This would be my third Yes music show this year, after Anderson-Ponty (which I walked out on) and Yes (which everyone else walked out on).  It sounded like Yes for the most part, although it was a bit heavy on the 80's pop song stuff due to the presence of Trevor Rabin and his spray painted helmet hair (Seriously. Look at the pictures.  The whole middle of his head looks like hair in a can).  Rabin simplified some of Howe's guitar parts and omitted others but it still managed to sound like Yes for the most part.  Anderson sounded better now than he did 12 years ago with Yes, and having Rabin and Wakeman on the tour also kept him from butchering his owns songs this time around.  And You And I doesn't get all creepy in the choruses like at the Anderson/Ponty show, and I didn't walk out during Roundabout.  Wakeman made a couple mistakes and before Changes had a keyboard breakdown.  So he kept everyone entertained with a short stand up routine.

Overall it was very Yes, but they played it safe with the pop songs, unlike Yes this year, who played two twenty minute songs in a row and gave absolutely zero fucks about people walking out.  Granted, they tried to prog some stuff up with extended keyboard solos.  During Owner's keytar (yep!) solo Wakeman walked out into the crowd.  I didn't get any pictures of that as everyone around me stood up and I'm not exactly tall.  Awaken was nice to see live.  It felt like it could've fallen apart at any moment but they kept it together.  Lee Pomeroy's bass solo in The Fish was great. It was very cool to see someone play something like that with the strings upside down.

There was a hippie in front of me that was really into this show. He was throwing peace signs at Anderson the whole show and, much to the chagrin of the older, respectable Amherstians in the audience,  midway through the show he sparked up a bowl!  Remember I was 7th row, so 6th row smoking some herb at the Yes show!  Go college!

The place was packed and it went over really well. I enjoyed it but I think I'm done with Yes music in concert for a while.
