JJ's Notes:
- A fascinating nugget!  The recording isn't pristine, but it is very nice. The performance is interesting and well worth your ear-time, IMO.  I am not 100% sure about the players; someone with keener ears should probably listen for two drummers (or not), and I also hear a second guitar but cannot be trusted to be correct about that.
- d1t01 Knock on Wood fades in
- d1t05 help in identifying these numbers would be appreciated
- d1t06 help in identifying this funkalicious number would be appreciated. Solid!
- d2t02 Sweet Baby clips in
- d2t05 My Love For You has slide guitar @ ca. 6:57-8:16; spliced @ 8:16.

Lineup, per the Jerry Site and tape notes:
* Keith Godchaux - keyboards, backing vocals;
* Donna Godchaux - vocals;
* Jerry Garcia - guitar, vocals;
* Matt Kelly - harmonica;
* Mike Larsheid - bass;
* Steve Schuster - saxophone;
* Ray Scott - drums;
* Bill Kreutzmann - drums;
* Hadi Al-Saadoon - trumpet;
* ???? - guitar.

Matt Smith's Notes:
- Most of this recent circulating 'new' material came from the amazing Will Boswell/Pat Lee connection.  A good portion of the 'stash' was recorded throughout 1979 with Will Boswell being the prinicipal dubber. As a result, I've had to (happily!!) comb through each one's reels to figure out who has what then take them home and get to work!! Some stuff from this stash was recorded for Pat by Will and the 8-30-75 being among one of these.  Will does not have it but his handwriting is on the box. Lastly, a huge THANK YOU goes out to both Will Boswell and Pat Lee for being so kind and generous in allowing gems like these to surface!!!  2 Hall of Fame 'Deadheads' in which all of us under the age of 40 should especially raise a glass to!!!

Todd released the Nearly Human album around the time of this show. His tour to promote this album was the closest thing to a soul revue, or possibly a Vegas act, as he'd ever get. It was a few years after Utopia ended, and a bit before he'd try on TR-i and flirt with hip hop. Soul and Vegas aside, there was nothing cheesy about this at all. The material was great and the live performances were energetic and a lot of fun for those of us who might've gone back to the days of the Moogy Klingman Utopia and followed along through it all with Todd (and probably kept right on doing that!).
This is a terrific recording, and I honestly can't recall who I got it from in a long ago cd-r trade. Many thanks to them, whoever they were. Another show from this tour, in San Francisco, was just shared, and there's a show from NYC at the Ritz (where I saw the tour) that's been running here for ages. The set here is slightly different from those 2 in that there's no Lost Horizon, Marvin Gaye medley, Mated, or Love in Action. Here, we have Tiny Demons, Cliche, much of Can We Still Be Friends (before it cuts out), and a lengthy I Love My Life. I can't help but wonder if the medley and anything else might've been lost at the point of the cut here during CWSBF, so if anyone out there has a more complete version of this, please do share it.
It all sounds beautiful, as the samples will show. I did use Audacity to pinpoint song starts a little better in some places, and to trim about 4 minutes total of crowd noise waiting after Hawking and during the wait for an encore. Light fades were applied to improve those transitions, and a Mastering tool was lightly applied to add a bit more depth to the recording. As for the credits above, most of the players also sang backgrounds too, so there's a very "big" vocal sound onstage. Workman, Tagg, and Urbano were all from Bourgeois Tagg, and Vince Welnick was in the Tubes (and eventually the Grateful Dead). Thanks again to whoever made this available to me, and to whoever got the recording and passed it on to the rest of us.

U2 2017-06-16 Cardinal Stadium Louisville, KY

U2
2017.06.16, Cardinal Stadium
Louisville, Kentucky

Zoom H1 - AT831 Cardoid Mics WAV 24/48 - Tracksplitting & Fading w/ Audacity - FLAC.

Recording # 294

So, a disclaimer from someone who has never given much thought to ever seeing U2 or listening to any of their records.
1) I have never heard a  U2 record in it's entirety (before this show) other than Joshua Tree (and that was in preparation for this show)
2) I have never taped a show in a stadium (from U2's "red zone" no less) and
3) after seeing them live, I can finally understand why this band is so loved, be it being overwhelmed w/ Bono's positivity, The Edge's guitar textures, Clayton's smooth bass, or Mullen's subtle and under appreciated drumming.\
If you want a show recorded from a bar by Bolt Thrower, Converge, or Neurosis, I am your guy.  I love recording raw, loud, visceral. melt-your-fucking face metal.  Undoubtedly, those show are easier to record, because you can plant yourself in front of the speaker at 10 feet and let the capture do the work for you.  It is so loud that any fan screaming is usually drowned out by the sheer volume of the sound.  This was a lot harder to judge. \
Anyway, my friend from work loves U2.  Like,
I loves
U2.  He had a friend who was able to get tickets in the "red zone" and since we had always wanted to see a concert together I went (not knowing just how fucking long the lines were to park and to leave afterwards).  So, anyway, I suddenly found myself overwhelmed by being at the center of this huge stadium 20 feet from the "B" stage. Because of the generosity of my friend (Thanks Tony!) and his friend (Thanks Steve!), I thought the least I could do was record the show to show my gratitude for the chance to see a legendary band that close.
\
About the recording.  I have only heard some samples from this tour and there are couple things I'd like to mention before you download.
1)  It doesn't sound distant.  It sounds like you are really close to the band.
2)  Some of Bono's vocals are a little hot.  I give this up to setting the recording level higher than I would in a bar, club, arena, or amphitheater, due to the distance I was from the speakers and my lack of experience with stadium sound.
3)   The bass, guitar, and drums are nice and clear.
4)  There is notable audience chatter between songs and during quieter songs. (Why can't people stop talking during quiet parts and just appreciate the band?!)5)  People do sing around me on some parts.  I don't know if that is just from being surrounded by hardcore fans or if this a universal phenomenon for U2.  Happens about 5% of the listening time.

So, anyway,  I would recommend it.  A- recording most of the time with the 5 above caveats.  (Not including the first song, where everyone is loud as fuck).  But once again that is subjective.  If you aren't happy with it after you download, please be tactful with your criticism.  I am not posting mp3 snippets.

One last thing.  I know this sounds cheesy but I want to thank all the hardcore U2 fans who are responsible for this band's longevity.  They wouldn't have been touring 38-39 years later for me to witness them for the first time without you.

JEMS is pleased to release the second of a series of recordings made by legendary taper Mike Millard, AKA Mike the MICrophone, best known for his masters of Led Zeppelin in and around LA circa 1975-77. For further details on how these tapes came to be lost and found again, as well as JEMS' history with Mike Millard, please refer to the notes in Vol. One http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=500680

Our second installment is from night three of Dylan's residency at the Universal Amphitheatre in June 1978. This recording is more complete than the first night, but was again joined in progress. Millard's notes state, "Missed first five minut[e]s of concert," so his recording omits the show-opening "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" and "Love Her With a Feeling," before he gets his Nakamichi 550 up and running during "Baby Stop Crying."

Like night one, what Millard did record is, to my ears, mighty fine. Lossless Bob has two entries for this show, both of which appear to be the same recording based on the LB notations that they cut in the same song ("Forever Young"). Millard's recording has no cuts in "Forever Young," and while we haven't done an A-B comparison, that detail suggests it is indeed a new and previously uncirculated source as night one was. Samples provided.

Olof's essential and detail-rich Still On The Road website notes: "There are (sic) some confusion regarding these shows, the set lists are identical, but some sources claim that Joni Mitchell was present on this show [June 3] rather than the nigh[t] before." I can confirm that the BobTalk transcription on Olof's site for June 3 matches Millard's tape, so it is safe to say Mitchell's appearance, cited in the June 2 BobTalk, is properly attributed to the correct show.

A few additional notes:

In 1978, the Universal Amphitheatre was an open-air venue

I've been told on good authority that Millard used a wheelchair to get his gear into shows, but didn't record from a wheelchair or the wheelchair section of the venue.

A terrific FOB recording from a 1000 seat venue with a typically restrained Japanese audience, which lets the music shine through.  All preserved by a timely DAT > CDR transfer by Mr. McKenzie, for which we are all grateful.

Notes: Backup DAT copy made by the taper on two Maxell DM-120 DATs, and was transferred to two CDRs by TM. The file set includes a hand drawn note by the taper describing his location at the venue, and a photo of safety DAT, tape 1 (backup tape 2 is lost).

Enjoy!

Albert Collins 1979-01-12 Wise Fools Pub Chicago, IL

Albert Collins Live @ Wise Fools Pub Chicago Illinois USA January 12th 1979
 (2nd night show of three, 3rd show was canceled) *Personal favorite*

What memories on this one. My buddy Dennis O. from high school saw him the first
show and told Albert that he had a friend that could come and record the next two
shows. Albert said to Dennis..."you want to record meeee! Wonderful!" So I packed
up the pro cassette unit and sat front row center which was about 15 feet from the
stage. I put the mics in two short drink glasses and spread them apart on our table.
WHAT A RECORDING! EXC+ ALL THE WAY! For those that know my list, EXC+ is rare. Every
little nuance can be heard on his guitar. I mean like NO ONE here on dime or anywhere
has heard on tape from Albert. Albert says half way through the show that looking out
the window he no longer can see his van. It was completely covered in snow. This
folks was the night of the 1979 Chicago snow storm. The entire city was shut down
the next day. Albert's 3rd show was canceled. I took my day off school to record the
copies and walked one mile to Albert's hotel to give him his. Met his wife as well.
He was staying at the Diplomat on Foster and Lincoln. Great long set of music. Please
understand the set list needs a bit of adjustment. As does the tracking. For the
purist in me, I want to make sure you have the best possible listen of the show.
Download and listen to the show in its entirety. THEN..fix as you please. Three hours.

Albert! Thank you for the memories! RIP

SBD-Possible Hearing Impared Feed (there was some question at the time) ->DAT->CD
Here is another of my master audio tapes mixed with what was presented to me as a soundboard recording.
The sound is very nice and well balanced and is a treat to listen to.
The gent that did the mix did not give me any details about percentages of each source.

The video was sent to me last year by a generous Who fan (Stuart from Florida) after I seeded the audio source on TTD.

The video is a single camera from the left of the stage.
There are wonderful closeups and plenty of distractions from the audience around him; in other words, a typical audience recording.

I used Ulead Visual Studio 11 to synch the audio and video files, I then used TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 to create the chapters and menus.

JOE'S MEMORIES:
This show was Boston's "Made In Japan" concert . That album was in every heavy Rock fan's collection and there were so many people that I knew who wanted to see them,
we ended up buying 14 tickets and having one of the Loge sections of the Boston Music Hall pretty much all to ourselves. The band had released their album "Who Do We Think We Are?"
in January, but for this show, it was like it didn't even exist. The single, "Woman From Tokyo", was a big hit, being played regularly on all the area FM stations and members
of the audience kept calling out for it. but the band wasn't going to play it and the set was all songs from "Made In Japan".  Even without doing any new material,
Deep Purple put on an excellent show. There were no introductions. The lights went down and the familiar opening chords of "Highway Star" began. After that,
Ritchie Blackmore began playing the familiar intro to "Smoke On The Water", they followed that with "Strange Kind Of Woman". Jon Lord then got to do some excellent
keyboard work on a ten minute version of "Child In Time", that also features Ian Gillan's superb vocal range. An eighteen minute version of "Lazy" followed,
with an ear piercing Jon Lord organ intro. This song gave each member of the band to show their individual talents. Ritchie Blackmore, doing some great guitar soloing,
Roger Glover, on Bass, Ian Paice on Drums and Ian Gillan, adding some harmonica to the performance. The set closed with a twenty-five minute "Space Truckin'",
that had the band playing on a dark stage, surrounded by flashing strobe lights, with Ritchie taking off his Stratocaster and throwing it straight up, over his head,
about three times and making the audience anticipate a guitar smashing ritual, but catching it at the last second, instead.
They left the stage and, after a few minutes of a standing, clapping ovation, returned to do a high energy, Deep Purple interpretation of the Little Richard classic, "Lucille".
That was a great ending to a great show and it turned out to be one of my best concert recordings. At time, you'd swear that it really was the "Made In Japan" album.
Sit back and isten for yourself. Turn it Up!

Many Many Thanks To Joe

Notes:

I ripped this directly from my Silver that i bought from a japanese bootleg site. This was the first show of the Warning tour and also the very first show Queensryche ever played in Japan. This show is extremely rare, in fact before i found it in Japan i dont think it was even known to be recorded by most queensryche collecters. The sound on this is quite nice considering its an audience recording from 1984. To me this is the way i want to remember Queensryche, they became something totally different over the years and to be quite honest their setlist choices were a bore to me. Now that Rising West formed i am hoping setlists similar to this show become the norm and they tour more now that they have a more than capable singer that isnt afrird to let it all out, unlike the person he replaced. On a tech note i couldnt get the last track to rip without errors with EAC but i listened to the track and heard no audible issues.

                                                           Enjoy!

This is one of my mate's recordings and is straight from his original tapes. The quality is good for the

jam packed making for a fantastic atmosphere. If you haven't got this I recommend uploading it. Sorry

I borrowed what I was told was the mastertape 23-24 years ago. Had one evening to make a  copy. This is a rip from this tape.
This was my second Neil Young concert. The first one was in Göteborg two days earlier. Given the completely new computersound I was happy I had these days to get used to Neil's new kind of music. At this concert in Copenhagen I had great seats and was able to fully enjoy the concert. When it was over (all too soon) the standing ovation lasted at least 15 minutes, probably longer. The light went on and most of the gear got packed away before we stopped the applause and headed for the train home. Wow!
But beware - even though the music is top quality, the quality of this recording is not. You might want to DL one song first to check if you want it all. I can't supply mp3-samples, sorry.
