Peter Holsapple, Chris Stamey, & Don Dixon
Gas Hill Drinking Room
Winston Salem, NC
2023-03-31 Late Show
I got the chance to see Peter Holsapple, Chris Stamey and Don Dixon at a local bar adjacent to the Ramkat music venue here in Winston Salem, NC. Of course, Peter and Chris are founding members of the dB's, and Peter has played and toured with the likes of R.E.M. and Hootie and the Blowfish. Don Dixon is a legend himself as a producer, songwriter, and musician who was also influential with newcomers R.E.M. and the Smithereens back in the day.
They played an earlier set this evening which I didn't get to record. This is the late show. The capture is pretty good but being a bar environment close to the street you can hear the occasional car go by as well as creaking bar stools and audience chatter. None of it is too distracting and makes for a good listen. Enjoy.
