Show #15.

An incomplete Rock Solid AUDIENCE recording was issued as 2 bootlegs.
Deranged Pigs (Hurricane-021) and You Can't Stop Us (YCSU-436)

What is missing is the sequence of:
Hallo Spaceboy
Hurt
Look Back In Anger
I'm Deranged
essentially only the very beginning of David's set

There are 2 other traded sources, but they aren’t as clear as these, and ALL the traded sources use the same source for the beginning of the show. Listen to the velcro-like sound 2.5 mins into subterraneans when the sax comes in.
The sound quality drops dramatically in Hallo Spaceboy, but its still pretty solidly stereo. At the bedinning of “I’m Deranged,” David says “Allo Grass People,” as a shoutout to those on the lawn. How much of this you can hear or if its included at all will tell you which of the other 2 source tapes you have.

So!

Lineage here:
Factory Pressed Discs > xACT (secure extraction) + Cassettes > wav files (Steveboy)
Sound Studio (checking files, retracking, balancing levels, crossfading sources, track split) > xACT (Flac level5)

And here you have the whole evening minus the Prick set.

TW Comments:
This was a pretty strange concert. NIN was good enough. There was some mosh pit activity, but it was way tamer than I thought it would be. Security was very very tight. I usually succeed at getting up front in concerts. But they were naziesque security guards that wouldnt let you out of your seat everywhere. I couldnt get up front at all. Even the mosh pit area was very docile. Back where I was in was a freaking mausoleum. And I wasnt that far back. I expected a NIN concert to be a lot more exciting. People are so conservative in the South. It was exciting how they led into Bowie, with Bowie and NIN together. That was really cool. Bowie's setlist was mostly from Outside. It wasnt terribly well received by the audience and most people left after NIN got off the stage. I felt embarassed for Bowie. His outside music was for a more mature audience than the NIN fans I guess. The only hits he played were scary monsters and under pressure; thats fine with me because i like his more obscure music best: but i dont think it sat too well the majority. the songs i liked best were: subterraneans, oxford town, breaking glass, im deranged. i think alot of people left during im deranged. it was too free form and interpretive for the people who just wanted to get their heads blown off by loud beats. I love getting my head blown off by loud beats, dont get me wrong. but i always like the cerebral stuff. i think what ruined this concert was the uptight venue. i couldnt beleive that if you really wanted to go belly-stage you could not, even if there was plenty of room further up you couldnt leave your area. the security was too strict. maybe they thought since it was nin people would be going wild. but it was just the opposite. this was one of the most unenthusiastic crowds ive seen. Bowies performance was fine, and i loved his draping indian clothes. very feminine and pretty and exotic. the setlist was varied, totally non-commercial and well played.

I was living in ATL @ the time. A friend of mine who drives a limo called me that night at 7:00pm and said he was driving a bunch of big wigs from Virgin around. They asked if he wanted some backstage passes. He gave me a call and picked me up in the limo. The backstage pass let me go everywhere but the artist's dressing rooms. I walked down to the front row and checked out the show. I'm a Bowie fan, but not really a "hard-core" fan, so I didn't know many of the songs. The show was cool enough and I saw Trent walking backstage. Never saw Bowie. I still have the backstage pass on the fridge. Same thing happen two weeks later with REM. Cool show.

db etree comments on the NIN set:
"Includes some songs not played on previous tours such as The Becoming, the new version of Sanctified (pianos instead of bass guitar), the Rick Rubin remix of Piggy, the vocal-flanged-modified version of Gave Up, and the instrumental version of Eraser ('Version With Worms' remix?) Track four has a new quick drum introduction to the new version of Sanctified. The intro to Scary Monsters is a slow instrumental that plays like A Warm Place until Trent begins playing the saxaphone and David Bowie starts speaking overtop of the music. Then loud drums begin playing and improvised guitars kick in for a few seconds starting Scary Monsters."
