Tin Machine 1991-10-12 Circus Krone Munich, Germany
Tin Machine
Circus Krone, Munich, Germany
October - 12 - 1991
Matrix of 4 different recordings from the same show:
1. unknown gen, 3 wav-files by a generous donator (incomplete show)
2. unknown gen, 3 wav-files by a generous donator (almost complete show)
3. extracted wav-file from video TM At The Circus, uploaded on BowieStation by Snipertje here: https://www.bowiestation.com/torrents-details.php?id=962 (incomplete show)
4. extracted wav-files (on YT obviously only mp3) from 2 video tracks on Youtube, Amlapura: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwEC9_Ht_Hs and One Shot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TtHAvi1Iu4
Processing:
wav files of 4 recordings -> transfer to Samplitude 11 Silver -> arrangement of matrix (remaster/edit) -> FLAC (44,1 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo) -> bowiestation
Vg to Vg+ sound after some EQ. Source 1 is superior in sound as the other versions and thus has a higher ratio on the matrix. As source 1 seems to be a low gen all other sources were adjusted in speed and pitch to this source. This Matrix represents now the complete concert. I decided to cut the intro to 2:20 min as only audience noise and the TV news in the back can be heard on the longer intro of source 1.
Additional info about sources:
1. very long intro (9 min), tracks 9 - 11 missing, about 11 sec in middle section of track 7 missing, about 27 sec in middle section of track 14 missing, some aud noise between some tracks missing
2. shorter intro (about 2:20), about 15 sec in middle section of track 12 missing, some aud noise between track 18 and 19 missing, long outro
3. tracks 1 (intro) to 4 missing, about 6 sec at start of track 7 missing, about 7 sec at start of track 8 missing, almost complete track 12 missing (only 50 sec at start present), about 23 sec at start of track 19 missing
4. the 2 YT tracks have very good sound quality and so could fill the gaps of source 1 well
This is a very good show, the sound is still a bit rough and quite some echo is present due to the bad acoustics of the Circus Krone hall. The work on this Matrix was certainly the biggest effort I ever engaged for any show. I did it mostly because it was the second time I attended Bowie live. I have not many memories of the show but the one which lastest longest is that it was one of the loudest concerts I ever attended. So I think it is still remarkable that the sound of the Matrix is very acceptable.
For the attached CD cover I took stills from the YT videos which have a better picture than the TM At The Circus vid. Nevertheless I also worked on the latter video and dubbed it with the Matrix sound. The video will be upped at a later time.
