GVF's first date of their sold out headlining tour. This was a tough ticket
and because I slept on buying one when it went on sale I had to pull a few
strings. Thankfully, I didnt have to pay $100 per! Ive never heard of a band
supporting a 4-song EP headlining, but I guess there's first for everything!
These guys lived up to all of the hype and then some. The main reason it was
important for me to make this show was hearing the unreleased material they
have been performing. Whenever their debut LP releases, its going to be a
classic if their live show is any indication. For any fans of 70's era classic
rock, give this one a listen.
Please note during track 1, the band did launch into "Talk On The Street", but
Jake realized he was not in tune. The band stopped while he tuned and Josh
greeted the crowd. The guitar is also brought up in the house mix during the
first minute of "Talk On The Street" (track 2). You'll notice it is very low
from the beginning. All in all, I was very happy with the sound in The Basement,
which usually is not the case. This might be my best recording I've made in the
300 person capacity venue. If only all bands sounded this clear down there!!
The band returned for the encore after "Safari" and played 3 songs not on the
setlist. I couldn't find the titles for the first 2 online, so I guessed. They
sound like jams, to be honest. They ended w/ the Elvis cover.
