This is rock and roll - fast, hard, loud and more loud. This is one of four times I saw and recorded The Repacements. Each time was great. Unfortunately, there were two your girls close to me who screamed "Tommy" all night. It's very noticable in the recording. The best spot to split this into two discs is after track 13. Enjoy the 'Mats!

I have been recording shows since the mid 1980's. Many of these shows were traded and widely circulated on cassette tape back in the day. This effort is to create a fresh transfer of my master recordings from the original media and provide an unaltered version (except volume boost if needed and/or fade) of these shows. I will include as much information about the equipment used to create the recording, as well as the process and tools used for the transfer as I can. Enjoy!

Taper's notes:

1) Quite obviously, these files should be traded freely and never for profit. Remember to support the artists!

2) It is likely that several sources of this show will emerge. For ease of convenience, please refer to this as the "MFS source".

3) Minor imperfections: there's a bit of chatter beside me during the start of "Kiss Me on The Bus". Someone to my R sings along to the first verse of "Androgynous". There's some clapping along around me during "Left of the Dial".  None of these are particularly egregious.

08 Dyslexic Heart
09 Silver Naked Ladies

Westerberg collectors probably know this show from the bootleg Lucky's Revenge. My master is a different source (at least I think it is; the boot claimed to be a soundboard and I never had a copy), and, happily, unlike the boot it captures is the complete show, including the terrific six-song encore. This was the second night of a two-show stand that marked Westerberg's solo debut in Los Angeles and I enjoyed the hell out of both sets. He's playing with a purpose here. Perhaps you'll agree after you hear it.

To fill out the second disc a bit I've added three bonus tracks from Seattle a few days earlier, all variants from the Whisky set and of comparable quality.
