eeknotes:
Love love love love this concert. I would see Genesis for the first time only 4 years, 6 months, and 5 days later.
Here's the skinny on my reworking:
1. Too fast - speed corrected.
2. too muffled - EQ-ed to reveal cymbals, and other like-frequencies as well as some LOW tones too.
3. too many cuts had a sustained whining high pitched frequency throughout - isolated the frequencies and eliminated them.
4. too chatty at beginning of tracks - re-indexed entire show with chatty stories at the ends of tracks..
5. too much hiss - removed top layer of hiss, removed a little more in quieter sections. Repeated same in quieter passages just to improve upon the notion.
6. too dry after hiss reduction(s), PLUS the show in general was just 'too' monophonic in headphones - SO, apply reverb to give back some ambience, deepen lower frequencies, and to create a stereo image.
7. reduced recorder-distortion frequencies. Didn't remove all, but this made the overall listen less abraisive on the eardrums.
8. Hijacked some of Mark B's artwork just for the sheer fun of it. TAKE THAT YOU LAZY LEECH!!!!
That's it!
Enjoy on speakers or under headphones.
