COMMENT
This is certainly not the best audience recording released by Sabotage but it is still worthy of an excellent rating (albeit EX-). There are a number of female audience members audible throughout the show who constantly scream at every move by P, but it's a live show and it's expected. It's also fair to say it isn't the cleanest sounding recording, but it's enjoyable and P's performance is loud and upfront. The show itself is a fairly typical Jam Of The Year concert with the inclusion of a great guest performance by Carlos Santana on a few numbers. P and Santana duet on a fantastic version of 'Soul Sacrifice' each taking turn to solo after the other - a rarity and one of the best, lengthiest versions played. One other slight change is the inclusion of 'Condition Of The Heart' during the piano medley. Sabotage appear to have made a few sly edits during both 'Face Down' and 'How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore' - not a major complaint, but certainly obvious if you have heard a few other shows from the tour. The inclusion of the GCS opening act is a nice bonus as it also includes a guest spot by Santana along with a brief appearance by P. The packaging is stunning and includes 2 very rare pictures of P in his Muppets Tonight outfit along with a nice review of the Mountain View concert from the local newspaper. The main show has since been released by Fearless/4DaFunk on 'Shoreline 97' in improved quality from a different source recording.
