 Broadcast on WKOJ Middletown NY
 AT-173

I'm hoping this post makes a few people happy. This show has been posted before and is still present on the tracker but this is an upgrade to that one. This is all one source, no cuts or missing bits and is uncensored. Yes Ian, you heard me right. I recorded this on a dual reversing JVC deck. While not the highest quality deck on the market, it had one nice advantage when recording long broadcasts. It gave me the ability to do tape flips between songs and only miss a split second of the audience. It also allowed me to record onto two tapes simultaneously so I could start recording onto a second tape if the first was not going to make it to the end of the song.
This is not a perfect recording as the local radio station threw in a station ID twice at the start of a song, but they were brief and only played over the audience or musical into. So not really a big deal but I couldn't really edit them out. Now I don't know how this was broadcast in other areas, but on our local station broadcast the "Pre-Show" program that was intended to be played at the intermission, was played after the show was over. As the pre-show runs 36:44 I guess John didn't want to take that much time for a water break. I chose to leave it last and leave it as one track. It features interviews with some of the band members including John. There is also an in the studio performance of "Small Town" in the pre-show that was broadcast the previous year on the local Indiana radio station Q-95.
So while we have a nor-easter blowing outside the window here, sit back and imagine it's a warm summer 4th of July, enjoy!

Ripped by Atlasstar 1-2016

Please share freely, do not convert to lossy except for personal use. Please trade with the original files after allowing me sufficient time to post on my favorite sites.

This is part of the Atlasstar Attic Treasures Series. My attic consists of thousands of cassettes collected since the 70's. I will post them in no particular order as I pull them out of the attic and convert to digital. Some of these artists I know well and collect myself, other I know little about just picked up along the way. I will provide as much info as I can but if anyone can add any insight to the recordings it would be appreciated.  If the same recording is circulating in better quality please let me know as I have no intention of polluting the trading pool.

All recordings are kept as original as possible with minimal processing. Unless noted otherwise the only adjustments made are Automatic Phase Correction, Level adjustments and cleaning of any rough or abrupt cuts.
