Notes: I had to share this Ð itÕs fabulous. From a tape recorded by Dan Lampinski
and recently shared at Dime by Carl Morstadt Ð I just made it run at the right
speed as it was too fast. Download this, I guarantee youÕll love it - unless you hate
Queen, in which case, why are you reading this? The sound quality is
phenomenal for a 1976 audience recording Ð rich bass, clear treble, stereo
separation and all Ð and itÕs a heck of a gig. EverybodyÕs on top of their game. I
made some artwork as well.

Dan Lampinski recorded over 100 concerts in the Providence/Boston area, mostly between 1974 and 1978.  His earliest recordings were made with an internal microphone deck, and though they are somewhat lo-fi compared to his later work, some very great moments in rock history were captured for posterity.  In late 1974 he bought a Sony TC-152SD tape recorder, a Sony ECM-99 stereo microphone, and began using Maxell cassettes.  He was also fortunate enough to have a friend who provided excellent taping seats for many shows, resulting in high quality recordings.  In 1977, he switched over to a Nakamichi 550 tape recorder, two Nakamichi CM-300 microphones, and continued using Maxell cassettes.

He recorded many of the major 70's bands:  Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult, Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull, ELP, Kiss, Black Sabbath, The Who, Al Stewart, Alice Cooper, Jeff Beck, Bruce Springsteen, Supertramp, Jean-Luc Ponty, Moody Blues, Neil Young, The Faces, Rush, Rick Wakeman, Kansas, as well as several "under the radar" acts.

Since Dan never traded copies of his recordings, they are all essentially uncirculated.  Some copies were made for friends, but these releases are the first time most of these recordings have ever seen the light of day, and are direct from his master cassettes.  No EQ'ing has been done to any of the transfers.  Feel free to EQ, matrix, patch, etc and re-post if you like, just give Dan credit for the original recording.

Dan was very meticulous about taking good care of his tapes and is very pleased that these recordings will now circulate among the trading community.  Please honour his kindness and generosity by sharing these recordings freely.

TheCommish notes:  Grabbed this back in Sept. 2011 over at The Traders Den when it was shared there by victhedog.  Nice FM broadcast of Henry Lee, who was supposed the be the next John Mellencamp back in the day before he ran into drug problems.  Loved watching his funny video for "I Wish I Had A Girl" back when MTV actually played videos.

I actually saw Henry Lee play at The Stone Pony around 1989-1990 where he had The Rainmakers open up for him.  Back then, Henry Lee actually had some decent buzz.

For this torrent, I didn't alter any of the original FLAC files but I did rename them with the correct song titles and I'm providing this new text file to also reflect the correct song titles.  Enjoy!

If you’re already a fan you don’t need an introduction. Béla is a master of musical eclecticism. He plays everything from blue grass to be bop, traditional African music to rock. He even won a Grammy for Best Classical Crossover album in 2001. Oh - and if you’re wondering about Béla’s name, the answer is yes: he was named after the famous Hungarian composer Béla Bartók.

Béla joined forces with his Flecktones in 1988. There’s even a Canadian connection to their beginning since he met pianist and harmonica player Howard Levy at the Winnipeg Folk Festival. After hearing Victor Lemonte Wooten play some bass licks over the phone Béla recruited him. Victor’s brother Roy Wooten, otherwise known as “Futureman”, rounded out the quartet on percussion.

This summer these four masterful musicians reconvened for a reunion tour. CBC Radio Two's 'Canada Live' team caught up with the band at Bessborough Garde ns in Saskatoon where they were headline performers at the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival.
