Mick Taylor 1993-07-02 Toad's Place New Haven,CT(Vol.12)

2nd July 1993: New Haven, Connecticut, Toad's Place
Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Jimmie Wood (voc, harm, gtr)/Jimmy King (gtr, bvoc)/Greg Boaz (bass, bvoc)/George Kelly (dr)

Unfortunately, I couldn't find my recording of this show (titled ‘Ride With Me In New Haven’), only the covers! So we only have the recording provided by nzb. And since we also couldn't find the July 10th recording in Baltimore, this is the last recording of this series.

CD1:
01 - intro
02 - Ride With Me
03 - Badmouth Mama
04 - Hoodoo Thing
05 - How It Feels
06 - Ice Pick’s Confession
07 - Fed Up With The Blues-You Shook Me

CD2:
01 - Kind Hearted Woman Blues (Jimmie Wood solo)
restored from 4’51 onwards
02 - My Little Machine (MT joining mid-song)
03 - Stop Breakin’ Down Blues
04 - Blues In The Morning
05 - Cairo Motel
Note a gap before the last track (encore break)
06 - You Don’t Miss Your Water

As usual the recording is declicked, the channels equilibrated (+10% for the left channel) and slightly amplified.
From the second half of ‘Kind Hearted Woman Blues’ ‘up to ‘Blues In The Morning’ the right channel was very low and altered. So I used the left channel (duplicated) to compensate for this problem.
Comparing this recording with the previous shows demonstrate that it had to be decelerated by -2%.

Mick Taylor 1993-06-30 The Dell Columbus, OH(Vol.11)

 CD1:
Part I: The Radio Session
30th June 1993: US radio (WCBE-FM), Columbus. interview with MT and Jimmie Wood
Host: John Peterson
Line-up: MT (gtr)/Jimmie Wood (gtr, voc, harm)
We have different versions but only the one coming from nzb was lossless. I chose not to use filters to maintain the sound quality and I kept short discussion parts to introduce or conclude the songs.
01 - Long Distance Call
02 - short discussion with band presentation and tuning
02 - Stop Breaking Down Blues
04 - My Little Machine

Part II: The Live Show
30th June 19993: Columbus, Ohio, The Dell
Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Jimmie Wood (voc, harm, gtr)/Jimmy King (gtr, bvoc)/Greg Boaz (bass, bvoc)/George Kelly (dr)
We have 2 versions:
Nzb’s version (I call it source #1) is more complete but with some gaps and it’s altered in the first track.
My version (I call it source #2) is not altered in the beginning but is missing the first seconds and  ‘You Shook Me’ completely.
Comparing both versions with the previous show demonstrate that source #2 was at the good speed when source #1 has to be decelerated by -2%.
I decided to use both versions to get the most complete recording: as usual the recordings are declicked and balanced.

05 - intro (first #1, then #2)
the 8 first seconds are from source #1, the rest is from source # 2
06 - Ride With Me (first #2, then #1)
until 1’20 is source #2 but all the rest is source #1.
07 - Badmouth Mama (#1)
from source #1
08 - Hoodoo Thing (#2)
from source #2 with a 2 second patch from source #1 at 3’41
Note that source #1 has also a gap and 43 seconds were lost
09 - How It Feels (#1)
there was a gap in the start on source # 2
10 - You Shook Me (#1)
(missing from source #2) in two parts reconnected on source #1 (note channel variations at the end of the song).

CD2:
01 - Stop Breaking Down Blues (#1)
note: source #2 misses the beginning
02 - Blues In The Morning (#1)
note: source #2 misses the end
03 - Ice Pick’s Confession (#1 then #2)
source #1 is saturated but includes the 53 first seconds (banter)
04 - Cairo Motel (#2)
source #1 is saturated
05 - You Gotta Move (#2)
source #1 is saturated
06 - You Don't Miss Your Water (#2)
source #1 is saturated and miss the end
07 - band intro (#2)
missing on source #1
note a gap during the encore break
08 - Talk To Your Daughter (#2)

It seemed a little complicated but both recordings completed each other very well and the result is nice.

Mick Taylor 1993-06-19 R.I.B.C.O. Bar Rock Island, IL(Vol.10)

19th June 1993: Rock Island, Illinois, R.I.B.C.O. Bar
Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Jimmie Wood (voc, harm, gtr)/Jimmy King (gtr, bvoc)/Greg Boaz (bass, bvoc)/George Kelly (dr)

01 - tuning
only the last 9 seconds are merged the rest is solely coming from the video
02 - Ride With Me
03 - Badmouth Mama
04 - Hoodoo Thing
at 2’06 I used a 0,5 second patch to compensate the gap between the VOB files
05 - How It Feels
06 - Shake Your Hips
from 10’27 until 10’44 it’s solely coming from the video
07 - You Shook Me
at 1’01, I used a 0,5 second patch to compensate the gap between the VOB files

For this show we have a video and an audio: both come from nzb and have not widely circulated.
The sound was average and contained many clicks that BT2G helped me to reduce. Although the audio comes from the video, a merge of the two turned out to be interesting: it is this version that you will find here and that BT2G will use in the reworked video (that he will present in parallel).
The audio version had to be slowed down by -0.7% to more than -2% to be synchronized with the video.
One of the 2 versions (or both?) has speed variations, so the sound is not very centered and therefore wanders a little from one channel to another.
Note: At the end of the video, we can see Jimmie Wood taking his guitar certainly to perform solo. Sadly, the end of the show was not recorded.

Mick Taylor 1993-05-21 Bojangles Portland, OR(Vol.9)

21st May 1993: Portland, Oregon, Bojangles
Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Jimmie Wood (voc, harm, gtr)/Jimmy King (gtr, bvoc)/Greg Boaz (bass, bvoc)/George Kelly (dr)
Note: With special guest Chris Mercer (sax) on 'You Shook Me'.

CD1:
01 - tuning & intro
02 - Ride With Me
03 - Hoodoo Thing
04 - How It Feels
05 - Badmouth Mama
06 - I Want To Get Married
Note, at 6’, a fade in/out due to a tape flip (some seconds are lost)
07 - band introduction #1
08 - My Little Machine

CD2:
01 - You Shook Me
02 - Big Town Playboy
03 - Cairo Motel
The track was cut in 2 parts, it’s now reconnected at 9’42
04 - band introduction #2
05 - Teresa
The track was cut in 2 parts, it’s now reconnected at 2’24 but some seconds are lost
06 - encore break
07 - You Don’t Miss Your Water

Our versions of this show were identical: a good recording, but (what a pity!) it’s saturated and there's nothing I can do about it.
As usual I declicked the recording and tried to upgrade some gaps.

Mick Taylor 1992-09-19 11th Annual Adams Avenue Street Fair San Diego, CA(Vol.8B)

19th September 1992: San Diego, California, ‘11th Annual Adams Avenue Street Fair
And Free Fall Festival’
Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Jimmie Wood (voc, harm, gtr)/Jimmy King (gtr, bvoc)/Greg Boaz (bass, bvoc)/David Salinas (dr)

This show appears in different audio and versions and also on 3 videos.
For the audio, some versions are lossless, others lossy, some are in stereo and others in mono, some complete and others not…
My favorite versions are the ones uploaded by:
- ‘Kingrue’ at The Traders Den in 2019: I call it “source #2”
- ‘hankhill’ at Dimeadozen in 2008: I call it “source #3”
(see the original infos in the ‘docs’ file)

These recordings are incomplete: the start of “Shake Your Hips” and the end of the show are missing.
“Source #1” comes from a complete video of the show. It’s sometimes claimed to be a soundboard… but isn’t: it’s a good lossless monophonic audience.
“Source #4” corresponds to another mono version from an incomplete video and which is not so interesting.

I propose to upload 2 versions:
Vol 08a will be a mixed version to get the more complete recording with the best quality
Vol 08b will be a merged version to get a better sound. This is the version which BlueTurns2Grey will use for a video that he will upload simultaneously.

VOLUME 08b:
This version really deserves the title of Frankenstein: sources 2 & 3 were merged then mixed with source #1.
All sources were reworked as usual and source #2 is decelerated by -1%.
Because it remains space on the CD2, I added, as bonus, a few tracks in mixed version which are also of interest, especially for appreciating the bass.

CD1 :
01 - tuning & intro
solely source #3 until 3’03 then merged
02 - Badmouth Mama
merged except from 2’55 to 3’18 where only sources #1 & #2 are used.
03 - Hoodoo Thing
merged except from 7’13 to 7’16 where only sources #1 & #2 are used.
04 - How It Feels
merged
05 - You Shook Me
merged and mixed except for the last 10 seconds which are solely a merge between source #1 & #3.
06 - Shake Your Hips
merged and mixed except the first second coming solely from source #1
07 - You Don’t Miss Your Water
merged except the first 25 seconds coming solely from source 2

CD2:
01 - You Gotta Move
merged
02 - band introduction #1
merged
03 - Cairo Motel
merged
04 - encore break & band intro #2
the first 29seconds are merged but the rest is solely coming from source #1
05 - Teresa
coming solely from the source 1
BONUS
06 - Badmouth Mama
the 3 sources are mixed together
07 - Hoodoo Thing
the 3 sources are mixed together
08 - You Shook Me
the 3 sources are mixed together
09 - Shake Your Hips
the 3 sources are mixed together

Mick Taylor 1992-09-19 11th Annual Adams Avenue Street Fair San Diego, CA(Vol.8A)

9th September 1992: San Diego, California, ‘11th Annual Adams Avenue Street Fair
And Free Fall Festival’
Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Jimmie Wood (voc, harm, gtr)/Jimmy King (gtr, bvoc)/Greg Boaz (bass, bvoc)/David Salinas (dr)

This show appears in different audio and versions and also on 2 videos.
It’s sometimes claimed to be a soundboard… but isn’t: it’s a good lossless monophonic audience recording.
“Source #4” corresponds to another mono version from an incomplete video and which is not so interesting.

I plan to upload 2 versions:
Vol 08a will be a mixed version to get the more complete recording with the best quality.
Vol 08b will be a merged version to get a better sound. This is the version which BlueTurns2Grey will use for a video that he will upload simultaneously.

VOLUME 08a:
This version combines different sources to get a most complete recording.
The best one is “source #3”: it’s now declicked and amplified. After track 5, the channels had to be re-equilibrated (+20% for the left channel).
For the complement I used “source #1” but not from my video copy (which is lossy) but from cd-rs (illustrated by my friend Mr No., cf. the docs file) which have a better spectrum. Unfortunately, in all versions, the intensity of the sound varies constantly and the result is unpleasant.

CD1:
01 - tuning & intro
02 - Badmouth Mama
03 - Hoodoo Thing
04 - How It Feels
05 - You Shook Me
the last 12 seconds are from the source #1

CD1:
01 - Shake Your Hips
the first 7 seconds are from the source #1
02 - You Don’t Miss Your Water
03 - You Gotta Move
04 - band introduction #1
05 - Cairo Motel
06 - band introduction #2 & encore break
the last 49 seconds are from the source #1
07 - Teresa
from the source #1
 08 - outro
from the source #1

Mick Taylor 1992-05-22 El Mocambo Tavern Toronto, Canada(Vol.7)

22nd May 1992: Toronto, Canada, El Mocambo Tavern
Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Jimmie Wood (voc, harm, gtr)/Jimmy King (gtr, bvoc)/Greg Boaz (bass, bvoc)/David Salinas (dr)

CD1:
01 - intro
02 - Badmouth Mama (partial)
cut at 1’54
03 - Hoodoo Thing
04 - How It Feels
05 - Shake Your Hips
06 - Bloody Tears

CD2:
01 - You Shook Me (faded in)
the beginning is missed
02 - You Don’t Miss Your Water
03 - band introduction
04 - My Little Machine (Jimmie Wood solo)
05 - Promised Land
06 - Cairo Motel
note a fade out in the encore break
07 - Teresa
08 - Kid Man Blues

This recording is provided by nzb and has not been widely circulated.
By comparing it to previous shows, I decelerated this by 1,5%.
There are stereo sync and volume issues with the first 4 tracks of the recording, resulting in an off-center sound.
So, I rebalanced both channels (+20% volume for the left channel) and refocused the sound (by correcting about 1ms of delay on the right channel).
From ‘Shake Your Hips’ onward, the right channel remains saturated, but without the stereo sync issue.
The beginning of ‘You Shook Me’ is missing (tape flip?), so I separated the cd-rs there.
The beginning of ‘Teresa’ is distorted until 1’45 (only the left channel was present and with a poor sound) so I amplified and duplicated it.

Mick Taylor 1992-05-20 Cambridge, MA(Vol.6)

20th May 1992: Cambridge, Massachusetts, (1st show)
Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Jimmie Wood (voc, harm, gtr)/Jimmy King (gtr, bvoc)/Greg Boaz (bass, bvoc)/David Salinas (dr)

01 - tuning and intro
02 - Badmouth Mama
03 - Hoodoo Thing
04 - How It Feels
05 - Shake Your Hips
06 - You Gotta Move
a short fade in/out before the next track (tape flip)
07 - Kind Hearted Woman Blues/Me And The Devil Blues
08 - Promised Land
09 - band introduction (and break announcement)
10 - You Don’t Miss Your Water

This recording was provided by nzb and has not been widely circulated. Unfortunately the second set was not recorded (or shared).
The sound is average, often saturated, but Mick Taylor’s guitar is very in front.
A comparison with the previous recordings shows that this recording had to be decelerated by -2,5%.
For the 5 first tracks (first side of the tape?), the right channel was more saturated and ahead of the other (hence an off-center sound). Fortunately, it was a mono recording and I was therefore able to improve it by keeping only the least altered channel and duplicating it.
The recording is also declicked now and the transitions between the tracks reworked.

Mick Taylor 1992-05-17 Campus Club Providence, RI(Vol.5B)

17th May 1992: Providence, Rhode Island, Campus Club
Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Jimmie Wood (voc, harm, gtr)/Jimmy King (gtr, bvoc)/Greg Boaz (bass, bvoc)/David Salinas (dr)

For this show we have 2 sources:
The commonly circulating version comes from a video and was very hissy and saturated. I gladly did a new rip from it and came up with a very good result (I call it source #1).
Source #2 has a good sound but it’s lossy (very compressed), it’s coming from my collection but I don’t know the lineage.
We have decided to offer 2 versions:
Vol 05a corresponds to a mix from both sources to get the most complete recording (using in priority the reworked source #1).
Vol 05b corresponds to a merge from both sources to have a more spacious sound. This is the version which BlueTurns2Grey will use for a video that he will upload simultaneously.

. VOLUME 05b
(merges of 2 sources)

Source #2 had to be decelerated by -5,6% to be in synch with the video soundtrack. In this source the banter between the songs was edited, so only the songs could be merged.

CD1:
01 - tuning & intro
only the last 6 seconds are merged, the rest is coming solely from the video.
02 - Badmouth Mama
merged with exception of the last 35 seconds, which are coming solely from the video
03 - Hoodoo Thing
merged with exception of the last 5 seconds, which are coming solely from the video
04 - How It Feels
merged with exception of the last 15 seconds, which are coming solely from the video
05 - Shake Your Hips
merged with exception of the last 15 seconds, which are coming solely from the video
06 - You Gotta Move
merged with exception of the last 35 seconds, which are coming solely from the video

CD2:
Catfish Blues (Jimmie Wood solo song)
missing on the video
01 - Promised Land
merged with exception of the first 17 seconds and the last 20 seconds, which are coming solely from the video
02 - Big Town Playboy
merged with exception of the last 10 seconds, which are coming solely from the video
03 - Cairo Motel
merged with exception of the last 41 seconds coming solely from the video
04 - band introduction and break
coming solely from the video
05 - Teresa
merged
06 - outro
coming solely from the video

VOLUME 05a

Mick Taylor 1992-05-16 El 'n' Gee Club New London, CT(Vol.4)

16th May 1992: New London, Connecticut, El 'n' Gee Club
Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Jimmie Wood (voc, harm, gtr)/Jimmy King (gtr, bvoc)/Greg Boaz (bass, bvoc)/David Salinas (dr)

CD1:
01 - intro
The first 31 seconds are from the video soundtrack.
02 - Badmouth Mama
03 - Hoodoo Thing
04 - How It Feels
05 - Shake Your Hips
06 - You Gotta Move

CD2:
01 - My Little Machine (Jimmie Wood solo song)
The first 41 seconds are from the video soundtrack.
02 - Kind Hearted Woman Blues-Me And The Devil Blues
It’s cut brutally in the video
03 - Promised Land
04 - Big Town Playboy
05 - Cairo Motel
06 - band introduction
07 - Teresa (incomplete)

For this show we have:
1. A incomplete video (basically the first part of the concert) but with a dreadful sound (the intensity of the sound varies constantly and the result is highly unpleasant).
2. An almost complete audio version with good sound (only the end of ‘Teresa’ is missing).
This is the version that you will find here and which BlueTurns2Grey will use for a video that he will upload simultaneously.

Mick Taylor 1992-05-15 The Cabaret Ambler, PA(Vol.3C)

15th May 1992: Ambler, Pennsylvania, The Cabaret
Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Jimmie Wood (voc, harm, gtr)/Jimmy King (gtr, bvoc)/Greg Boaz (bass, bvoc)/David Salinas (dr)

CD1:
01 - intro & tuning
coming solely from source #2
02 - Badmouth Mama
merged
03 - Hoodoo Thing
merged
04 - How It Feels
merged
05 - Shake Your Hips
merged
06 - That's Alright
There’s a big gap in the version #1 (around 2’28 was missing!) so from 2’10 until 4’38, the music comes solely from source #2 and the last 5 seconds are solely from source #1.

CD2:
07 - You Gotta Move
merged except for the first 10 seconds which come solely from source #2.
There’s a big gap in the version #1, the end of this track and a part of the banter were missing (around 4’29). So, from 6’40 to the end, the recording comes solely from source #2.
08 - I’m Leaving You
merged
09 - You Don't Miss Your Water
merged except for the last 25 seconds which are coming solely from source #1
10 - Cairo Motel
merged
11 - Teresa (incomplete)
coming solely from source #1

We only had an average quality version until a version with a much better sound was posted on ‘LestatKatt’s Channel’. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvdqXx-vgZU
Here you will find a mix (to get the most complete recording) and a merge (to get a more spacy sound) from the 2 existing sources.
For the merges I took by reference the new recording (left channel) when the old version is on the right channel.
The old version ran way too quick and had to be decelerated by -4,5%.

Mick Taylor 1992-05-15 The Cabaret Ambler, PA(Vol.3B)

Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Jimmie Wood (voc, harm, gtr)/Jimmy King (gtr, bvoc)/Greg Boaz (bass, bvoc)/David Salinas (dr)

Until recently we only had a limited and incomplete recording of average sound quality for this show : 3 tracks were incomplete, but the recording was lossless (source #1).
A much better sound quality recording (source #2) has been posted on ‘LestatKatt’s Channel’: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvdqXx-vgZU
Unfortunately, this alternative recording is lossy.
So we have decided to offer 3 versions:
Vol 03a corresponds to the 1st reworked source
Vol 03b corresponds to the 2nd reworked source
Vol 03c will be a Frankenstein version that will mix the 2 sources to have the most complete recording and that will merge them to have a more spacious sound.

VOLUME 03b

Here you will find the second source. There were defects due in particular to noise on the microphone but they have been removed or improved. As usual the recording has been declicked.
The encore (‘Teresa’) is missing in this version.

CD1:
01 - intro
02 - Badmouth Mama
03 - Hoodoo Thing
04 - How It Feels
05 - Shake Your Hips
06 - That's Alright

CD2:
01 - You Gotta Move
02 - I’m Leaving You
03 - You Don't Miss Your Water

Vol 03c will be a Frankenstein version that will mix the 2 sources to have the most complete recording and that will merge them to have a more spacious sound.

VOLUME 03a
Here you will find the 1st source: it comes from nzb and has not been circulated widely before.
This version ran way too fast and had to be decelerated by -4,5%.
The right channel is unbalanced and is often saturated unlike the left one which is recorded less loudly (but is still sometimes saturated). In addition this channel is ahead to the right (the sound is off-center to the left). The signal is identical on both channels (monophonic recording), so the solution was to keep only the left channel and duplicate it.
Here 3 songs are incomplete but it’s the only lossless source.

CD1:
01 - intro
02 - Badmouth Mama
03 - Hoodoo Thing
04 - How It Feels
05 - Shake Your Hips
06 - That's Alright
incomplete: at 2’10 there’s a long gap: 2’28 are missing

CD2:
01 - You Gotta Move
incomplete: cut at 6’20, around 4’20 are missing
02 - I’m Leaving You
03 - You Don't Miss Your Water
04 - Cairo Motel
05 - Teresa
incomplete: cut at 4’16

Mick Taylor 1992-05-14 Lone Star Roadhouse New York City, NY(Vol.2)

14th May 1992: New York City, Lone Star Roadhouse (1st & 2nd show)
Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Jimmie Wood (voc, harm, gtr)/Jimmy King (gtr, bvoc)/Greg Boaz (bass, bvoc)/David Salinas (dr)
Note: A private video of these shows exists.

For this show we have already presented the Maidenlane recordings:

- ALT 22 & FP 22 for the 1st show

- ALT 23 for the 2nd show.

It would not make sense to repeat them here.

On the other hand, there are video recordings that BT2G will be able to present on its side.

So we made a merge of the soundtrack of the videos and the Maidenlane recordings by synchronizing them to use them with the videos. The synchronization was made difficult due to the many micro speed variations in the video recording: but I did my best.

For this volume, the two sets are combined:

1st show: (left = video & right = MDL decelerated by -1,6%)

2nd show: (left = video & right = MDL decelerated by -1%)

CD1: (1st show)
01 - intro & tuning
merged except the first minute coming solely from the video
02 - Badmouth Mama
03 - Hoodoo Thing
04 - How It Feels
05 - You Gotta Move

This series begins with a recording that has not been widely circulated and that nzb provided. The quality was very average because one of the 2 channels was saturated and ahead of the other (hence an off-center sound). Fortunately, it was a mono recording and I was therefore able to improve it by keeping only the least altered channel and duplicating it.
