raw and powerful. The extended Dazed
And Confused is the perfect example.
-Argenteum Astrum

Disc 2:
Super Session, Tivolis Koncertsal, Copenhagen, Denmark
March 16, 1969 (Afternoon show)
