Volume Eighteen of the DS Archives takes us back to the beginning of the Darkness On The Edge Of Town Tour with a modest upgrade to the Recorder 1 source of opening night.
Previous releases of this show include “Go!” and a re-mastered version of that release “Buffalo ‘78”. This new 2016 low generation transfer from Dan’s archives is clearer and includes patches to all the missing bits using the alternate recording source.
It should not be considered superior to the alternate recorder 2 source released as the “JC Master Tape”.
As a bonus, the fascinating soundcheck has been included, unfortunately Dan’s copy only consisted of the first 15 minutes, this has been supplemented out of my own archives so the entire soundcheck could be included.
Peak Pro’s Repli-Q software was used to match the two segments as closely as possible, both segments should be considered an upgrade to the circulating version but you will notice a drop in quality from Dan’s copy to mine.
Thanks to the usual suspects that put me in touch with Dan, their assistance and passion for Bruce and getting this music in your hands continues to be invaluable...IvannF, EarlMv, Oats1jvo and my compadre Butterking from JEMS for the use of the NAK DR-01.
The biggest thanks go to Dan for making his archives available for us all to enjoy...please show your appreciation in the comments.
