notes:
-I finally got a set of excellent recording results from my new TASCAM. Unfortunately, it was only one set, as the first set was a complete failure. But
I am happy I have finally mastered using internal mics stealth recording with this unit on the 5th (and a half) attempt. Sound is really sweet - I was in
19th row dead center, mics were about 4' high on me seated in chair. Give it an "A-"
-First off, I must admit I was surprised when the band came on - I was expecting Sam Bush Band and thought momentarily it might be an opening act with
Sam helping out...but Sam and Edgar explained the concept behind the show in 1st set and to the best of my memory it is mainly music from or influenced
by "slow bluegrass before the banjo and vocals were part of the normal bluegrass configuration." So it has a real old timey feel and is real mellow.
Actually, the 2nd set is much more up rhythmically then the 1st set was and I enjoyed it much more. Edgar and Sam seemed to share co-leadership and
George was the young guy for sure. Sam & Mike joined George on fiddle for "Death by Triple Fiddle". Track 5 is a George original from a CD in 2013
they did not name. Track 6 is a duet of Sam & Mike. Sam did not name the title of the Bill Monroe tune. Overall, a very unique and learning musical
experience.
