Al Stewart: The Lostbrook Tape Series Volume 112
When I found out that Al Stewart was going to play at my college,
it didn't matter that I had already seen him twice on this tour. I
skipped class and was first on line with money for 22 tickets when
the Student Union office opened. There wasn't a seating chart
available, and with the first few rows of the center section reserved,
I took a chance on right-center. Some of my friends ended up with a
sharp viewing angle, but the sound was clear and crisp where we sat. The
concert started late because Al Stewart was sick. After a delay, his
band came out and jammed for over 20 minutes to entertain us. Following
another short break, Al appeared with the band and seemed none the worse
for wear. For our fifth and final Al Stewart release, we leave you with
a mystery: either Al was too sick to perform an encore or it is hiding
in my box on an unmarked tape. Since I seriously doubt there are other
sources for this concert, we'll have to wait until the series is over.
One day, I'll take out some "incense and patchouli," fast-forward through
every section of blank tape, and hunt for buried treasure.
