I got this tape from a childhood buddy of mine who bought it at a San Diego record fair in the early 80's. It's only a 90 minute tape (pictures included), so the last few songs are missing. It was so long ago that he forgets if there was a second tape, and he says it's entirely possible that it was there but he didn't buy it because he saw “White Christmas” on the track listing and just grabbed that tape (he wasn't a big Queen fan but interested enough to hear them do that song). He said he remembers the dealer saying he got it from the taper, and that the copies he was selling were copies of his, which (if that’s all true) would make this a second generation copy. The tape sat in his basement for ages but he found it earlier this year after rummaging through his tapes for the first time in years, and wanted it to be heard for the 40th anniversary of the show. Knowing that I am a music collector and sharer, he sent it to me to digitize and share. I’m happy to be able to present it to the community. And, while I am not the world’s biggest Queen collector, this show is rare; as far as I can tell, it hasn't circulated before now - it isn't listed on queenconcerts.com or bootlegzone.
As far as quality, it is not great but listenable (sample attached).
