Notes:
At least one other SHN version of this show circulates
as of June 18, 2002. The previous version is from a
"liberated" bootleg. It suffers from a big cut in "Drums",
as well as a cut in "Space".  This version is a direct
copy from a DAT clone. No digital processing other
than resampling has been performed. No fades added.
Tracks can be seamlessly reassembled when a longer
disc format becomes available.

Thanks to all the hard work from the folks mentioned above with
their loving care getting these sources out.  Also a thanks for
some of the images used in creation of the artwork.  I found them
years ago on the net and do not have any way to properly credit.

---------------------------------------------------------

Notes on the Source Material

SBD (ShnID = 3908)
Perfectly balanced and flawless DSBD recording and perfect transfer
by David Gans.

AUD (ShnID = 82801)
Great sounding above average AUD.  Nice balanced sound and a clean
transfer.  Approx 30 seconds missing in Sugaree, Let Mikey Sing and
approx 15 seconds of Drums.

Patch (ShnID = 3325)
Nice sounding FOB that has a few spots that are overloaded.  In the
end I found that using the other AUD source alone in the mix resulted
in a better outcome.  Fortunately this source was able to patch the
cuts found in the primery AUD recording.  Patch was used for the above
AUD source in Sugaree, Let Mikcey Sing and Drums.

---------------------------------------------------------

Tech Notes

FLAC/SHNs were decoded to wave. Wavemerge was used to reassemble the
entire show back to 1 long wave.  CEP2.0 was used to align & synch
all of the sources.  CEP2.0 was used for the multitrack mixdown.
This is a 60%-SBD, 40%-AUD1 mix.
- Mixed by dan@am-dig.com
- FLAC conversion done 24-MAY-2008
- Artwork at 300dpi by dan@am-dig.com
- For best results print at the highest resolution onto glossy
photo paper.  Design for use in a 6CD multi case for both the July
2 and 3 shows.  Also included is artwork for a clear double jewel
case to hold each show individually.

Notes

The entire show is seamless and can be burned to CD with any splits
desired.  Because there is a several second break after "I Will Take
You Home" and before "Drums" I found that to be the best spot as not
to cut any transisitions (like the usual drums > space).  Plus this
leaves us with 3 somewhat equal length CDs.

Most between song tuning/crowd cheer was missing on the SBD source
as well as a few spots on the AUD sources.  As usual, a trememdous
effort was made to have the between song flow sound as smooth and
natural as possible.  Several techniques were used to do this
including volume adjustments, crossfades and borrowing crowd cheers
from other portions of the recording.

Phil Lesh (bass)

COMMENT

An excellent audience recording of the third NewPower Soul Music Festival European show. Whilst these shows are not exactly Prince's finest hour, they do contain enough quality to make them fairly enjoyable. As with the Zaragoza concert (listed HERE), Prince's voice is very hoarse throughout and his falsetto is barely used. Tracks such as 'Let's Work' and 'The One' are either sung in a very low-key, or are half spoken - it can be rather painful to listen to at times. The show itself is also one of the most basic of the entire (short) tour, and you get the impression that Prince really isn't in the mood. The one small glimmer of hope I had comes during the encore section where he cues up the band to play the Santana Medley; only to have serious technical problems with his guitar - thus having to launch straight in to 'Baby I'm A Star'. That's not to say the remainder of the show isn't fairly decent, as it is - it's just very straightforward and unsurprising. As mentioned previously the recording is of very high quality. The audience are very minimal, and the show appears to be complete. The accompanying artwork is stunning (Prince with bat wings!) and contains a report from the show, however the booklet bizarrely states the recording is from Frankfurt on 22nd December - quite a bad mistake for Sabotage to make.

COMMENT

A surprisingly good Newpower Soul Festival concert and an excellent audience recording. The quality of the recording is surprisingly impressive and is certainly amongst the 3 best of the short European December 1998 concerts. The audience level is at an absolute minimum for nearly the entire duration of the show, and the first half of the recording is especially audience-free. The sound is very powerful and contains a certain amount of 'kick' which makes it extremely enjoyable, and I'd have no hesitation in saying this one of the best audience recordings from any of the 1998 shows. The show itself is equally impressive, and whilst it is lacking a piano segment, P adds a few numbers which make this show pretty memorable. The first and most obvious is 'Computer Blue' which takes you completely by surprise and is an absolute joy to listen to. This is the only time it appeared on the tour and is performed rather uniquely. It's a bolt out of the blue, it's an evident crowd pleaser and when it kicks in it is THE highlight of the entire tour. P adds a line from Lenny Kravitz 'Are You Gonna Go My Way?' during the first verse, and as if that weren't special enough it is followed by another rarity in the form of an instrumental 'The Question Of U'. Normal service is resumed with '2001:Also Sprach Zarathustra' before there is a lengthy jam segment which incorporates parts from 'Flashlight' (instrumental), the chorus of 'Joy & Pain' along with instrumental portions of 'Talkin Loud & Sayin Nothing' with added keyboard flashes from P bearing a passing resemblance to  'Hypno Paradise' (the version of Hypno Paradise played here is not the track made available via the NPG Music Club, and although the packaging titles the jam as 'Hypno Paradise', it's stretching the truth a little). The remainder of the show is pretty straightforward and certainly short of anything unusual. Without the addition of both 'Computer Blue' and 'The Question Of U', this would have been a very enjoyable concert with a pretty typical set-list, however the fact these 2 tracks are played makes this one of the best, most unique shows of the tour. Add to that the fact the recording is one of the best for it's time - and you have an excellent release by Sabotage. My one tiny query is that 'Purple Rain' seems to end very abruptly, although whether that's down to an edit on Sabotage's part or not I'm unclear. The accompanying booklet is fairly decent with some quality pictures and a report of the show by someone in attendance.

Notes: These tapes are the masters recorded on a rainy night in the pit.
William Morgan gave his masters to Alf to preserve and now have been archived for all.
The recording is primitive, the mics get knocked around, chaos breaks out, and
there is a lot of request given from close range. If you’ve never been to
Green Acres you’ll feel it now. As BĂ©la says, the place has a "Yee-Ha Factor" of 11.

The Rolling Stones1975-06-08 County Stadium, Milwaukee, WI

Hi Stones fanatics,
here it is, Acid Project Vol 16. Erik Snow was the one who initiated the work on this one. It`s a great gig and it was not so very good audience recording. Now it does sound much better. But be warned, it is still the rough one !!!
I did the usual stuff : Phase, pitch and level correction and than EQ.
Mr. D made another great artwork, using the photographs from the Milwaukee gig.

Enjoy

ORIGINAL INFO FILES :

THE ROLLING STONES - MILWAUKEE 1975
(2CDR taken from DIME torrent in 2006)

LINEAGE:
DIME torrent -> CDR (using Nero7) -> WAV (EAC v0.99 prebeta 5 - secure, Offset "actual" ) -> FLAC (flacfrontend, level 6) -> You

QUALITY:
Good Audience (dirty and rough sounding......beware!)

COMMENTS:
Fantastic performance! One of the best performances of 1975 - they're on fire here
And as Jagger is singing really different than he did later in the tour, this is one is quite special !

Unfortunately the soundquality ain't the best. It's not "distant", but it's "overloaded". It will hurt your ears if you listen to this without doing some EQing. But if you CAN get into the show, dispite the quality (like I can), you're in for a treat.....because of the performance. I really dig this one. But again.....not for beginners.

I downloaded this from DIME in 2006. I can not remember the name of the original uploader, I'm sorry. It was not Silkcut1978 though.
Usually I don't upload "CDR" copies of DIME torrents, but I do, in this case.
It's taken from a different tape transfer than the most recent DIME torrent of Milwaukee 1975 (sounds different)

ARTWORK:
I made artwork for my own CDRs back in 2006. Did some slight changes to them now, and included them in the torrent.

Enjoy...Erik_snow

6. Dancing Days
7. Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp

Disc 2:

2. Whole Lotta Love
3. Heartbreaker
Running Time: 42'59"

Notes:
This TDOLZ release contains the audience recording of this concert.
It is much more complete than the soundboard portion that is also in
circulation.
There is some confusion about the last encore ('Immigrant Song')
which is missing here. But as it seems, those versions that are
including it, add it from another source. They either include this
song from the soundboard recording or (even worse) from another show.
The sound quality makes this one something for the completists only.

Different, vastly better source than the other recording of this show, without the distortion on loud transients. A good performance, also featuring the Impressions - this was their last appearance on the 2001 tour.

1.  Larry King Live 3-96

James comes on via satellite for this interview,
which may be the worst Larry King interview I've
ever had to sit through.

Larry and James hit it off, and cover a range of
topics. James' wife Adrienne's tragic death from
complications related to botched plastic surgery,
alleged spousal abuse, his love and faith in God
(and Larry).  Even when Larry steps on James' words
and cuts him off in mid-sentence, it doesn't really
matter, because James loves Larry.

Notes:  I had a GA field ticket but didn't stay there.  I got in during Lainey Wilson's opening
set and saw how bad the view was from there.  I was going to be mostly looking at people's heads
and struggling to see the band.  I bailed on that and went to the upper deck and recorded from
section 304 which is in the top level on Keith's side but closest to the stage and PA.  I had plenty of
open seats around me, and the sound was excellent.  I loved the show and was glad that "Sweet Sounds
of Heaven" is back in the setlist.  Enjoy!
