STORY:

I would like to introduce you to a good friend.
He also has shared the same passion of recording shows WAY before this website.
HE is a local DIME member who has recorded, by himself, over hundreds of shows.
He occassionally trades them over the years, and some have surfaced onto the Dime uploads.
Upon an invite, I went and met him personally.  I had a chance to look at his shows.
Needless to say, this was nowhere near an exaggeration.

I offered to borrow these shows and convert them from analog to digital to preserve, protect, and store these shows.
He has trusted me with these cassettes, and permit me to post these as uploads for all to hear.
The shows come from personal recordings, FM broadcasts, and traded shows.

Original Recorded Cassette (Denon HD8/100 minutes)    
Onkyo TA-RW255 Dual Stereo Cassette Tape Deck
Playback at normal speed and Dolby NR at setting "B"
Stereo Out Coaxial Cable merged into 1/8" breakout cable female adapter (3 Pin XLR for Preamp)

Digital Conversion:

Mic2496 V2 Portable Mic Pre-amp/A-to-D Converter (coax out) into
Core Sound High Resolution Coaxial Cable (1')
M-Audio's MicroTrack II Professional 2-Channel Mobile Digital Recorder
(into SPDIF)


Recorded in 96khz/24 bit 2 channel stereo
All editing done with Adobe Audition 3.0.1 (patch for Vista)
EQ with multiband compression "enhance lows" and "liven Dead Sample.  Slight gain per song (~0.7DB)
Low end Bass removal with "Kill the Subharmonics"
For 44K version a direct conversion done through Adobe Audition
WAV files converted to FLAC 6 via Traders Little Helper
Files torrented will be done thru traders little helper onto uTorrent.
