Dan Lampinski recorded over 100 concerts in the Providence/Boston area, mostly between 1974 and 1978. His earliest recordings were made with an internal microphone deck, and though they are somewhat lo-fi compared to his later work, some very great moments in rock history were captured for posterity. In late 1974 he bought a Sony TC-152SD tape recorder, a Sony ECM-99 stereo microphone, and began using Maxell cassettes. He was also fortunate enough to have a friend who provided excellent taping seats for many shows, resulting in high quality recordings. In 1977, he switched over to a Nakamichi 550 tape recorder, two Nakamichi CM-300 microphones, and continued using Maxell cassettes.

He recorded many of the major 70's bands: Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult, Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull, ELP, Kiss, Black Sabbath, The Who, Al Stewart, Alice Cooper, Jeff Beck, Bruce Springsteen, Supertramp, Jean-Luc Ponty, Moody Blues, Neil Young, The Faces, Rush, Rick Wakeman, Kansas, as well as several "under the radar" acts.

Since Dan never traded copies of his recordings, they are all essentially uncirculated. Some copies were made for friends, but these releases are the first time most of these recordings have ever seen the light of day, and are direct from his master cassettes. No EQ'ing has been done to any of the transfers. Feel free to EQ, matrix, patch, etc and re-post if you like, just give Dan credit for the original recording.

Dan was very meticulous about taking good care of his tapes and is very pleased that these recordings will now circulate among the trading community. Please honour his kindness and generosity by sharing these recordings freely.

Genesis 1987-06-08 Reichstagsgelaende/Platz der Republik, Berlin,Germany

GENESIS LIVE IN BERLIN
Reichstagsgelaende/Platz der Republik, June 8th, 1987.
TM Productions GEN870608TM

This remaster was formerly known as "MASTER OF BERLIN", and it is one of my early works, I did it
in November 2000. In these days when remaster groups were rare (hard to imagine), my project had
no name, nor had my babies.

The nameless primary version was traded in 2001 without my knowledge (but with my silent consent),
and the name of the directory the SHNs were stored in was "\masterofberlin".
When I asked Speedy for the origin of the name, he said, he liked the sound of that, so in his
trade list he called it that, partly to help explain to people what it was (make it recognizable)
and half as an inside joke because he had been arguing (with Mark B) on the forum that "Master
of Chicago" and BURP 003 were NOT pre-FM recordings of Chicago 78. Also, on the SHNGenesis hub
people saw the directory name. So the name supposedly "stuck".

Later on, Mark B had Jeff M attempt to re-master this for the well known BURP 012 release. This is
Speedy's recording comment of it (from The Movement):
>>A bit disappointing in that I find the original source material of this remaster to sound better
than the remaster. Still, bests "Triangle on Domino". But I *recommend* "Master of Berlin".<<

So this is it! Newly released (soundwise unaltered) by popular demand.

CD1:
1.  Introduction: ANYTHING SHE DOES (Video Version) 0:31
2.  MAMA 7:22
3.  ABACAB 8:40
4.  DOMINO (Part I: IN THE GLOW OF THE NIGHT/ Part II: THE LAST DOMINO) 11:18
5.  THAT'S ALL 5:01
6.  THE BRAZILIAN 5:32
7.  IN THE CAGE 7:58
8.  /...IN THAT QUIET EARTH 4:25
9.  AFTERGLOW 4:39
10. LAND OF CONFUSION 5:17

CD2:
1.  Band introduction 1:40
2.  TONIGHT, TONIGHT, TONIGHT 9:10
3.  THROWING IT ALL AWAY 8:19
4.  HOME BY THE SEA 5:19
5.  /SECOND HOME BY THE SEA 6:47
6.  INVISIBLE TOUCH 5:06
7.  DRUM DUET 5.47
8.  /LOS ENDOS 6:31
9.  TURN IT ON AGAIN (Medley) 13:32
Comprising: EVERYBODY NEEDS (SOMEBODY TO LOVE), (I CAN'T GET NO) SATISFACTION,
TWIST AND SHOUT, REACH OUT (I'LL BE THERE), YOU'VE LOST THAT LOVING FEELING,
PINBALL WIZARD, IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR, TURN IT ON AGAIN

Audio-source: Pre-FM DAT, with the exception of "Throwing It All Away", "Drum Duet" and most
of the spoken introductions. Most likely, these bits were omitted to keep the program length
below 120 mins. So I had to restore the show with the help of a 2nd gen Cassette tape that David D
was kind to lend me.
This tape was noticably worse than the DAT and I remember it was not easy to adjust, but as no one
has noticed the fact that the remaster was a composite, I think it must have worked ;)

Mastered with Sonic Solutions, restauration of the 2nd gen recordings with Sonic Solutions NoNoise.
Further processing: SPL Spectralizer and SPL Maximizer.

The Who 1980-07-13 Greensboro Coliseum Greensboro, NC

The Who
Greensboro Civic Center
Greensboro, NC
1980- July 13

RECORDER: KYLIEMINOGUE
UPLOADER: UNIVONC

STORY:

This appears to be a classic concert from KylieMinogue.

Let the Greensboro Daily News on July 14, 1980 explain the show:

"Greensboro's latest "event" was Sunday, in case you missed it.
'Course, if you were within 20 miles or so of the coliseum, you couldn't have missed it - or hearing it, at least.

The Who's music was so loud, in fact, that it was nearly impossible to understand the words unless you'd heard them before, which most of the concertgoers probably had.

Coliseum officials added a touch of security, and police officers and door guards kept things from getting out of hand.
But jagged nerves weren't hard to find, and haven't been ever since 11 fans were killed in a stampede at The Who's concert last fall in Cincinnati.

And the famous Who sound must have affected a few people, given that they have to be the loudest group going.
The music absolutely vibrated the building - no wonder the group's members have suffered hearing loss over years.

A variety of lights, some looking like spaceships, illuminated the performance, which featured all the fans have come to expect from these 15-year veterans of rock 'n' roll.
Lead singer Roger Daltrey twisted, grimaced and jumped; guitarist Peter Townshend gave it his almost-violent best; bassist John Entwistle stood off In his customary calmness; new drummer Kenny Jones slammed out the beat."

This DVD & CD set examines the video from the recording session of "Hey Bulldog", which was utilised for the "Lady Madonna" promotional film in 1968, and re-edited to promote "Hey Bulldog" in conjunction with the 1999 release of "Yellow Submarine Songtrack", which featured new mixes of songs used in the animated feature film. Further new edits on this release contain unseen material alongside "a compilation of studio outtakes, isolated tracks, demos and alternate mixes for both songs". A brand new edit of the filming session for the track clocking in at 20 minutes is a surprising feature.
