Notes (from r_benavides):
This is from an original copy of the radio show. It has not been altered. It includes national commercials and the songs are
grouped as they were in the broadcast. Nothing has been changed. I own hundreds of original radio shows which I am posting. I know
there will be people who want them with the commercials edited out and the songs indexed. Could I do that for any certain one?
Yes. Could I do that for hundreds? No. Also, I wanted to present them in their original format. You are welcome to edit it however
you wish. I have included a copy of the original cue sheets. The info I am giving was either on the cues or on the discs
themselves, but I have not verified it to be correct. It would not surprise me if it is not. Unlike what I have done with posts at
other sites I will only be posting these once. Once they are upped I will be deleting the files. This particular one says it was
recorded in Los Angeles in 1982 and Fresno, Ca. in 1987.

Originally shared by r_benavides on May 29, 2010

Additional Notes:
As with pretty much every one of these Westwood One superstar concert series pre-FM releases, this sounds incredible. The original
broadcast was composed of songs from October 21-22, 1982 in Los Angeles and December 10, 1987 in Fresno, California. The 1982 Los
Angeles show has been officially released. Because the official release/Westwood One broadcast are compilations of two shows from
October 21-22, I guess it is theoretically possible that the songs from the Westwood One broadcast are from a different show than
the official release but I haven't checked. The 1982 Los Angeles songs are not included here.

I tracked the original audio from the 1987 Fresno, California portion of the Westwood One broadcast in Audacity. Absolutely no
changes, meaning that the commercials have been kept here. I cleaned up the SBE with TLH and created a checksum.

Notes:
Darrell F.'s 1st gen cassettes made from Howie's master reels. Unfortunately the reels are no longer with us so these are the best copies left of Howie's recordings. This particular recording along with many other Eagles Auditorium shows broadcast on KOL-FM if circulating from Bill B.'s reels will definately either be sourced from Howie's masters or Darrell's 1st gens so these may or may not be an upgrade to existing Eagles broadcasts from this time period if can be traced back to Bill. The recording may switch from stereo to mono periodically since reception wasn't the greatest from where Howie lived at this time which was in the extreme southwest of Seattle over a hill. Through the years people have questioned whether these recordings are truely soundboard or audience recordings and the answer is they are a hybrid of both. The recording sounds great but this is bittersweet moment in the band's history since it was at this point Peter Green's eccentricities were taking over which would lead to him leaving band only 4 months later.

Here is some more background info on these recordings from Pat L.
"All were broadcast on KOL-FM on their program called "Great Nights at Eagles". It ran on Sunday evenings and the host was a UW professor named John Chamblis. He borrowed the reels (or had copies) from Mike Reed who had recorded them and was selling copies at the time and was hoping these KOL broadcasts would generate some interest in his venture.

The tapes were recorded on a reel at the soundboard. The input was two microphones hung over the stage, which accounts for the somewhat funky sound--not quite soundboard, but not quite audience."

The 5th show of Stevie's 6 night run at the Fox Thater and the 2nd to last show of the very short (10 show) White Winged Dove Tour.  The show contains Blue lamp (from the Heavy Metal soundtrack) that she only performed on this tour.

Pretty good sound considering ... it's almost 30 years old after all.  Sara is incomplete as is Rhiannon due to tape flips.

Notes:
This is a soundboard recording, but it is definitely not professionally mixed. It is clear but also
pretty raw sounding as is typical for soundboards. There are audience noises in the mix, but they
are in the background. Songbird has some tape rustling noises throughout, but they're not too bad.

I see a version of this recording that was seeded by keysjf on dime on July 25, 2006, but it was
banned because it had lossy lineage. This version is actually lossless. I don't see any records of
this version in dime's or TTD's history, so I don't know who deserves credit for first circulating
this and ripping the CDs, but it wasn't me. I added this "INFO - 2024 edit.txt" to give some more
context here. The original "INFO.txt" is also retained.
