23. Don't Stop
24. Silver Springs

25. Songbird
26. Outro Speeches

Notes: I had some bad battery issues that I didn't notice until it cut out completely
in the middle of Landslide (didn't actually notice until after the acoustic set). There
are a few very small cuts resulting in only about 10 seconds worth of music loss, other
than the 2.5 songs lost in the acoustic set. Otherwise I think it came out really well!

(*) Ed singing with Lightning & Thunder.
(#) Has very quick "Jeremy" tease after song.

Recording Notes:
The first song's levels were fixed, and the entire Pearl Jam show got a mids and highs boost. The Frogs' source was originally plagued with problems...most of these have been fixed but some minor pops, etc. still remain.

Show Notes (thanks to fivehorizons):
Security permitted cameras into this show. There is no pit at this venue—seats are bolted down. The mood was tentative, given the outcome of the previous show in San Francisco. After becoming comfortable with an extremely appreciative audience, the show became unforgettable. Ed quipped, "I gotta tell ya, my stomach hurts like hell right now. I think I got Cryptosporidium," a reference to a cryptosporidium outbreak in the Milwaukee water system in the early 90s. (Recall he left the stage early at PJ's previous show in San Francisco due to food poisioning.) A Neil Diamond act (Thunder & Lightning) joined PJ for 'Forever in Blue Jeans.'

**Low-circulation tape**

Lineage: master cassettes or first generation (best guess) -> audio CDs -> EAC -> FLAC

Solid tape from what is probably a portable machine with built-in mics.

Our tapers seem to know what to expect, since one of them announces "All Good People" before Jon. And someone mentions "tomorrow," so they were probably planning to see the band again while the tour is in the area.

No remastering or alteration of any kind was done to the source recording. Hope it brings back good memories for some of the 18,000 people who were there, the night before the big show at Roosevelt Stadium, Jersey City.

Enjoy... and sit down!

Yes 1976-06-12 John F. Kennedy Stadium Philadelphia, PA

Date : Saturday, June 12, 1976 (30 years, 2 months and 3 days ago)
City : Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States Of America
Venue : John F. Kennedy Stadium
Capacity: 105,000

Who knows>CD-r>Eac secure mode>Flac 8

At the request of some "Vintage Yes" Here is a good Solos tour show. Again, one of the later dates where most of the solo material was dropped in favour of more Yes-friendly choices. This is also the legendary gig, where Yes played to their biggest audience to date in the massive JFK Stadium. The batteries die about 26 minutes into Ritual. It has listenable sound, likely 2nd or 3rd gen. This tour Yes incorperated a wonderful laser show with the music.. would have loved to have seen ritual.

Recording Notes:
The bulk of this is sourced from a digital clone of a BBC Transcription Services cd silver, with some parts
patched from a different radio cd silver for Westwood One. On all of the known broadcasted versions,
certain parts of the show in-between songs were consistently cut out (mostly guitar tunings and Ed's speeches
about reproductive rights and taping shows where he is not using "radio-friendly language"). These missing bits
and pieces have been collected as a separate montage on the last track, being sourced from a video. The quality
of the video source differed greatly from the pre-FMs, so it was not feasible to try and patch it into the main
source, but it is included to hear what was cut from the broadcasts. All talking by DJs that were present on the
original broadcasts have been removed.

For the technically curious, this is how the sources were patched together:
0:00.000 - 0:20.000(approx)    Westwood One US pre-FM
0:20.000(approx) - 4:05.720     BBC Transcription Services UK pre-FM
4:05.720 - 4:12.950            Westwood One US pre-FM
4:12.950 - 7:24.231           BBC Transcription Services UK pre-FM
7:24.231 - 7:33.186            unknown UK pre-FM>1st gen analog + Westwood One US pre-FM mix (original mixing: ThinAir)
7:33.186 - 51:57.668           BBC Transcription Services UK pre-FM

Artwork Notes (spacedvest):
Really goofy stuff for this one (sorry, this was done years ago). I updated a little of it for this particular release,
but most of it is the same as from what I had done a long time ago.  :)

Show Notes (thanks to Five Horizons):
Amazing version of 'Black.' 'Even Flow' is dedicated to Dee from L7 as she "... hasn't had her period for nearly two
months." Lyrics are modified to "... pillows made of Tampax." Ed encourages the crowd to tape shows. Hopping into the
crowd during 'Porch,' Ed barely makes it back to the stage as security mistakes him for a stagediver.

If there's any Neil Young era of that I particularly appreciate, it is circa El Dorado. To me, this is the sound of Neil finding himself again, and there aren't all that many documents of the period.

JEMS' brother-in-arms JP was living in Portland when Neil rolled through with a set that sandwiched a lot unreleased material between more familiar acoustic and electric sets, and despite a typically annoying Neil crowd (what is it with his fans and the need to yap and yell?), he did a rock-solid job on the recording.

The master had never been digitized so I ran it through the Nak, though not without problems. We had issues with the tape getting stuck and while it didn't snap, the crinkling left some noise artifacts on a couple tracks, though nothing too obtrusive.

As the tape was a wee bit distant I did a little gentle remastering to lift levels and open up the soundscape. Sounds pretty good to me. Samples provided.

I've credited this to the Lost Dogs as, during the show, Neil renames the band.

Comments welcomed please. JP is reading, too.

30 seconds near the start of Slow Train when the bass drum kicks in there is some frantic volume adjustment due to some misjudgment on my part and is of reduced quality. Othewise I'd rate it a good to very good recording. There are samples, check for yourself.

Notes: A friend recorded this on gear meant for voice recording to create a humble document of the event. I have not seen this show turn up on DIME, so I asked the person to share the WAV files and my request was kindly granted.
This is not a pristine recording...it would rate a B or B- in the old tape trading days. Parts are a bit distorted, and there is crowd noise, but it is mostly limited to between songs...although there is some sing-along at points.  My friend is not part of the taping world  and did not set out to make the ultimate aud recording, so please hold any hateif anything, we owe a debt of gratitude (until a board, FM or Schoeps turns up)...and in fact if you put your "bootleg ears" on it's not bad at all...and if you're a hardcore Sir Paul fan it's a must: It's the first night of the "One on One" tour AND Paul breaks out some rare tunes, including the first ever "Hard Days Night" since the Beatle days, AND the show is complete.
So relax, grab a beer and enjoy the first night of the tour...

Note: The 1st part of this show was seeded before here on Dime on March 23rd from edtyre. I asked for the second part of this show and got it from Giona (many thanks!!!). I merged both sources and now only the last 5 songs of this show are missing (see GOTR). But be aware, the 2nd part is not as good as the 1st one. I will post some samples.

Set List provided by Sugar Mountain, Thank You Tom and GOTR, Thank You Pete.

Dan Lampinski recorded over 100 concerts in the Providence/Boston area, mostly between 1974 and 1978. His earliest recordings were made with an internal microphone deck, and though they are somewhat lo-fi compared to his later work, some very great moments in rock history were captured for posterity. In late 1974 he bought a Sony TC-152SD tape recorder, a Sony ECM-99 stereo microphone, and began using Maxell cassettes. He was also fortunate enough to have a friend who provided excellent taping seats for many shows, resulting in high quality recordings. In 1977, he switched over to a Nakamichi 550 tape recorder, two Nakamichi CM-300 microphones, and continued using Maxell cassettes.

He recorded many of the major 70's bands: Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult, Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull, ELP, Kiss, Black Sabbath, The Who, Al Stewart, Alice Cooper, Jeff Beck, Bruce Springsteen, Supertramp, Jean-Luc Ponty, Moody Blues, Neil Young, The Faces, Rush, Rick Wakeman, Kansas, as well as several "under the radar" acts.

Since Dan never traded copies of his recordings, they are all essentially uncirculated. Some copies were made for friends, but these releases are the first time most of these recordings have ever seen the light of day, and are direct from his master cassettes. No EQ'ing has been done to any of the transfers. Feel free to EQ, matrix, patch, etc and re-post if you like, just give Dan credit for the original recording.

Dan was very meticulous about taking good care of his tapes and is very pleased that these recordings will now circulate among the trading community. Please honour his kindness and generosity by sharing these recordings freely.

This nicely assembled 10 CD boxset spans the entirety of EC's 2001 run at London's Royal Albert Hall. The back cover contains a nifty cross reference showing which songs were performed on which nights. Sources differ from those used on the "Vagabond" boxset from Mid Valley.

Sweet As Kerosene - 1989 Compilation

Produced by angelwithfourfaces (Ronald Zavala)

Artwork Included.

This was a version I downloaded back in February of 2009.

My sole contribution to this torrent was to change the track titles to the names of the songs and to create an info file identifying the venues and dates for each track.

A huge thanks, as always, to all of the tapers, without whom this would not be possible, to Ronald Z. for putting it all together, to the original uploader for sharing it with us and to my alter ego from another time and place, Dusty Old Fairgrounds, for providing the artwork.

The following notes are from the previous uploader:

multiple CD-R sources > EAC secure mode > .wav > CoolEditPro > .wav > .flac > my hard discs > HC > YOU

Direct from my hard discs this great great 89 compilation.

I downloaded this from Sharingthegroove long time ago. My part of the deal is the last part of the lineage >HC>you.

All discs contain what I downloaded.

I just added my info file and the artwork from Dusty Old Fairgrounds. Thanks DOF!!

I know hkdave seeded this one on Tapecity in 2006. His was in shn.

A big thank you to Ronald and the original uploaders of this great meterial.

What I have is what you get, Enjoy!

This is a famous show, as Neil lost his dog Elvis on the way to this show.
He's told the story of losing, and subsequently finding, Elvis many times as the intro
to the 1992 song Old King. This show has a unique setlist with one of two performances
of Lady Wingshot, and one of the few pre-2000 performances of Bad Fog Of Loneliness, a rarely
played Ways Of Love, the then un-released Silver And Gold, and then all of the Restless material.

The recording is decent (thanks Dan). You might want to turn the bass down a little on your stereo once the
electric set starts. I noticed some pops and clicks which I tried to cleanup, but probably missed a few.

09 Tonight's The Night (Audience)

Some 10+ years ago I did a transfer of this show using average equipment and before I knew too much about digitzing tapes.
That version I traded to Pink Robert and it eventually found it's way here at least in 2006 and maybe earlier.
A few things I realized about that first transfer, I had no clue what I was doing on eq'ing, smoothing the levels,
taking out pops/clicks and likely used noise reduction in the process and had no clue about azimuth adjustment.
In addition, why I didn't patch the missing part of Heavy Love I'll never know.

I've been planning to revisit this show for some time and once I confirmed I was smart enough to not toss the tape after the first transfer (and re-found it),
I finally found time to take on a new transfer.

Anyone that has the previous version knows there are a number of problems with the Soundboard source of this show in volume fluctuation and few pops & clicks.

Here are the fixes I've made:
Smoothed and leveled ending of Sugar Mountain
Smoothed and leveled start of Needle & The Damage Done
Boosted drop in volume in the middle section of Needle & The Damage Done
Removed a number of pops & clicks in the source tape
Regarding the SB tape (3rd Generation) any Eq'ing was very slight,
it always bothered me that Neil's guitar seems to be buried in the mix and the vocals pushed forward
so I pulled the guitar frequencies forward just a touch to help balance it a bit better, this improved the acoustic section more than the electric section.

As for my Audience master, though it's not as good as the Dallas show I taped the next night, all in all, I was not disappointed with it considering the location I was taping from.

So here you have a fresh transfer that makes,  for the first time, the SB/AUD mix complete with no missing sections.

I'll share the audience master soon for those that want it all.

Enjoy!
