Comments (not mine):
Here’s a short set by Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers recorded at the Pinkpop Festival on May 30, 1977.
Petty and the band were on their first tour of Europe, opening shows for Nils Lofgren.
This is one of Hans de Vente’s tapes that he digitized a few years back. As Hans put his tapes up as one single flac file, I chaptered it into individual songs and spent a couple of hours removing radio static one pop at a time in Audacity.
There was a large drop-out in "Jaguar and Thunderbird" and I blended it back together; you can still hear it but it’s less jarring.
Sound quality is Very Good FM. It's a nice, rockin' set, and like a lot of opening acts trying to work their way up to the top, they're "ON" for the entire performance.
Support the artists! Buy their official releases, go to their concerts!
