Yes 1984-06-21 Sporthalle Köln, Germany

YES
Köln, Germany
Sporthalle
21. Juni 1984

-reseed-

minimax master-series #033

I don't wanna change the crap I once wrote about this one folks, so: enjoy!!

Master - Audience recording from my old Maxell XL II Tapes

My Artwork is included !!

This concert was taped with an old AIWA walkman and an extra stereo-microphone
(I can't remember what exact equipment I used those days).

As I did not record this concert myself I don't know from what place
in the Sporthalle it was recorded. The sound quality is excellent -.

I had a ticket for that show but finally could not manage to go there.
So I gave the ticket to a friend of mine (Thanks Kurt for taping it!!) who
recorded it for me. He did a fine job!!! O.k., the first few minutes are missing,
don't ask me why, but it starts nearly at the end of the first song (Cinema).

So here's my other master from the 90125-tour and it is a typical YES-show.
Means: we have a (short) drum-solo, a long guitar-solo showing the 5.000 people
in the audience that there's someone who can play the guitar. Who really can play the guitar.
Did you hear it, who really, really can play the guitar. And we have a bass solo.
And a Jon Anderson -sing-along-solo and a keyboard-solo.
And - of course- their Yes-must-play-it-since-1863-but-noone-can-hear-
it-anymore-Roundabout - as -an -encore.

But (and that is different) - as we have the 90125-Yes-band on stage -
there is no "Firebird Suite-Intro".

Not too much of sarcasm here, I enjoyed it to listen to it after many years, but
I hated it too!!! Now is up to you. Hope you like it.

Line-up: (unconfirmed!)

Voc: Jon Davison, replaced 15 min. before this gig with Benoit David,
who was fired 55 seconds before the lights went out and replaced that evening with
Jon Anderson

Synth: Patrick Moraz, didn't reach the Sporthalle in time due to problems at the Swiss-frontier, replaced by
Oliver and Rick, the famous Wakeman-family, replaced due health-problems (their backs! their backs!)due to
transporting 342 moog-synths from hall to hall from day to day those touring-days, replaced moments before
the first chords of "cinema" by
Tony Kaye

Drums: Alan White, wanted to be replaced every evening on that tour and since that tour, but he knows that
he always gets a warm meal after every gig they play, and as he cannot cook.....

Bass: John Entwistle, noticed a few days before that evening that this band here also would not be The WHO, too, not be
the MSG in NYC, and Jon Anderson didn't react at all calling him Roger, replaced by
Trevor (formerly known as Guildo!) Horn, who preferred playing sax, horns and chess, finally, as usual, replaced by
Chris Squire

Guitar: Steve Howe, couldn't come over from Dortmund, Germany, where he was still on stage since 1974 playing a
huge guitar solo in the middle of "The revealing science of god" on the YES-Tales from Topographic Oceancs-Tour,
wisely replaced with Billy Sherwood, who minutes before the opening chords of "Cinema" got lost in some
forests near Nottingham, replaced by Peter Banks, who said "No" to YES that evening as he had much more
success under his second prename Tony with another Ex-Prog-Rock-Band, stante pede replaced with an unknown
street musician from the Fussgängerzone at Cologne-Zentrum, named:
Trevor Rabin
